For the people still wondering why Esmerelda chose Phoebus over Quasimodo: Quasimodo saw Esmeralda as an angel. Phoebus saw her as a woman; he saw her as human.
You beautiful human, you. Thank you for uploading this so I don't have to watch it in a tiny box like most full length movies on YT. (I know it's for copyright purposes, but still... this was so much better.)
The voice acting here is amazing! Especially that part where Quasimodo falls and Esmeralda goes "NOOOOOO!" You can literally feel the pain in her voice
I recently saw this movie, and when that clip showed up, right out of the blue, that gave me a jump. I was like, "What was that? That wasn't supposed to happen."!
@@jennaaqtpie I got scared too as a kid with these!! My little brain couldn't understand how they could speak when the movie was over xD I was especially afraid of the end of Aristocats where Toulouse unexpectedly goes "Ohhhh yeeaaaaah!" and the end of Hercules where Hades keeps blabbering
This movie is actually dedicated to all the ppl who think of themselves as "different" or "odd" or "not normal". Let me just say tht all of us are beautiful and kind in our own little ways, like Quasimodo. :)
Disney's grandest opera of the 1990's. One that still leaves me shamelessly misty-eyed every time I watch it. Which is why it should _never ever_ get remade as live-action! It is literally unsurpassable.
...You're not wrong. Both in appearance and in personality--he combines Smith's air of command and bravery under pressure with Flynn's dry wit/banter skills.
love the movie, with all the more real characters: a "holy" man only using God as an excuse for power, an actual man of God trying his best to help the oppressed, characters with real problems, while still having comic relief
Esmerelda is from my background & I relate to her in a whole new level😫❤️ justice for us Gypsy’s are still not dealt with. We Are Human. We matter. Share this message please thank you❤️
THANK YOU!!! Im broke and cant afford anything and this helped soooo much! It also was smart how you divided the scenes so you don’t get the YᗴᒪᒪOᗯ ᗪOᒪᒪᗩᖇ.
That's the whole point. This was never meant to be a lovestory. It was about the question "Who is the monster and who is the man ?" Both, Frollo and Quasimodo wanted Esmeralda, both couldn't have her because she was in love with someone else. Frollo reacted like a monster "be mine or burn", Quasimodo like a man : all he wanted was her happiness. Plus, the difference between thr three men were : Frollo saw her as a seductive demon of hell, Quasimodo saw her as an angel and worshipped the ground she walked on. Phoebus saw her as all she really was : A woman. That's why she fell in love with him.
George Stevens I actually blame those stupid side character gargoyles for that. Like wtf he wasn't even thinking about her romantically until they sang entire fucking song about it.. anyways.. Qausi really had no reference as far as relationships or friendships rather than what he could see above the town. She really was an angle to him, but I think she understood that Qausi needed to be accepted and to accept himself before he could truly love some one well. Qausi has a lot of emotions to work through (for lots of reasons, obviously lol) . He's got to learn a lot of social skills and work through a shit ton of anxiety and timidness. I would argue that the one thing that Qausi didn't need was a relationship, but rather the emotional connection and kindness. At the end of this movie he has love and support from an entire community. I think that's a much better start than like a weird co-dependent relationship don't you think? And even better- he has an example of what a good relationship looks like. :D I fucking love this movie. This is so underrated and so misunderstood. People get upset because the main characters didn't kiss or whatever but like seriously that was the most satisfied I've been after watching a Disney movie. And I hate Disney movies.
The movie really made Phoebus into a Prince Charming/knight in shining armor kind of guy. In the book, he wasn't like that...he was good looking but he was a sleazy womanizer.
As a kid l was scared of Quasimodo and now for the first time l finally (16 years old) decided to watch the movie. It was really great, l didn't expect to like it that much, now l feel bad because so many years l just ignored it, but l guess it's never too late
Always come back watching this not to mention. There are life-lessons mixed with dark theme for Disney film especially being religious Catholic (though I don't act like one).
This ending is so very appropriate! "Getting the girl" should not be the main or standard measure of success. Being hailed as a respected society member and hero - now that's achievement!
Katsuma: (laughs, all the other monsters gather round him) Yeah, thanks for helping us today Poppet: we couldn’t have done this without you (the other monsters cheer) Luvli: (realises a wager to settle & turns to Katsuma) darling anything you want to say to poppet? Katsuma: (realises) uh yeah, poppet? Poppet: yeah? Katsuma: sorry I was soo big for my body Poppet: (kindly) I’m sure it’s not too late, look (up above baby verse monsters)
this is not the true story but disney make's it good Spoiler: the true ending of it is esmeralda will die, phoebud will be the new ambassador and quasimodo join esmeralda in afterlife
I am kind of sad that Esmeralda ended up with pheopus and not quasimodo because for once i thought this was going to be a different disney movie because the beautiful girl always ends up with the handsome man but quasimodo was different and had a disability. I watched this as a kid and now i am watching it again when i was a kid i thought that people with disabilities dont get loved. The storyline was good but not the love triangle
For the people still wondering why Esmerelda chose Phoebus over Quasimodo: Quasimodo saw Esmeralda as an angel. Phoebus saw her as a woman; he saw her as human.
I know they were both better off as friends, and that Quasimodo gave Phoebus and Esmerelda his blessing, cause now they’re all friends.
I think Quasi is more like a little brother but thats just me and yes true.
Good night, everybody! Woo-hoo-hoo!
James Bravey yeeeeaaah pierre really didn’t have his priorities set.

I think this movie has the best songs out of any Disney movie.

hes john smith 2.0
Baylee Willingham
JAAAAAAAHHHHHHNNNNNN SMMMMMMIIIIIIIITTTTTHHHHH
Baylee Willingham r
I don't see it. I think Pheobus looks a lot better. But it's all preference anyway.
Yeah, now you mention it, he's basically John Smith with a beard.

You're absolutely right, I agree 100 procent.
Me after watching all the darkest moments in this film: Oh yeah. I forgot this was a Disney film.
The theatrical version of this musical makes this movie look saccharine in comparison.
Good night, everybody! Woo-hoo-hoo!
@@strawberryfieldswhenever What's the theratrical version like?
Now this is how to end a Disney movie.
Yeah!
If you watch this before you watch the stage musical adaptation then you’re in for a treat, it’s a lot darker than this version.
Sal Amato yeah! I remember spoiling myself before reading the whole novel. And i was shocked about what actually happened

I have a feeling someone at Disney must've watched Animaniacs LOL
(In the show Yakko Warner usually said "Good night, everybody!")
John Smith + Flynn Rider = Captain Phoebus

Yes my favorite movie of all time thank you for uploading it💜
A certain cartoon character made 13 accounts just to dislike this.
Especially because he's a Warner Brothers character, and Hugo's a Disney character who decided to use his catchphrase.

Hugo just took the words right out of Yakko Warner’s mouth.
Thanks for the dedication uploading in bits. 🎉

He just took notes from Yakko from Animaniacs.
Yeah, after watching Animaniacs, I can never hear "Goodnight Everybody" (in any context) without thinking of that show.
Good night, everybody! Woo-hoo-hoo!
