    This is the most comprehensive video for car repair I have ever seen! Great job!

      Thanks for the encouraging response. I wish I would've started doing live action videos 10 years ago. I only did one silly stop motion video of a 93 Mustang convertible that I stripped and cut up.

    Thanks so much for this video man, just swapped the starter on my buddy’s Uplander and this was super helpful. Knowing fastener sizes etc. in advance made packing my tool bag much easier too.

      @@seriousmustangnut is it the same for the 3.5?

    • @seriousmustangnut
      @seriousmustangnut  Год назад

      @@logansneed2882 I wish I could answer that with confidence, but sadly I cannot. There's a good chance that it's very similar at the least. If the 3.5L uses the same transmission, then it would have to be the same.

    How do u pop the wire retainer off just pull on it and push it back into place or does it just dangle after

    By any chance do you know what that black cover is called that covers the starter mine doesn’t have it

    • @seriousmustangnut
      @seriousmustangnut  10 дней назад +1

      Maybe a dust or debris shield? Just keeps garbage out of the starter and flywheel.

    • @ReptarART
      @ReptarART 10 дней назад

      @ when you tighten up the starter back up does it still feel moveable but tight I bolted it down all the way mine but moves when it cranks the flywheel

    • @seriousmustangnut
      @seriousmustangnut  10 дней назад +1

      @@ReptarART No, it should move at all. That will cause incomplete engagement which can damage the teeth.

    Why do you remove the ground and not the hot? Good vid by the way.

      Once the negative is removed from the battery, the circuit is no longer complete so you can tap any wire on the chassis and it won't cause problems. Typically, the reason I pull the negative and not positive is in case the wrench touches the body while removing, it won't damage wiring, alternator, etc. like would happen if the wrench touches while removing the positive.

      @@seriousmustangnut Yea I found out the hard way. Blew my alternator. Hoping it's a fuse.
