    That moment when you are hoping for an explanation of what the different settings are for time-lapse but you get: how to make a time-lapse, step 1 make times lapse instead...

      @@MatthewVandeputte well the "how" part in the timelapse settings is missing, but thanks for the "help"

    Minimum shutter speed is still limited at 1/1 like S5?

    I have the S51 and I would like to know if the builtin time-lapse features have improved. If so, in what way?

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад +2

      There are a few new things: Settings assist in the timelapse menu to help you set up a shot based on interval/shooting time/video length, an option to create a new folder for each shot, and a 2 second delay start to your timelapse shot. They're small improvements but not worth upgrading just for them. Same features as the GH6 FYI

      I don't see why not, you select which camera to play from and then render the sequence next

      @@MatthewVandeputte what I’m asking is if you put two SD cards in and one SD card fills up and it switches over to the next SD card will it automatically render videos from both automatically is what I’m trying to ask

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад

      @@tracevmiller I'd assume not, if it accesses the full card to read the photos and create a video I'm going to assume here that it will tell you the card is full. Maybe it will try and write to the other one but I doubt the devs have thought ahead that far

    my journey with timelapse started with triggering the shutter button of my canon 1200d camera manually, keeping my digital watch beside to keep consistent interval. next i watched many youtube videos like your channel and came to know about external intervalometer. hell i couldnt afford even the basic one then so i decided to make a diy one myself where i took 2.5m jack from hardware store,duct taped 2 wires and along and i short circuited the thing to trigger the camera. next phase i added a switch to this diy circuit to ease the triggering. i shot many long timelapses and even day to night stretching 3-4 hours standing by the tripod manually triggering the diy circuit (it came down to me counting interval in my mind instead of watch and i became very consistent it.) then one fine day i saw an instagram friend's story for selling his remote intervalometer. that was biggest leap for me in my timelapse journey. being able to leave my camera shooting while i scout around,walk around listening music and enjoying the view while camera shot the thing. till day i have been using the same canon 1200d and same old remote intervalometer to the point now both the equipment are on the verge of giving up on me anyday. very happy yet to have learnt from the bottom up. not sure if anyone is going to read through all of this, if you do get till end do drop a comment letting me know someone actually read it.

      Your comment put a big smile on my face, reminded me of my diy photo trigger days when I made my own photo booth to use at parties! Rented it a few times but then got tired of it and focused more on timelapse haha

    What is a minimal possible fps in Timelapse video mode on gh6?

    • @MatthewVandeputte
      @MatthewVandeputte  Год назад +1

      It has the same features as the S5II, so in S&Q mode you get the range from 1fps to 15fps (double check the video to be sure) and if you disable the Interval in timelapse mode the camera will shoot as many frames continuously as possible.

    • @bizarro659
      @bizarro659 Год назад

      @@MatthewVandeputte thank you, I often use Timelapse video mode on gh5, it’s a fast way to make fast and simple Timelapse with continuous action (moving people or it’s useful for exhibitions or events, for example) without additional photo editing. Unfortunately, it’s only 8 bit, without open gate and minimal fps is only 2 (video will be in 12,5 times faster then usual speed)

      all respect, video was tooo short. this stuff is great; can't get enough of lumix prioritizing timelapse capabilities! woohoo! the internal intervelometer features were responsible for a good 95% of what i used the S5 for. weird how little it gets mentioned if ever in the many S5II reviews i've watched. alas ...thank you, matthew! very much appreciated!
