Hi Steve - I had a great time. Thanks for letting me tag along. They even had my favorite (Mustang) only in convertable form. What a beautiful, fun day. Blessings - Judith 🎤🎭
Those were some of the most beautiful cars that I’ve ever seen at a car show!! Thanks so much for taking us along Steve!! I saw a convertible version of the Mustang my sister had as a teenager. Nice that you got to meet a follower as well! Much love from DeeAnn
I smiled watching this video from beginning to end! I couldn't t pick a favorite car...perhaps the station wagon lol. Go go dancers get two thumbs up!fun interview with Paul.
What a fun video! The nostalgia and the cars! Love the go go dancers and those in the crowd dressed up like hippies. Those were the days! The cars were incredible. Thanks for sharing Steve!
Love the pretty pastel colour cars :) This brought back memories of when I was a child we had a red 1970 Volkswagen Beetle , and if you where small enough you could sit in the back carpet space area
I would have been stage struck if I saw you...couldn't have said a word. The smell of pot sure would have taken me back, though! My sons are always telling me, "why don't you take pictures and video?" I am old and just use my phone for calls and texts. Plus, I remind them that I am an invalid, so unless you want video of me between the bed and the bathroom, what's the point? Thanks as always, Steve and a shout out to Paul!
Hi William, I bet your sons would love to have videos of you talking about your life, in the past, the present and the future. Even if you’re just sitting in bed making the videos. Especially someday when you’re not around. I would give anything to have videos of my grandparents and my brothers and other Family members were no longer around. Photos are nice but they just can’t compare to a video, but then I guess I’m a little biased lol! 😆👍
Steve, your channel is absolutely well done. Think I watched everyone. Learned many things about Palm Springs. Your videos are down to earth and great for someone moving to Palm Springs area. Coming to Palm Springs sometime in May to look for long term House to rent. BTW - Don’t have Instagram account. Hopefully you’re get this message. Hope to met you and Jim while we are there. J&J
We have 2 classic, well antique plated cars now. I know that this is not the "politically correct" thing to say today but, I love the smell of the ole' gas guzzling cars. My husband and I go to probably too many car shows, but there's nothing like that gasoline smell in the air when they all fireup at the end of the show! How nice that you got to meet Paul. He's right when he made the comment about videos..."that's why we watch people like you". Though Paul does have the personality for it. Thanks for the memories... peace.
Cars back then were built like tanks!! Real bumpers! And the camper ! Wow! Our family of four camped in one that size when I was a child. We went all the way to Canada and all the way down to Key West! Good times!😎
That was an interesting video of the antique cars. I’m not really an antique car enthusiast but we have a 1971 Buick Skylark convertible which is in good condition and we store in the garage. It’s really my husbands car and he’s the one interested in old cars. Thanks for posting Steve,
My Dad was a Dodge/Chrysler man. He got a new one every 2 yrs, and some of them, back in the day, were so long! Like the ones at the show. Take care, Steve!
My husband and I go every year to the vintage car show up in Lake, George, New York. We have such a great time. You had a beautiful day. Also, Steve, love the music you had on in the background.😊🚙
I do not think I ever went to a car show but thanks for sharing this with us ! I have seen car shows on You Tube but never went to a car show ! Some cars can be very pretty and beautiful !
Hi Steve...love the classic cars... beautiful...I saw a 57 Chevy convertible..I think ...it is awesome.. love the oldies, but goodies. Great vlog.. thanks. Deborah 🇨🇦

Often go to car shows. My friend has a classic 1934 Chevy red. Built from the bottom up! 🚗and a 2023 Corvette! Got lots of trophies! It’s fun to go! And they play lots of good oldie music 🎵 enjoy your outing! 😃👍⭐️
Steve I just Love your Channel!! You make me Happy and I sure needed that today. Don’t forget to video House Tour with Marsha? Say hello to Marsha and Bobby? 🌺
Wow! As always, Steve, this is another excellent video! I wish I had been there to see that car show! I love your statement about the "smell of pot...." that indicates that you are surrounded by many beautiful ex-hippies of the 1960s. I have always wondered what happened to the hippies of the 1960s; they're retired and living in Palm Springs!!! LOL
I had fun just watching your video. Loved seeing the kind of cars I grew up with...but did not own except for the "73 VW Beetle. I also had a "68 Cadillac Convertible in the '90's. Had to sell it.
Enjoyed ,Steve, old memories for me too well-built cars and cheap gas an as for Jim not visiting with you, The word VINTAGE probably scare him making sound that he is old😊❤
Alright now, Vintage/Classic cars, right up my alley! I grew up with a (mostly) muscle car Dad, drag strip racer, restorey , collector, which carried over in me. So yes, we have had many of those. When I first saw the white T-Bird with red interior, black/gold CA plates and no fender skirts, I was like is that the one I had (sold it in Tustin CA 1981-82ish) but when you got to the rear it was a 1964, and mine was exactly alike, missing the fender skirts but was a 1965. I am very surprised there were not more cars there for that. A little underwhelming, but hey, you had Go Go dancers, right? LOL I'm surprised that another person (guess I can put initials? CP) known by many who is into cars, Modernism, Mid-Century (on many forums) was not there showcasing a few cars or what not. I really could kick myself for selling my 1968 Mustang coupe 289 with black/gold CA plates (I was 2nd owner, special ordered and delivered in Pomona CA) I bought in San Diego (Yellow/Black vinyl top/black interior). Yep, one of many. Thanks for going and sharing!
That is awesome KB. And I think we all regret selling our old cars that would now be classics! I was surprised there were more too. There were probably twice as many last year at the vintage car parade celebrating the 85th anniversary of Palm Springs. The ones that were there were pretty cool though. Thanks for sharing! 😎👍
My husband and I had either a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne or a 1961 Impala, but I’m thinking it was the former. At any rate, it was light baby blue with a white top. Very nice looking and in perfect condition. I’m sure he bought it for $100 to $300, but likely closer to $100. Ah, the good old days. We also had a 66 Mustang, a Plymouth Roadrunner whose horn went beep beep. We owned an American Motors Javelin which was a very nice vehicle. The real classic was a 1971 Dodge Challenger, white with a black top. Black interior, probably vinyl, but maybe leather. Still a beautiful vehicle. Totally restored. Now that I think about it, I believe my husband had a 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air. I loved that car. My dad passed away in 1970 and my nephew was 3. He was always with my husband (my boyfriend at that time) and I. When we were parked in front of my mom’s house right after my dad passed, my nephew asked if God drove a 1961 blue Chevy. I love how little ones think? I’ll never forget that.
What awesome memories Cynthia. Thank you for sharing them with us. If you guys had held onto all of those cars you could have your own vintage car show now, lol! 😆👍✌️
Hey Steve, Wow, who was that wildly handsome and witty subscriber you ran into? Sure hope he is single and available! Let me know. ❤️ Paul, and also the vintage cars were nice too. Really great meeting you, just as warm and friendly as you are on my screen.
I didn't see my first car there, but it was the best! A 1970 Pontiac LeMons Sport Convertible. I pulled out the stock 4 speed and put in a 5 speed. I lived in San Francisco Bay Area growing up and refused to get my license. It just made no sense to me! I lived in SF area, I could catch a cab, a bus, a cable car, a trolly car, and this was back in the day when you could go up to a cab driver and offer them $ to drive you anywhere. It was always a negotiation, and I didn't have to pay for parking, move it all the time, tickets, just seemed stupid. For my dad, if you didn't drive you didn't have a life worth living (he was an exec at GMAC). I did join the military and my fist duty station was out in the middle of the desert in Fallon NV, I wanted to live off base but it was a podunk town to buses, no taxi's, you had to have a car, you had to drive. As well as the Navy pretty much forced the issue by driving me out to the runways in a gov't vehicle under the presence of a job, only to have another vehicle pull up, the other guys jumping in and leaving me with a van, stick shifter of course. They told me if I wanted to get back I'd have to drive myself. Over the radio, with the Air Traffic Controllers, and all the Weapons guys (and the entire rest of the Naval Air Station!!)l, they were "walking me through" how to let out the clutch, how to shift gears, I'd kill it and start again. I swear it took hours out there in over 100 degree temps to get back to the Weapons Depot. I think I drove in 2nd gear, as fast as I could, I'm sure I blew the engine. God I was mad!! Seriously, that is what it took for me. My dad drove the LeMon's to me as a gift for finally learning to drive. After that one (which was stolen and driven to Mexico (by another sailor who went AWOL, I knew I'd never see that again), I bought a 1973 Pontiac Camaro, Candy Apple Red, manual transmission, it was a police magnet !! That was the last hot car I owned. Now, I drive an Subaru Outback and a Honda Odyssey. Can you honestly get more suburban??? I don't think so.
Lol, wow, that is an awesome story about your first car and learning how to drive Derek! And you have an amazing memory. Thanks for sharing that with us. 😄👍
@@steveinpalmspringscaThe car runs great but the pedal now goes completely to the floor. It has a different type of braking system than modern vehicles.
The very first two cars, 61/62 Cadillacs in wonderful colors, then the 56 Lincoln convertible in Fuchsia (sp?) then the 64 Country squire wagon with the faux wood trim. Then the pink 59 Cadillac, then the 57 Cadillac Brougham (that cost $13,000 when new) then the white 64 thunderbird coupe. Then the 65 Riviera then the fuselage styling 1969/70 Chrysler in yellow. Then the yellow 69 Camaro convertible then the 62 Thunderbird in Chestnut Metallic OMG Palms Springs has got to have the best car shows in the country. I live in the midwest and all I see are mustangs and Camaros and try-five Chevies. BTW I sold a beautiful 65 Lincoln Continental sedan (pale blue) to a man in Palms Springs so he could park it in his carport to go along with his house. Thanks for the video.
That is awesome Jeff. oh cool that one of your classic cars is now here in Palm Springs. Lol, these vintage cars really are like the perfect accessories to these vintage mid century modern homes! 😎👍
I love the 57 chevy a neighbour had one he put a tow bar on the bumper to bring his horse from A to B. the modern bumper is made of plastic...Patrick in Ireland
By the way, Steve, not sure if you mention or not but what was the temperature there? Looks like it was quite warm. When I got up this morning here in NJ, it was 14°!🥶
My first boyfriend had a baby blue Ford falcon convertible. We went to Prom in it and to the beach most weekends. Everybody, or at least all the men, appeared to be dressed alike or is it me?
What a fun memory Janet. And yes, most everyone attending modernism week really gets into the fashion as well. It’s fun to see so many men and women wearing clothes that would have fit right in 50 or 60 years ago! 😎👍✌️
The cars were excellent. What I want to know is how does one go about applying for a position as a go-go dancer in 2024? Is there a go-go dancer union? 🤔🤣
Steve.... which one would you buy if you could? You and your husband seem to be real opposites. Maybe that is what keeps the two of you together. See ya.
I think I would have to choose one of the Cadillacs. My grandmother drove Cadillacs from the time I was born until the time she died. So I have lots of fun memories of riding with her in lots of different Cadillacs over the years! 😄👍

I don't suppose that there was a Rambler in there somewhere? That's probably the only one I didn't see that my parents had when I was a kid. 😁
Ramblers were so popular back in the day. I’m surprised I didn’t see any at the show. Maybe the next one. 😎👍

Lol I was kind of wondering the same thing. And I bet there is! 😆👍🕺
