We had a guy from Poland buy a 172S from our facility in Florida, and the guy crated it and shipped it because it was cheaper and wouldn't waste unnecessary hours on the engine.
Or damage our Ozone layer.

It's absurd to risk someone's life or lives to ferry a single engine piston engine airplane over the North Atlantic, or any substantial body of water for that matter. There is so much that can go wrong. Like the bladder tank that split open and started dumping fuel over board and into the fuselage.
As for Cory, he just sees wealth and the chance to rub elbows with the wealthy. He has no comprehension what he's expecting others to do. I imagine one could have drank lemonade from that 206. Yep Cory just sees this as a quick way to make some fast bucks and rub elbows with the rich. Like the Metroliner; he wants to take off with over gross load ferry tanks in minimum visibility. Imagine loosing an engine just after pulling the gear up as you settle back down into zero visibility flying a fuel bomb. That's going to make one hell of a weeny roast!

I don't get it why not stipulate in the contract on a long haul the plane must be thoroughly inspected before you signoff on the delivery. This should be contract one!. Then a separate contract for the actual delivery fees. If Cory has to do the inspection then the client must pay him to do that. Before you stick any of your pilots in a used plane a mechanical inspection and airworthiness directive must be approved. Period!
I know a Swedish guy who crossed the Atlantic like you. But he did it alone in 1927. Imagine the quality of the plane and its engine. What could possibly go wrong?
I could never do what these brave/insane pilots do, mostly 'cause I'd want to be paid more than the plane's WORTH. 😀

Should have had a pre buy inspection. Sounds like they just bought the cheapest one at the time. I had a pre buy inspection and missed stuff. Planes are complicated.

This program is irresponsible. Glamourising as “cowboys of aviation” these foolish, unethical individuals who endanger the lives of others and themselves unnecessarily is DISGUSTING. These so-called “cowboys” need to GROW UP; they deserve whatever happens to them-it’s just a shame they’ll probably harm or kill others when it happens.
These long flights risk damage to our Ozone layer.
