This song really makes me laugh at my favorite parts but it might just be because I laugh a lot when I am tired and I was really tired when I played this song. But I remembered I said I would post a ragtime piece today so I wanted to make a video before I went to sleep.
This is such a great piece! How long did it take for you to learn it? Also, I see on your channel that you like to play Liszt pieces. Is it possible for you to one day learn his Reminiscences de Norma? I'm sure you would love it!
Leander, thank you so much for your smile, your good mood , your talent and your incredible ability! You get me happy! How long time do you need to learn this song?

Your videos always brighten my day but this one is a prize-winner. Your laughter and smiling have added a whole new dimension to this Joplin favorite, and I can't wait to see what pieces you play next. If you want to make this piece even more fun, some people stomp their foot during certain spaces in the music, to keep the beat. You can watch/listen to Cory Hall or Marvin Hamlisch playing this song to learn where. You'd probably have fun with Joplin's Stoptime Rag, too. Some people stomp during the spaces, other people stomp through the whole song.
This is a fun piece. One of the first Joplin Rags I used to play well. It was originally published as a song but that didn’t do well so Joplin arranged it as a piano solos afterwards and that didn’t a lot better. Great performance as always
Wonderful! It gives me hope that I may be able to learn to play some Scott Joplin someday. He’s been my favorite composer since I was younger than you (back when The Sting was a new movie).
Bravo! Definitely one of your best. When I was your age, I was learning to play “by number” (and ear, I hope). Played until I drove my mom nuts and she took the durn thing away. 😢 Don’t ever let anyone stop you! And if they try, roll right over them like a freight train with that awesome smile of yours.
This is really good stuff! You're wonderful! I do hope your parents fix that bottom "D" for you though. You deserve a piano in full working order. You're exceptional!
Everything is perfect, including the piano. It puts out a great big sound and has a comforting way. Don’t make suggestions to upset this wonderful balance of talent and fun.
