I can't tell you how many times I tried this as a kid when I was in a bowling league. I was so convinced that a Disney movie couldn't have possibly lied to me. Spoiler alert: it did.
1:05 Disney left a part out "I can make this shot, becuase i just smoked a fat blunt in the bathroom blazeit420" also, turn dat shit on .5 play speed around 3:56.. Im fucking dead lmao
Lmfaoooo I was asking my friends if they remembered a bowling Disney channel movie where at the end a girl has a 7/10 split and she sticks a finger in one of the holes and spins it. I said she pushes it and it goes down the lane for what feels like ages and she gets the spare. This is the first time I've seen this clip since I was a child and that's EXACTLY what happens 😂😂😂
I literally just did this 3 days ago but with the 9 and 7. I could not believe it worked. It rode the left edge the whole way then curved in last second (moving very slow) and got both pins. Everyone in the bowling alley went nuts
This scene is awesome but not because West Appleton wins, it's because it shows that Todd isn't always the Golden Boy. He finally learns that he doesn't have to be great at everything. He thought that he had to make everyone happy but the person that he didn't want to let down was his dad, his dad put the most pressure on Todd, and to let Delia bowl instead of him, that was a good thing because he knew he couldn't make it so he put someone else in his place who could!
exactly it really takes me back to my college days my mom was putting so much pressure on me with school and it seemed like she cared more about my education than me and at my graduation party she invited all of her friends and none of mine came and it felt like it was HER party and i had to get my dad to throw me a REAL graduation party cause it felt like i only had to go to college just so my mom can use me as some kind of trophy to show all of her friends what SHE achieved instead of just being proud of me now i completely regret getting my degree cause i feel like i did all of that hard work for absolutely nothing i REALLY hate how parents do that to their kids i'm so glad that now kids have a choice on whether college is good for them or not
Just like you don't have to be perfect for something you do, not everyone is perfect, sometimes they made mistakes or get in trouble with someone it just how it is,like Todd said"Sometimes I'm not the best, and you gotta let that be o.k", life lesson that you can't always be perfect or be the best at anything just be you.
When I was maybe 9 years old, I got a 7-10 split and tried to do the exact same thing because Hey! It worked in the movie... I got the ball stuck in the middle of the lane 😂
@@broadwaymike92 I mean other than you sounding like a dumbass...Literally a baby? That's why I asked if you know what literally means...Looks like you don't.
Okay, I just watched this movie & used to love this movie when it first came out because I had just started bowling myself. Now, I think being a bowler completely ruins this movie....I was too critical of it, bad form, & the 7 & 10 pin are pushed all the way to the front. Brings me back to my childhood, but I don't think I could watch it again.
I just rewatched this movie and what really bugs me is they say they need the spare to win the game if they miss the spare they lose....So that would mean if they got 1 of the 2 pins it would be a tie right...? Yet they never mention that...its either you get both and win or dont get both and lose.....
Not necessarily, when you get a spare or a strike in bowling it acts as a multiplier to the previous shot, not sure exactly what it is but its more than just adding up the number of pins.
I saw someone did the 7 10 split at my bowling alley last week they celebrated like it was a perfect game. I get it it's hard and never did it. With lots of practice I'm sure I will get it.
Anyone else here because their little sister was watching this on Disney channel, you missed the whole movie but just so happened to walk in on this part?
i tried this in a bowling alley. the ball didn't have enough momentum to get all the way down the lane and ending up stuck in the gutter. damn you disney channel movie lying to me
lol. You can also tell in the end the pins are moved up past where the headpin would be and they're closer together than they should be :P This spare has been made plenty of times in real life though but takes luck to bounce something out.
This is the only part I remember I was like 6 when it came out and was on disney plus and watched it and I had a feeling was this the movie I watched as a kid all I remembered was a little short girl in a competition and rolling the bowling ball hella slow sure enough it was crazy wat we remember
This film 🎞 came out in 2000. 19 years later in 2019 and I’m just now realizing that it’s Ray from Sister Sister (starring twins Tia and Tamera Mowry) and the second Aunt (Viv)Ian from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (starring Will Smith) 😮 . Mind blowing.
1. That was not a perfect shot. He has terrible form, hit the pocket light on the opposite side (Jersey/Brooklyn) at maybe 10mph. 2. Why are they using rubber balls from the 1960's? 3. Why was the 7 and 10 pin about a foot forward of their marked spots?
OK confidence is one thing, but that girl was ridiculously confident to a point where it's obvious it's a movie. lmao it's not like this is the biggest moment in the entire story or anything.
when the pins are up 2 the front of what's called a "pin deck", a person is (or might be) standing above the pins on the platform of a Brunswick A2 pinsetter platform, as soon as the ball "hits" the 7 pin (left-hand side), it is suddenly "hurled" towards the 10 pin (right-hand side). To spare that in real life, hurl the ball down the lane fast, clip one of the pins (only just) and let it fall only to tap the other pin. or smash the crap out of the pin and get it to ounce off the back wall.
Todd: *hits the opposite side of the pocket in a horrible shot* Announcer: "Todd launches a perfect ball and is denied!" Nah he deserved that 7-10 split with how awful that shot was.
Thought of this movie randomly a week ago when I went bowling and I was convinced the girl was Alyson stoner. Like 100% sure it was an early role of hers. Who the hell is this girl.
As an actual bowler, I'm appalled. I came in expecting absolutely nothing, and was still greatly let down. Let's begin...not a perfect ball. These characters in the movie are certain it is, though. It hit the Brooklyn pocket, not to mention the absolute massive amount of ball deflection. Don't get me started on his form. Then, that girl goes in to make the spare for him. I have no idea what kind of game format this was but that's...wait for it...ILLEGAL. On the topic of legality...that release to make the 7-10, is not a release, and is therefore illegal. Fingers must be in the ball. Now, this isn't even lack of bowling knowledge in this next part, rather movie makers believing movie watchers are incredibly dumb. How did they not expect us to notice the "7-10" being set up before the rack, but also much closer. Finally, that ball probably had no kinetic energy so it shouldn't have any power to move that pin any distance. You don't have to be a genius to also realize, pins just don't move like that. This isn't the mobile game PBA Challenge. It's almost as if the creators of this wonderful film have never bowled in their whole life. They made this movie, and they somehow managed to sleep well afterwards. Unbelievable.
wow! so much hate on this scene. and when has a movie about a sport EVER gotten EVERYTHING perfectly correct? --- but this is one of my favorite scenes from this movie. and out of any G-Rated Disney Movies.
also, they'd have to bowl again for the frame after the split to get at least 1 more pin to win. it's not possible to get 9 pins here and lose and 10 pins and win - it would be 10 pins to tie and then an extra frame for more pins
If you watch the movie in full you would notice at first how much Delia thinks Todd is just cocky and a jerk. If you watch the movie closely you would notice as it progresses the two start becoming closer. Yes, Todd becomes friends with all the Alley Cats but I saw more. It's hard to point out different examples without watching the full movie but I noticed multiple parts. Todd and Delia really should have ended up together at the end of the movie. Every time I watch the movie I think this.
Ah, one of the more charmingly cringe-inducing sequences, from the overzealous announcer giving play-by-play over the public address and distracting the kids with his errant complaints of organ failure, to the period CGI that looks like Tron or stop-motion compared to the capabilities today. And, if they were using CGI to begin with, why have the pins roughly three feet ahead of their usual spots!? Nonetheless a memorable scene, even though they chose to do everything else correctly while using the spirit of Ub Iwerks as a technical advisor.
