He's not an electrician, but he plays one on RUclips. This has to be the most concise, clear, and well presented electrical vid done on a bus build. Anybody wanting to learn something is going to be able to do it here. Strong work Justin!!
Nicely done. It's always a great feeling when you get an electrical system together, start throwing switches, and everything works. Victron is the best
Always that first switch flip after completing the project and testing the result. I have the same hesitation when I used to do commercial espresso machine rehabs as a hobby. Your bus looks reeeally nice. 💯✌️
You can actually find everything I recommend at www.tinyurl.com/busbuildspreadsheet. But yes I rccomend the Bosch 6 gallon point of use electric water heater.
The next big breakthrough for this kind of endeavor will be retractable solar awnings. I don't rv but I sail, and I can't wait to retrofit my boat with solar sails
solar sails would be so sweet for boats. if i could have a solar powered electric motor with battery backup to supplement the wind i think i'd be on the water
OMG. You have done it again! So what's the most you could think to max out for a short bus with 4x4 lift and overland trailer combo? ...asking for a friend...
But what about useing the alternator on the engine to charge when moving? How much of the load could be shifted off the battery banks and recharged doing so?
What will the calculations be like to drive the schoolies with electric motors? (rip out the engine) Maybe a heavy generator as back up. 🤔🤔 That would be a dream.
If Tesla can make an electric 18 Wheeler it definitely can be done. Would require an incredible amount of batteries and a great network of chargers. Electric delivery vans are coming soon. I think that's the next step.
With the inverter does it have to be plugged into shore power to work? I’ve got my system all installed and everything works (the only thing i don’t have is the lynx distributor, i just used normal positive and negative bus bars) and everything works great when plugged into 50amp shore power but the inverter doesn’t turn on when I’m not plugged into shore power. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, any tips?
@@MobileDwellings yes i do, i have 2 12v batteries wired in series for 24v, the inverter is victron multiplus 3000w 24v. the batteries are connected to bus bars that connect to the inverter battery posts, everything runs smooth when connected to shore power but when I'm not connected to shore power only my 12v fuse box works but my inverter won't turn on or push power to my 24v breaker box
I'm sorry you're having a tough time. Unfortunately I don't do free consulting work but you can get help from myself and Chuck Cassady at skooliesupport.com
Here is the link for 15% off Lion Energy batteries. Thanks! tinyurl.com/4zknpa57

Thanks Jeff. Glad that comes across! It's hard to know if I'm being too fast and furious sometimes.
A whole lot of information in such a short video but very good explanation of how it’s wired and why!!
Haha yeah sorry it's a lot at once!

Yes! So glad it usually works out!

Haha yeah you never know what's gonna happen but it usually works out just fine. Thanks!
Great job. ✌️
You are so wonderful at explaining an sharing so helpful and kind thanku so much have a beautiful blessed weekend much love and God bless always x
Thanks so much Wendy!!!

Muy buen trabajo. Saludos desde Chile!
Nice make sure to place lots of black tourmaline rocks for the emf radiation 👍
Planning to do all electric/solar on our conversion, is there an electric water heater you recommend?

Fantastic video. What is your driving range? Is the entire bus running on solar non stop?
Wonderfull!

Wow that sounds like a cool rig! What do you mean by Max out though? Solar panels or batteries?
@@MobileDwellings
Both 😉
Taking into consideration weight and rooftop space.

This seems like a weird question but you have a battery bank right?

The battery link doesn’t seem to work for me. Is there another link?
Thanks so much for pointing that out. It should be fixed now. Try this one too if you want: tinyurl.com/4zknpa57
What did the solar system cost in total?
A system of this size generally costs close to $12K. A lot of the price is the batteries.
Where are yall at I need help with my electric. 😢 Starting my schoolie trying to find someone is a nightmare.

I am only available for electrical installs at this time. Thanks for asking!
