Australia has had the Kia Carnival since the early 2000s, We also get a 2.2L turbo diesel with the 2021/22 models (as well as the V6); unfortunately no AWD.
With those 2nd row Vip seats, I found it much easier to access the 3rd row by separating the 2 seats furthest apart then using the center space. The area may be small for some but if you fit it is much more convenient than trying to fold the seats forward.
This. I had a previous gen Carnival in Korea, and that’s how my family accessed the third row. I am surprised that this gen’s third row doesn’t have back/forth adjustability as previous gen had it.
That center space is way too small for any adult to walk through. I'm kind of shocked that Kia's engineers didn't have enough forethought to make it easier to access the 3rd row. Big fail on their part.
I cleared over 80 miles on a (relatively curvy) highway on a very rainy day with barely even touching the steering wheel across the whole time. The driving assist features on the latest Kia/Hyundais are insanely good
I'm a Sales Advisor at Southside KIA here in Jacksonville, Florida! If anyone lives near and is interested in the Carnival or a KIA vehicle, feel free to hit me up!
I am pretty sure I watched a review of the Carnival in Korea in which the second row seats had built in massagers. And window screens as well in the second row.
I saw a review where the guy mentioned that he felt a slip in the transmission and that the Kia Carnival may have transmission problems down the road. Did you fill anything in the transmission while test driving?
@@brandondannys-menary3678 I’m not quite sure where I saw it say 6k lbs. still, Miata has 170hp and weighs 2500 lbs. Also, similarly to EV’s, manual transmissions make a vehicle feel more responsive and quicker than it actually is.
Thanks for the review the image quality of your POV is greatly appreciated and cant be overstated. In Canada the top trim is the SX it's identical to the trim you're driving with the exception of the rear entertainment package we have to pay extra to get the screens. I agree regarding the 3rd row seat access it should be easier to enter behind the middle row seats, the side to side adjustment however allows for entry between the middle seats. Regarding the stow and go option in the Pacifica if we're comparing apples to apples the Pinnacle trim doesn't allow for stowing of the middle row. I have an SX on order with the same interior color option can't wait for it to arrive!
Kia makes the second-row captain chairs so massive and heavy to a point that it impacts negatively access to third-row. Even if the captain chairs are pushed all the way to the side of the vehicle, there is not much aisle space between the chairs to get to the third-row. Not very clever design.
@@LamNguyen-sr1sy Yeah, I can't believe how difficult it is to access the 3rd row. The hallmark of a minivan is easy access to the 3rd row, so seeing how difficult it is to access on this minivan is shocking.
For a minivan, it does lack storage near the front console. I get that Kia went with the SUV'ish feel for this, but one of the major usp's of a van is unlimited storage lol
@@alh06 like what? I donr know of many other car brand that completely turned their brand around, everything they come our with is nice with class leading tech. Also very affordable
Omg omg omg EQUINOX, Pacifica, Range Rover, and Kia had a baby lmao thanks for this Honestly the thing in the body style on it looks better than the Chrysler Pacifica, I like the Chrysler Pacifica because they’re for the hip mom, is very very stylish, and rather fast. Interior on the carnival is absolutely stunning though. All the little details do you are on the dash or a very very interesting. I like that everybody switching to the touchscreen, it just looks better Thank god they have a normal shifter and not that stupid knob shifter
Kia has come a looong way. My first car was a Kia sephia from the mid 90s which was their first car I believe. Man it gave me so much trouble lmao. Their sports car looks cool too.
Agreed. It's a lazy effort from Kia, I must say. They should've invested into a brand-new logo without any letters or acronyms. All they did with the new logo is to write the same word "KIA" in a different style. Lost opportunity for sure.
Like the SUV looks, but doesn’t seem to really compete practicality wise with the other minivans. Also way too much gloss plastic. Would just get a Telluride or a better minivan.
I cannot wait to be passed by this thing, as if on fire, by someone that otherwise cannot get anything they want in life...oh, while also loaded to the gills with kids that are either screaming, throwing up, or both. Also, I wish you'd have done this drive like you did the chevy bolt, off center burn-outs, very hard turns. I would also like to see this come in awd, so more local parents can plow it off the road in the winter at 80, like they do all their huge SUVs.

Alright ill say it, the interior looks like a Mercedes.
Wow! Minivans have come a long way since I was a child in my parents minivans…. Haha
Vans are underated. Also, Koreans have been dominating with their new design: Kia and Hyundai
They are truly becoming better than Toyota in terms of design
Many fathers in South Korea want to have KIA CARNIVAL
Got to use those seats at the Autoshow, and they are so amazing!!
The body makes me think a Ford Explorer mated with a Honda Odyssey.
they need to put that cluster/infotainment to telluride for 2023... they have to.
Very ‘Mercedes’ looking dash
Don’t most folks climb through the middle of the seats to get to the back? I’ve never pushed the seats forward to get to the back…
The middle in between the 2nd row seats on the Carnival is a joke, there's literally no room between those massive 2nd row captain's seats.
