That same also goes for my biological mom. I recently lost contact with her bc she was trying to send my brother to jail just because of teenage boy antics. Is she the same or is there another reason she's acting this way? I'm adopted and even tho my biological mom is doing things she's not supposed to...I don't blame her. She has mental issues wich no one can control. It can't be cured, only managed...when I was put up for adoption my biological mom was an alcoholic. But I can't know if she is rn or not. But I miss her a lot...
This song captures Luna's sorrow and anger well. She had every right to be vengeful, especially after 1000 years. However, when Luna was restored in Season 1, she and Celestial were quick to reconcile, so maybe over the course of her incarceration, Luna's Soliloquy slowly turned into Luna's Reply?
Skye Pendragon Interesting perspective... I think you might be right. Since she had to have been pretty pissed during the first hundred years. She might have realized her mistake the more she thought about it, and came to repent.
Guys, does anybody notices this! The Luna's soliloquy takes time at the beginning of her banishment, while Luna's reply takes time near her escape from moon. Celestia's lullaby is first she asks her sister for forgiveness. At first, the next night, her pleas are rejected. But after 1000 years Luna forgave her (Luna's reply). You can see this if you pay attention to lyrics of the songs. In Luna's soliloquy and Lullaby for a princess, princesses sing- 'may this thousand winters' and in Luna's reply she sings-'may these sunless seasons'. You see in two first songs they sing about years (year=moon=winter) that they have to wait to see each other. But in Luna's reply she says sunless seasons, which is obviously name just for winter , because at that time the sunny day is rarity and night has more time than Sun. So she just had to wait till summer (spring and fall aren't princesses speciality). But of course this is fan work it hasn't got anything to do with actual show, and I'm not trying to solve puzzle or question the authors of songs, I'M JUST WRITING MY OPINION. And this is already too long, sorry. (Sorry for my bad English.)
Ahh it sounds so cool XD I really like this song and Luna's reply. I think you and Luna are better characters than Celestia bc you guys have actual personalities and clearly you both have dark sides but yours is more prominent. Plus, Luna's prettier than Celestia and sings better. XD
I've always preferred Luna's Soliloquy over Luna's Reply because she was Nightmare Moon while banished and Soliloquy seems more like Nightmare Moon's. edit: y'all i left this comment when i was 13 can we stop acting like whether something is more canon or not is relevant. i fully disagree w/ my past self. i mean i still prefer this version but there was absolutely no reason to compare two works of art people put effort into like this for no reason. one person chose to focus on the rage and one person decided to focus on the sorrow. they're both equally valid things for luna and/or nightmare moon to be feeling.
I think you misunderstand. Luna's reply is coming from Luna after she realized she made a mistake and misses her sister, when trapped somewhere in Nightmare Moon because she was taken over. Luna's Soliloquy is mostly from when she just became Nightmare Moon and still wants revenge. We know that deep down, Luna missed her sister and wanted forgiveness because of what happened when she finally returned in Season 1. So I don't really understand the hate for Luna's reply...it's Luna's true feelings, she isn't Nightmare Moon...
I think she was more NMM than you think. She must have had deep anger for that anger to morph into Nightmare Moon, and even if it did take over, she must have still felt that anger inside. But this song doesn't only capture her anger, so I'd argue against it being titled nightmare moon's soliloquy. It's a mix of anger, betrayal, and sorrow--all things you'd expect to see from someone who feels wronged by someone they trusted deeply. Also, I don't know where you think the OP was expressing hate for Luna's reply ... the comment only says "I like this one better." A sentiment that I fully agree with. I've got nothing against luna's reply but this one feels more powerful to me.
I like this and lunas reply, but when I listen to this it feels like nightmare moon is singing with luna fading in and out, while in lunas reply its just luna. they are both really good
I think after the long pause, It shifts a few hundred years and Nightmare Moon's control over Luna has lessened, and Luna's original personality starts speaking again. Idk.
@@Attackbow1566 or perhaps maybe after twiight and the others have turned her back to normal and she's had time to think about it is when luna's reply happens. just a thought but not %100 sure. hat do you think?
this is very relatable , actually. people who have been hurt, abused and or abandoned by others in most cases don't forgive those who wounded them so deeply. this is especially the case with those who you are supposed to trust and have your back, like a sibling, a father, a mother, aunt, uncle or even just a close friend. when luna says "may guilt plague you for your great crime" that's just a poetic way of saying "live with the shitty thing you did and I hope it eats at you". for most of my teen years, I was in a very dark place and hoping that my life would end. my family and my school ignored these issues and silenced me when I ever opened up about how i was feeling. i needed help, but i was abandoned when i needed it most. nowadays, my family think everything is nice and happy, i still hold so much resentment towards them for leaving me like that for so long and I hope they remember it.
Lyrics Fate has been cruel and order unkind How could you have sent me away I sit here and gaze into stillness, alone The darkness and silence pervade But here in my prison my thoughts, they won’t fade Of power and glory and praise Till your blinded eyes can see your own lies The stars will recount my last days Once was a pony who’s moon shown so bright The stars were in awe at its glow She smiled and said “surely there is no pony Who’d dare be asleep through this marvelous show.” Yet where were they all? Her subjects She never caught sight of once shadows did fall Their laughter and joy was but a hopeless dream Which grew into nightmares as sun rays chaired all Wait now, sun princess, the night will arise So keep not my moon in its place Tia my judgment was not your’s to give And soon now we’ll both meet our fates Carry my rage oh you shadows of night And carry my sorrow in kind Sister your deed hurt much more than you know The time for my vengeance is nigh The beams of another cast brightly on others Who’s love and affection it drew And there that moon princess watched, shunned by the world As hate filled her heart and unhappiness grew “Why don’t they adore me?” she thought To herself as the other had no right to boast And that selfish pony did nothing to stop The destruction of I who had needed her most Wait now, sun princess, the night will arise So keep not my moon in its place Tia my judgment was not your’s to give And soon now we’ll btw meet our fates. Carry my rage oh you shadows of night And carry my sorrow in kind Sister your deed hurt much more than you know May guilt plague you for your great crime The time for my vengeance is nigh The years now before us Fearful and unknown I never imaged I’d face them on my now May these thousand winters Swiftly pass I pray My pain grows, I can’t know Are you till the same? May all your dreams be sweet tonight Safe behind your veil of sunlight You know not my sadness pain nor are And as you dream I'll break away and meet you there Sleep… ( x3 )
this version makes sense though, Luna was still nightmare moon when she escaped her prison. This particular version also shows her jealousy over her sisters attention for being the ruler of the day which is how Luna fell into the darkness and became Nightmare Moon. So this song is about how Luna still holds resentment towards her sister, over her banishment and over the attention Celestia gets from the other ponies. The lullaby for a princess is Celestia's feelings of Luna's banishment. While Luna's Soliloquy is Luna's feelings during her banishment while she was Nightmare Moon.
I like this version :) In my opinion, i think that Princess Celestia is dreaming, and Luna/ Nightmare Moon are communicating with her in dream land or whatever. Most of the time, Nightmare Moon is telling Princess Celestia the story about Luna (which are shown as flashbacks). Then during the gentle/ sympathetic parts, Luna is singing. At the very end during the "sleeeeep, sleeeep, sleeeeep" part, Nightmare Moon (her and Luna are two separate beings) starts to pull Luna away from her sister. At the very last "sleep", they fade away and during the last instrumental, Celestia wakes up. But thats just my opinion XD
The part “may all ur dreams be sweet tonight safe behind veil of sunlight” is sounds like Luna winning control and the rest is Nightmare Moon and Luna fighting for control and Luna sounds like towards the end she won
What makes this extra special is that is not a song of how much Luna regrets what she did. Most of the bronys do songs or draw pictures where luna regrets what she did as nightmare moon, and its wrong because luna didn't felt bad for what she did while she was still nightmare moon, and here she blamed her sister for being blind, and she felt overshadowed which is what luna feels on the show, (while she was nightmare moon.) This song feels more real and intense
I am in love with this version. To me it represents the struggle between Nightmare Moon and Luna for control, from the pain of being banished to the regret of what happened and wishing she could go to her sister for comfort and forgiveness. So much love and so many rewatch and sing-a-longs ♡♡♡
The dark pony emerged from the shadows, the silver streaks in his mane reflecting the moonlight. His blade shone like a beacon as he drew it, and it glowed brighter than a star. The stallion of shadow stood beside his princess of night, ready to fight alongside her.
I like this version. She was still mad at celestia while she was banished. Not until the darkness inside of her was banished by twilight did she really realize what she did and understand what her sister did and at that time she felt sorry for what she did. So an angry answer to her lullabies would make sense. Love it!
In my opinion, I prefer this over Luna's Reply. Whoever sings Luna in the Reply pitch's WAY too high and it hurts my ears. It's not bad however, I still like it as Luna feels guilt and forgiveness and other factors rather than denial and (more) hurt in this one (I'll get to it). But the voice is more even in this and I like how Luna is still in negative conflict with her sister, for reasons I'm sure we all know. As much as the voice actually plays a big role in me liking this one better, I still enjoy the song and how Luna isn't as guilt-felt and still slightly misguided rather than the other one. Well done
Guys, if you watch WarpOut's Animation of 'Lullaby for a Princess', you'll see that Luna 'let' the shadows into her head, and especially in the comic where Rarity gets taken by the 'cursed' creatures from the moon, you will see that the shadows and the ponies are two different things. 'Luna's Reply' is Luna within her mind that the shadow had taken over, and this is the shadow that fed off of Luna's body and mind singing to 'her' sister Celestia. The shadow and Luna are counterparts, and the shadow is all the vengeance and hatred that got into Luna's "pure" form. They then merged into Nightmare Moon, an upgraded but hate-filled version of Princess Luna.
While I enjoy the lyrics and different interpretations in both Luna's Reply and Luna's Soliloquy, I've always preferred this one a bit. The singers in both versions are pitchy, but I feel overall this cover is more consistent than Reply.
i feel like this shows Luna's side well, the way she felt abandoned by her own kingdom and in turn went to darkness for comfort, and while listening you can somewhat tell that while its mainly nightmare talking, Luna presents herself in the last verse as well as in the chorus a bit. Luna's Reply sounds more like the young mare, and it seems closer to the end of her imprisonment, when Luna breaks free from nightmare to send her sister her apologies and ask for forgiveness
No, even though it sounds like it. Luna was corrupted by Nightmare Moon before being banished to the moon, and she describes herself in a prison and surrounded by loneliness (the moon). She was definitely transformed before this song.
Nightmare was a... most powerful appeareance of Luna, so, she could disappear Celestia at the Summer's Celebratrion, I suppose :) I like Nightmare too ;)
This seems to fit the cannon better than Luna's Reply. When she returned, she was still angry and full of vengeance. It wasn't until after she was defeated, that she apologized. Luna's Reply is more for her return.
guys she was shund by the the hole world and she fell into darkness and could not get out the darkness took over her it was not her falt its its tias falt cuz she took all the lover and affectshon and luna did not have any and so its NOTS lunas falt so the only reson she joined the darkness is she thought it would get her atenchon and by then the darkness took over her by the time she could stop it soooo it was NOT LUNAS FALT so dont blame her
The lyrics is very powerful and beautiful... But still celestia's voice made her song very sad, the voice was strong and soft when needed you could feel her sadness... Luna's voice in this case is missing something... And sometimes it doesnt get to a strong and emotional point so it stays low most of the times, you cant feel rage of hate not even pain... Im not hating it... Its still a good song im just saying how this factor, which is very esential, is missing in this song...
I put the lyrics through Google Translate 4 times. Here's what I got. I dare anyone to make a cover of this song using them. It's a cruel cruel for such purposes as fate What is this ? And I sat there quietly the date on which you can see Silence and darkness go However , this does not correspond to the prison system Praise and glory and power You can see all the way into orbit. I, see the last star . He flashes pony , month , Stars shine with the name. He said laughing , this is "No Pony And you dare to sleep is a great show " If not held At the same time , to see the light , the shadow fell Hopless dream was joy and laughter In silence , the nightmare was the sunlight , So , waiting for the sun , the captain rose The re shaking and settle for that in place of "TIA is not the same, but , in my judgment And when fate now . I take evening anger , Ohio And do not forget the family The nurse , have done more harm Time vegeance Beam, threw himself admirably with others. I drew the love and affection The captain left the world to see the moon and And there was a heart of wealth is hate, and brought the soul of the poor people , You him? " Do not love me " Why Others boast that no And, darling, did not stop the elephant Destruction is more work, Thus , the increase in the night , waiting for a prince of the sun The re shaking and settle for that in place of "TIA is not the same, but , in my judgment And when fate now . I take evening anger , Ohio And do not forget the family My sister has done more harm than good for you As mentioned above , poor guilt Near the time vegaence In the coming years , And the fear of the unknown In fact , please do not It is the face of my This winter , thousands It is easy to ask Increase in pain , I can not say Still the same? Night Sweet Dreams Sun safety Well , do not even know sorrow and pain Dream, to give it to you to cover , can not be separated Sleep...
Nightmare Moon mmh, that's true hm. Although, it would've much calmer if instead you searched for one of the small group of night lovers, such as I. Oh well. The past is in the past.
i'm back after years, this is relatable.. but i'm the older sister being overshadowed by my precious sister whose loved by my family. I wish i have the right to be vengeful and confront my sister instead of always saying sorry
When you really think about it neither princess was in the wrong Tia did what she had to, to protect the kingdom. While Luna was only trying to seek the attention of her subjects who didn't seem to care about the night time.
Bro she literally used dark magic to try and imprison her sister, plunge the planet into an eternal night that would end all life, and all just because of the fact she was jealous. Instead of just... talking to her sister or subjects.
@@smitefulaxe1344 Jealousy and depression can make you do terrible regretful things. Plus Tia had noticed she was feeling this way as it says in the song and she still did nothing, nothing to help Luna. Luna feel as though she hated and being rejected by her sister and subjects and in her despair gives in to nightmare moon's request to help her.
there´s also a version with Luna regretting what she did honestly not sure which version i love the most Celestia´s version Luna´s regret answer or this version they´re all beautiful
I love both Luna's soliloquy and Luna's reply. And I love both Celestia and Luna. It makes sense that Luna would still be very angry and resentful towards her sister right after being banished, but she was in the moon for 1000 years. She had a lot of time to think about what she did and what happened which is why I like Luna's reply a lot too bc it displays her guilt towards what she did when she realized it was wrong of her. I think nightmare moon was still apart of her mentally even after the Mane6 defeated nightmare moon when she returned for vengeance. But Luna isn't just nightmare moon and nightmare moon isn't Luna. I believe that Luna has two sides to her, Luna the side that loves her sister and feels bad for what she did, and Nightmare Moon the side that took over when Luna started resenting Celestia. Everyone has a good and bad side to them, but you're both and not one or the other. That's what I believe Luna is like, she just let her bad side (nightmare moon) take over. I feel it's only right that Celestia and Luna forgave each other right away after the Mane6 defeated Nightmare Moon. They had a lot of time to think about it over all. And while it may seem harsh that Celestia banished Luna, that's just it. Celestia didn't have the heart to fight her little sister, but she couldn't let her terrorize all of equestria. It was only right that Celestia banished her, but I'm sure with Celestia's personality she felt very bad for doing so. But what Nightmare Moon was doing was wrong, bringing eternal night to ponies? Not allowing them sunshine? And like I said before, that's why I liked Luna's reply. It shows how guilty Luna felt which is what she should be feeling after attempting to do what she did. I also don't agree with the opinion that one sister is stronger than the other. One was meant to raise the sun and one was meant to raise the moon after all. They were the very meaning of balance. It's only right that their powers are of the same caliber too. It was only when Nightmare Moon came into play was one sister stronger than the other. But then as we see again in Starlight Glimmers dream with Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker, their powers are well matched once again. Both sisters always needed each other. There is no such thing as one being better/more powerful than the other.
I oove the lyrics but the vocals are pretty flat at times and man, the recording equipment could ise work. The audio tops out at times while the singer goes flat and it's rough to listen to. Would love to see a remaster of this bersion someday
can I use some of the lyrics, please? I'll give you credit and put a link to your video in the description! I'm begging! PLEASE!!!!!!!! I love this song!
I think this was done really well, I like how you didn't just change up a few words, call it a reply, and be done. you put a lot of effort in it and I really like it. thumbs up to u👍
Sadly this isn’t their cover. It was done by the channel “Fauxsynder”. This person just reuploaded it with lyrics added and ended up with 3 times the views of the original ):
They give credit in the description but honestly I don’t think that’s nearly enough if you’re basically stealing someone else’s hard work and profiting more from it than the actual creator ever did. Of course I’m not salty at you at all (I’m salty towards the uploader of this vid), it just really frustrates and saddens me to see this happen so often to small creators ),:
Muy buen video, una de mis canciones favoritas sin duda, y sobre lo que dijiste de el dueto de Lullaby for a princess.... pues yo me estoy encargando de hacer una adaptación de esta canción y del dueto, que a mi parecer, es mejor que los que están en Internet, no sea por la letra o la canción, sino que se esta buscando las voces similares a la de los personajes, algo para que sea único ;D
This song (as well as Luna's reply and lullaby for a princess) reminded me of Cassandra and Rapunzel from Tangled the series or if voiced by men it could apply to Anakin and Obi Wan in the Star Wars prequels. Especially the third one. Edit: I think Cassandra and Rapunzel are a better metaphor because of the fact that they have sun and moon powers as well, making the song fitting in that sense as well.
just want to say that just because somone agrees with your criticism regardless of who they are, and you've worded it with precisely executed vocabulary, does not mean you are correct. consider perhaps this evaluation, this version of the song is much more accurate to canon events because nightmare moon did return to get her revenge. the back and forth is like an inner struggle trying to justify and understand what happened and trying to figure out if you were right or wrong with judgement swaying in favored of the former because of the intense emotional state you are in.
I prefer this song and I agree with this version I was not Celestia judgement to give due to the fact she is a major factor into her actions. Luna was denied so much happiness by Celestia for no good reason and Nightmare Moon was in fact Celestia’s creation due to her actions and pain she brought to her sister
A 1000 year sentence for trying to get some appreciation for what she does. Though Tia made the best decision out of the bad. The only other option was to beat her. That would've only made things worse. Despite Luna being enraged and not exactly sane, she was not trying to hurt anyone, she just wanted to get some attention. Anger may be a very menacing thing when weaponized, but its purpose is almost always has nothing to do with hurting someone, just putting things right. Luna doesn't even try to hurt Twilight's crew, just sway them away. She also doesn't hurt Celestia, just sends her to the Moon, to taste her own medicine. She also never quits her duty of watching over the dreams of her subjects, since we never hear of any changes since her return. Anger, however, is easily transformable into hatred, now this one is very different. Hatred is a distinct weapon, it's only purpose is to hurt others. It also doesn't fade away anywhere as easy as anger does. With anger you just need to make a person think about what they are doing for just a single moment for the emotion to fade. With hatred, this isn't going to work, because her whole purpose of existence would've been revenge. If Celestia responded with force, beating her up once 1000 years later wouldn't have been enough. More to it, Twilight and the rest of the team would've likely been dead, as they would be standing in the way of Luna's vengeance and she wouldn't have stopped before a few casualties. Tia did the right thing. Sometimes there are only bad options available. What's required is to choose the one that'll hurt less.
love it, pease do a luna's soliquoy, lullaby for a princess duet as in this song with celestia's version of the song, even if its just the music with typed lyrics, i need it for me and my friend fo a talent show, and its not coming up for a while, shes doing celestia and im doing luna/nightmare moon!!!! thanks in advance!
I love this song! Luna your awesome don't forget that, and your not the only won who likes the night you know lots of people do besides I know how it feels to have your older sibling take the glory for ur credit your not alone
I like this version but it has a few flat notes and some sharp ones and this one is giving Nightmare night more focus on her vengeance which is appropriate but i like reply more because Luna inst supposed to be this old and it has a note of regret to it
I want to say I like it, but I have some big problems with it that really started becoming apparent once I thought about them. Celestia's lullaby for a princess is about how her arrogance and neglect cost her dearly and how she regrets it all and longs for when they can be reunited because she still loves and misses her sister. This version, however, is saying "no, you don't understand the magnitude of your mistake, how much you wronged me, how society wronged me; you don't get to herald yourself as the tragic paragon, the price is still yet to be paid". That's a really good concept, but I felt the execution was a little schizophrenic. How were you trying to address the relationship between Luna and Nightmare Moon? It's really unclear. There was too much of a "vow of doom" vibe to just be Luna speaking, but there was too much of the "this is the job I pride myself in and am justifiably upset that it goes so unappreciated" to be just Nightmare Moon independently of Luna. If you wanted to progress from Luna into Nightmare Moon to reflect how she was growing increasingly resentful over time, I don't feel that was done very well because those vengeance vows came in pretty early the later parts had too much gentleness and an apparent lack of malice- only to go right back into condemning Celestia for her mistake (there was back-and-forth is what I'm saying). The "gentleness" I detected would have been fine if it was that slimy deceptive calm of a villain, but it wasn't; it just sounded devoid of hot-blooded wrath despite her words stating wrathful desires- which is inauthentic to the canon because we've seen that Nightmare Moon is full of wrath and malice. You relied too much on lyrics and not enough on tone and delivery. If she feels angry and cheated, make her sound angry and cheated. If not completely separate beings, were you trying to say that Nightmare Moon is a part of Luna but not completely indistinct, kind of like a Two-Face and Harvey Dent type deal (multiple personality disorder, except without either being dominant and maybe some deliberate ambiguity as to where one ends and the other begins)? Or were you trying to say that there's no separation between Luna and Nightmare Moon, that they are a single entity and that Luna genuinely thinks and feels all this? If the latter was the angle you were going, were you trying to portray her as tragic yet unsympathetic, like a number of comic book villains? If so, that's a rather unique angle for the Luna/Nightmare Moon relationship, albeit inauthentic to the canon, but I can overlook that and appreciate it for what it is... or rather I would if it wasn't for the poor delivery and tone with an over-reliance on lyrics as I mentioned in the previous paragraph. And in some parts one feels sorry for her anyway, like when she says "I never imagined I'd face [the years before me] on my own". If that wasn't your intention and you were actually trying to portray her as sympathetic to some degree, you did a poor job of that too. Words like "we'll both meet our fates" and "may guilt plague you for your great crime" can be defended as sympathetic if Nightmare Moon is supposed to be a separate entity unrepresentative of Luna (who's actually the sympathetic one since her mind is being controlled by a corrupted being who isn't like her), but not otherwise (then it just sounds like aggressive spite). If you were in fact trying to have a distinction between Luna and Nightmare Moon as separate entities, I don't feel you invoked enough of a sense of "these aren't her words, Luna doesn't mean that, that's Nightmare Moon talking" that would be needed. And what parts I could try to distinguish as "Luna's" or "Nightmare Moon's" seemed to have a bit too abrupt of shifts at times. If that abruptness was deliberate, you really needed visual aides to help the audience keep it straight. I suppose in some cases, that apparent abruptness might be parts that could be interpreted multiple ways (good or bad), but that's a stretch. The official animation for Celestia's Lullaby for a Princess had visuals to let the audience know when it was the present and when it was the past (or the present as of when the flashback took place, 1000 years ago). That, and getting confused wasn't really an issue anyway because we know it's always Celestia talking, it's the same Celestia in both periods. But here, there's neither visual aide to help us keep straight past and present (so it's just a bit jarring to hear her use both past tense and present tense) nor visual aide to help us keep straight "this is Luna talking" and "this is Nightmare Moon talking". I'm not saying to have a fully animated sequence of actions and backgrounds like Lullaby for a princess, just some way to help keep straight what's what and who's who. Even if you were just doing the Harvey Dent/Two-Face type relationship I mentioned earlier, having visual aides to subtly shift between the two when their respective voices were heard would have emphasized her not-completely-distinct dual nature and that Nightmare Moon is in fact a part of her. I honestly can't tell how brilliant or not you were trying to be.
Well in 'defence' of it, I personally feel like this is set not to long (maybe over a couple months, even years) after her banishment so the lyrics are a Luna who is still bitter and angry at equestria and Celestia for neglecting her and her night and banishing her, (and I think making one of the only thing she loved -the moon- her prison.) It was the anger and bitterness that made her turn into nightmare moon after all. But like the more redeemed Luna (like show Luna and fanon Luna) has spent a thousand years thinking over her acts and crimes against equestria, she probably realised what she had done was wrong but at that stage it was too late to reverse it.
+Elfos64 Your opinion is great but in this version, shes basically saying "You cant do what you used to." She's hurt. Her sister didn't pay attention to her. She was ignored and Celestia didn't notice at all. Luna wanted to see the smiling faces as Celestia did when she ruled over the kingdom. It is showing what Luna has felt and how she feels during this time period. Celestia was just doing her duty but didn't realize that she was hurting Luna. She finally realized after Luna turned into Nightmare Moon. Yes they both have their wrongs and that is what I took from it. (YES MY PERSONAL OPINION) Celestia and Luna both have their issues and they're just trying to get it out.
Smh.. I feel like this, (This song, Luna's reply, and Lullaby for a princess.) is a set of stories. Lullaby is Celestia REALIZING her faults, This song Luna is still upset, Lets say this is when she DOES NOT realize how much Celestia realizes her wrong, and could still be suuuper mad. Though in Luna's Reply ( ruclips.net/video/P6T7v74UAWs/видео.html ) She is a different and kinder song, Possibly how she's realized how that Celestia realizes, and Luna possibly sees that Celestia did it for the good of Equestria? I dunno, its just a theory.
Notice Me Genki Literally, the entire reason Celestia had to banish Luna was because Luna rebelled. The only reason she did that was because she was tired of Celestia hogging the attention and being a selfish brat. Yeah, sure, Celestia realized her mistake, but it was too late. Luna had already been taken over by her much darker side, Nightmare Moon. So yeah, that's how Celestia's selfish.
Aquahouse Celestia was NOT selfish. None of this was her fault. Luna was just jealous of Celestia because she got more attention than her. That's literally it. What was Celestia supposed to do? Tell everyone in equestria to be nocturnal? Don't think so. Luna is an adult and needs to fix her own problems. Celestia can't be held responsible for Luna's hissy-fit.
Pinkiechu animations 1) Celestia makes the world turn. Without her going to meetings and functions and such nothing would get done. Her presence makes everypony feel safe and connected to each other. 2) I have watched that episode and like I said Celestia did nothing wrong. She attempted to show Luna love and affection when she could. On top of that Celestia felt just as unappreciated by her sister as Luna did but did Celestia turn into Day Breaker when she felt sad? No she didn't. She, like a true princess, knew that her feelings came second to the wellbeing of her people. 3) Celestia is not weak. She is made of iron. She suffers constantly inside but powers through it with a smile. She sends Twilight and her friends to fix problems in order to shape them into protectors of equestria. She knows she can't protect all of equestria by herself anymore. Being the one who has to fix all of equestria's problems and dangers is incredibly draining. Along with the elements she did just that for a very long time. But with the help of Twilight and her friends the job of protecting everypony is better managed and better executed. Well done Celestia. Don't see Luna battling for the safety of equestria now do you? Did luna help at all when chrysalis attacked the Crystal Empire the first time? No, she was mia through the whole episode. At least Celestia tried. 4) Celestia did not make her sister turn evil. Luna did that to herself.
“My pain grows, I can’t know
Are you still the same?”
This line, it’s giving me chills
That same also goes for my biological mom. I recently lost contact with her bc she was trying to send my brother to jail just because of teenage boy antics. Is she the same or is there another reason she's acting this way? I'm adopted and even tho my biological mom is doing things she's not supposed to...I don't blame her. She has mental issues wich no one can control. It can't be cured, only managed...when I was put up for adoption my biological mom was an alcoholic. But I can't know if she is rn or not. But I miss her a lot...
It captures the feeling of missing someone you haven't seen in God knows how long really well
@@laylamia I understand
This song captures Luna's sorrow and anger well. She had every right to be vengeful, especially after 1000 years. However, when Luna was restored in Season 1, she and Celestial were quick to reconcile, so maybe over the course of her incarceration, Luna's Soliloquy slowly turned into Luna's Reply?
Skye Pendragon Interesting perspective... I think you might be right. Since she had to have been pretty pissed during the first hundred years. She might have realized her mistake the more she thought about it, and came to repent.
Ruby Rose I think it was a combo of EOH and Celestia's honest plea
yes I felt very upset as thou said
Or, Luna's Soliloquy is Nightmare Moon's version and Luna's answer is Celestial sister's (Luna's) version?
The mlp version seems so fake. What would you do if your sister trapped you in the moon for 1000 years?
Guys, does anybody notices this! The Luna's soliloquy takes time at the beginning of her banishment, while Luna's reply takes time near her escape from moon. Celestia's lullaby is first she asks her sister for forgiveness. At first, the next night, her pleas are rejected. But after 1000 years Luna forgave her (Luna's reply).
You can see this if you pay attention to lyrics of the songs. In Luna's soliloquy and Lullaby for a princess, princesses sing- 'may this thousand winters'
and in Luna's reply she sings-'may these sunless seasons'.
You deserve more likes because you are so right
Omg
Correctimondo bud
Don't worry 'bout it
Sophia Fatimah I agree with you
I love when it says,'the time of my vengeance is nigh' Luna is joined by another voice, gave me chills
A good thing to know, thank you Noghtmare Moon
+Lilly Markus i think it was celestia? cuz if you listen to teh duet it's celestia.... not trying to say mean its just....trying to help...... :)
I'm I heard something at one part as the feel changed to more sorry than angry so at the end I think it was luna
Ahh it sounds so cool XD I really like this song and Luna's reply. I think you and Luna are better characters than Celestia bc you guys have actual personalities and clearly you both have dark sides but yours is more prominent. Plus, Luna's prettier than Celestia and sings better. XD
Khloe G Me too! I seriously love Luna! More than any of the characters.. she's actually the reason I watch MLP
"As you dream, I'll break away and meet you there.
Sleeeeeep....
Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep....
Sleep"
What a very unsettling threat
Same bruh
CrAzyW3irdo same. I never imagined after the Banishment, Luna or Nightmare Moon would be very guilty or upset and “please forgive me sister”
Same
I think you misunderstand.
Sometimes I feel guilt for having those feelings and thoughts because I know they are my family yet they hurt me
I was just cast aside and basically put in the shadow my whole life and now that I have the spotlight no one cares
Glad to know Im not the only one who relates
Lyrics
Fate has been cruel and order unkind
How could you have sent me away
I sit here and gaze into stillness, alone
The darkness and silence pervade
But here in my prison my thoughts, they won’t fade
Of power and glory and praise
Till your blinded eyes can see your own lies
The stars will recount my last days
Once was a pony who’s moon shown so bright
The stars were in awe at its glow
She smiled and said “surely there is no pony
Who’d dare be asleep through this marvelous show.”
Yet where were they all? Her subjects
She never caught sight of once shadows did fall
Their laughter and joy was but a hopeless dream
Which grew into nightmares as sun rays chaired all
Wait now, sun princess, the night will arise
So keep not my moon in its place
Tia my judgment was not your’s to give
And soon now we’ll both meet our fates
Carry my rage oh you shadows of night
And carry my sorrow in kind
Sister your deed hurt much more than you know
The time for my vengeance is nigh
The beams of another cast brightly on others
Who’s love and affection it drew
And there that moon princess watched, shunned by the world
As hate filled her heart and unhappiness grew
“Why don’t they adore me?” she thought
To herself as the other had no right to boast
And that selfish pony did nothing to stop
The destruction of I who had needed her most
Wait now, sun princess, the night will arise
So keep not my moon in its place
Tia my judgment was not your’s to give
And soon now we’ll btw meet our fates.
Carry my rage oh you shadows of night
And carry my sorrow in kind
Sister your deed hurt much more than you know
May guilt plague you for your great crime
The time for my vengeance is nigh
The years now before us
Fearful and unknown
I never imaged
I’d face them on my now
May these thousand winters
Swiftly pass I pray
My pain grows, I can’t know
Are you till the same?
May all your dreams be sweet tonight
Safe behind your veil of sunlight
You know not my sadness pain nor are
And as you dream I'll break away and meet you there
Sleep… ( x3 )
Oof we already have lyrics
But anyway,Thanks
The lyrics are a bit hard too read
@@rodrigosantanadeoliveira7277 They could be used for singing it on your own
this version makes sense though, Luna was still nightmare moon when she escaped her prison.
This version is 100% more legit. lol
Good opinion. You've got one believer.
I always imagined Luna singing this back to Celestia after Lullaby for a Princess. Celestia hears it and her heart just breaks
Most of the bronys do songs or draw pictures where luna regrets what she did as nightmare moon, and its wrong because luna didn't felt bad for what she did while she was still nightmare moon, and here she blamed her sister for being blind, and she felt overshadowed which is what luna feels on the show, (while she was nightmare moon.) This song feels more real and intense
yep
BOOM intimacy
I think luna regretted because it was nightmare moon who was in full control not luna
I am in love with this version. To me it represents the struggle between Nightmare Moon and Luna for control, from the pain of being banished to the regret of what happened and wishing she could go to her sister for comfort and forgiveness. So much love and so many rewatch and sing-a-longs ♡♡♡
I just watched this once right now and I don't see anything about the personality struggle but I love this version! and will look for what you mention
I definitely like this version of Luna's reply more.
I'm with Luna 100%! Gather children of the night, never hide! Let your stars shine bright.
The dark pony emerged from the shadows, the silver streaks in his mane reflecting the moonlight. His blade shone like a beacon as he drew it, and it glowed brighter than a star. The stallion of shadow stood beside his princess of night, ready to fight alongside her.
I know but I thought that was a bad idea
Well done
I agree
Ya the voice of Reply was way too high and it too the smoothness away making it difficult to listen to
I feel like I'm her right now I hate my older sister and always will.
Wow. Ok so I have to admit this is the first time I heard this song I heard Luna's reply but never this. It's magnificent.
They then merged into Nightmare Moon, an upgraded but hate-filled version of Princess Luna.
luna is my #1 favourite pony out of allllllllllllllllllll of the other ponies :)
:)
MsNotNormal I like pinkie pie😊
This is more possible than Luna's Reply, I love it :D (Luna's reply was good, but this one follows the story better)
While I enjoy the lyrics and different interpretations in both Luna's Reply and Luna's Soliloquy, I've always preferred this one a bit. The singers in both versions are pitchy, but I feel overall this cover is more consistent than Reply.
I don't even like MLP but I freaking love this...
Same
This is beautiful! Why have I heard before?
The celestia version?
i feel like this shows Luna's side well, the way she felt abandoned by her own kingdom and in turn went to darkness for comfort, and while listening you can somewhat tell that while its mainly nightmare talking, Luna presents herself in the last verse as well as in the chorus a bit. Luna's Reply sounds more like the young mare, and it seems closer to the end of her imprisonment, when Luna breaks free from nightmare to send her sister her apologies and ask for forgiveness
I feel like this song represents the Luna before Nightmare Moon.
I believe that it was really supposed to, since the words obviously have some jealousy behind them.
No, even though it sounds like it. Luna was corrupted by Nightmare Moon before being banished to the moon, and she describes herself in a prison and surrounded by loneliness (the moon). She was definitely transformed before this song.
You Celestia! Will pay!
Don't worry, Luna, Bronies love you!
Brony Frozen i actually prefer nightmare moon over both luna and tia and i am a brony so... :3
Nightmare was a... most powerful appeareance of Luna, so, she could disappear Celestia at the Summer's Celebratrion, I suppose :)
I like Nightmare too ;)
Brony Frozen what if Celestia just couldn't stand facing Luna after 100 years and that's why she disappeared? :)
That makes sense :)
Brony Frozen whoops meant 1000, but she also disappeared for a little bit while facing Chrysalis hmmm....
4:06 this part literally gives me chills especially cause it has an echo-y effect to it which the lullaby for a Princess doesn't have.
This song is beautiful. I love it. It's so chilling and filled with such pain
This seems to fit the cannon better than Luna's Reply. When she returned, she was still angry and full of vengeance. It wasn't until after she was defeated, that she apologized. Luna's Reply is more for her return.
Wow such a powerful and sad song, I think all these videos are turning me into a softie *sniff* and great job with the lyrics.
guys she was shund by the the hole world and she fell into darkness and could not get out the darkness took over her it was not her falt its its tias falt cuz she took all the lover and affectshon and luna did not have any and so its NOTS lunas falt so the only reson she joined the darkness is she thought it would get her atenchon and by then the darkness took over her by the time she could stop it soooo it was NOT LUNAS FALT so dont blame her
The part at the end is my favorite part because Luna's like "yeah sleep soundly tonight because your not going to have the pleasure again very soon."
Ikr. Was i the only obe who heard her whisper da last sleep?
The lyrics is very powerful and beautiful... But still celestia's voice made her song very sad, the voice was strong and soft when needed you could feel her sadness...
Luna's voice in this case is missing something... And sometimes it doesnt get to a strong and emotional point so it stays low most of the times, you cant feel rage of hate not even pain...
Im not hating it... Its still a good song im just saying how this factor, which is very esential, is missing in this song...
YAY!! Someone finally uploaded the version from the duet! this one is so much better than the other version. she was too nice in the other version.
YES FINALLY THE COMMENT SECTION AGREES WITH MEEEEEEEE YUSH
I'm loving this song. I can relate to it in a way no one would understand.
You would be surprised how much many people do understand, but chose to ignore it. Ignorance is a common thing, sadly.
@@DeerBlueberryAlastor I see. Alright. Reprhasing. I relate in a way my family won't understand.
Dude... how on earth did I not know about the soliloquy and response? this is too damn good!!!
I think luna sings louder and better than tia
Gloria Fire Thank you.
Yeah
Well...it's a _lullaby_ and still, and think Celestia's was more powerful. Someone should do a cover putting more feeling into it...
i love evil i always go for the bad ones
The bad guys always have fun
Alexander Lexiel yup
Jennifer Vagata thank you
there has to be a balenc to be true pace
+Nightmare Moon Hello Night. How is your *night?*
Wish someone would make an animated vid for luna's part of the song... Like they did celestias
I put the lyrics through Google Translate 4 times. Here's what I got. I dare anyone to make a cover of this song using them.
It's a cruel cruel for such purposes as fate
What is this ?
And I sat there quietly the date on which you can see
Silence and darkness go
However , this does not correspond to the prison system
Praise and glory and power
You can see all the way into orbit.
I, see the last star .
He flashes pony , month ,
Stars shine with the name.
He said laughing , this is "No Pony
And you dare to sleep is a great show "
If not held
At the same time , to see the light , the shadow fell
Hopless dream was joy and laughter
In silence , the nightmare was the sunlight ,
So , waiting for the sun , the captain rose
The re shaking and settle for that in place of
"TIA is not the same, but , in my judgment
And when fate now .
I take evening anger , Ohio
And do not forget the family
The nurse , have done more harm
Time vegeance
Beam, threw himself admirably with others.
I drew the love and affection
The captain left the world to see the moon and
And there was a heart of wealth is hate, and brought the soul of the poor people ,
You him? " Do not love me " Why
Others boast that no
And, darling, did not stop the elephant
Destruction is more work,
Thus , the increase in the night , waiting for a prince of the sun
The re shaking and settle for that in place of
"TIA is not the same, but , in my judgment
And when fate now .
I take evening anger , Ohio
And do not forget the family
My sister has done more harm than good for you
As mentioned above , poor guilt
Near the time vegaence
In the coming years ,
And the fear of the unknown
In fact , please do not
It is the face of my
This winter , thousands
It is easy to ask
Increase in pain , I can not say
Still the same?
Night Sweet Dreams
Sun safety
Well , do not even know sorrow and pain
Dream, to give it to you to cover , can not be separated
Sleep...
Thanks, but unfortunately my main language is Spanish, in addition to what I'm spending right now is to subtitles

Okay.
i wanna make a cover 4 this lol
So do I but I don't have time. DAMN YOU INTERNET!!!!
:p i can do it 4 u
I miss my dear Luna... my princess Rachel
She sounds pretty angry...
Nightmare Moon mmh, that's true hm. Although, it would've much calmer if instead you searched for one of the small group of night lovers, such as I. Oh well. The past is in the past.
+Nightmare Moon lol nightmare your as mad as Goldy when he saw puple guy
She seems mad yet she misses Celestia a little bit
Nightmare Moon Good, as long as you love your sister its ok, but just remember, its not your or Celestias fault. I love night better btw ^_^
Nightmare Moon I know, "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep" was a very good episode, it was not your or Celestia's fault. Just blame the evil magic.
I really love that you made luna angry towards her sister but that she still cares about her.
They have a animation on 'lullaby for a princess' now I say that it's time for Luna's reply AND soliloquy.
a villian is just a victim whose story hasn't been told
4:06 gave me chills...
4:07 my favorite part!
wow esto es demasiado increíble!
es como la luna pesadilla fue tomando lentamente durante luna mientras que en la luna!
gran trabajo con las letras!
i'm back after years, this is relatable.. but i'm the older sister being overshadowed by my precious sister whose loved by my family. I wish i have the right to be vengeful and confront my sister instead of always saying sorry
Well, this is quite a lot darker than Luna's reply. I like the idea of her not giving up, though.
Oh my goodness! I don't know if I ever said anything before, but thank you for making this! You did a beautiful job with it :3
Thank you very much!
Alexander Lexiel. Can you do luna's reply plz i relly love it better than this
When you really think about it neither princess was in the wrong Tia did what she had to, to protect the kingdom.
This sounds more like Nightmare Moon Singing whilst Luna's Reply is Luna trapped
Oh gosh.That was so Beautiful!
This song just gets better and better
Beautifully sung
I mean beautiful song
Oh I love this so much! I love my moony shes one of my favorites.
Good job on the video! It deserves so many more views and likes! :D I love it!
Was I the only one singing along? I couldn't help it! It's so catchy! I love it!
Nope i was singing too 😂
I was also singing along. I love this song.
Yes.
I think this was done really well, I like how you didn't just change up a few words, call it a reply, and be done. you put a lot of effort in it and I really like it. thumbs up to u👍
I love your cover, I need it on Spotify 😭🤚
All true but who are you referring to?
This song is so good. I love it, its very good to listen to. It makes me emotional.
Chills all up and down my spine and limbs.
Chills. Literal chills.
Even though Luna doesn't forgive her sister... she still loves and misses her dearly.
Best version. Using it in my D&D campaign
love it, pease do a luna's soliquoy, lullaby for a princess duet as in this song with celestia's version of the song, even if its just the music with typed lyrics, i need it for me and my friend fo a talent show, and its not coming up for a while, shes doing celestia and im doing luna/nightmare moon!!!! thanks in advance!
I mean its kinda ice to know that she at least still cares about her after all shes done to her
I love this song! Luna your awesome don't forget that, and your not the only won who likes the night you know lots of people do besides I know how it feels to have your older sibling take the glory for ur credit your not alone
So much better than the popular Lunas reply
Really good job!
Thanks
No Prob.
My opinion on who's singing is it's mostly NMM,but the lines near the end are Luna
I thought some lines at the end were Tia
oh my gosh, so good!
Luna Squad, 2017 who's watching?
I like this version but it has a few flat notes and some sharp ones and this one is giving Nightmare night more focus on her vengeance which is appropriate but i like reply more because Luna inst supposed to be this old and it has a note of regret to it
Hi lost girl I'm lost pony
I would like to see animation for this, maybe sort of paralleling the lullaby for a princess. That would be really pretty.
I love this song good job
***** yes we love u, especially my cuzin and I. Your'e the best pony ever!!!! Chrysalis shall wallow before your glory with the dogs!!!!
Gosh I cried a bit to this song It has so much emotion in it
Damn this is 7 years already...
She looks so young-
I want to say I like it, but I have some big problems with it that really started becoming apparent once I thought about them.
+Alexander Andersson Yes, in the description is the link
Well in 'defence' of it, I personally feel like this is set not to long (maybe over a couple months, even years) after her banishment so the lyrics are a Luna who is still bitter and angry at equestria and Celestia for neglecting her and her night and banishing her, (and I think making one of the only thing she loved -the moon- her prison.)
It was the anger and bitterness that made her turn into nightmare moon after all.
But like the more redeemed Luna (like show Luna and fanon Luna) has spent a thousand years thinking over her acts and crimes against equestria, she probably realised what she had done was wrong but at that stage it was too late to reverse it.
Lucy Fleming What you stated sounds like concept. My issue wasn't with the concept, it was with the execution; I explicitly stated as such.
So...Much...Opinion...
(YES MY PERSONAL OPINION) Celestia and Luna both have their issues and they're just trying to get it out.
i like this song it's so beautiful
Either way, I love both songs!
I love this it's more like from nightmare moons point of view but it's more lunas point of view in lunas reply
i must say it's one of my fav's its solo well done and one more thing PUT THIS ON ITUNES I WANT IT ON MY IPOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This comment made me feel extremely nostalgic. RIP IPOD 😭
I love Luna, Celestia is selfish jerk sometimes
Derpy Hooves I agree
Typhoona Typhlosion care to tell me how Celestia's selfish?
Notice Me Genki
Literally, the entire reason Celestia had to banish Luna was because Luna rebelled.
Pinkiechu animations
1) Celestia makes the world turn.
