You continue to amaze with your talent and your enthusiasm. It’s great to hear you play so often, but be careful not to wear yourself out with so much work.
Thank you! My mother played this song for me all the time as it was one of my favorites. When they were toddlers all of my children used to gather around the piano and do their little dances. I lost my mother five years ago and you just brought her back to me in such a glorious way! Thanks for bringing me such wonderful memories 💖. I can’t wait to share this video with my 2 year old granddaughter. Keep up the great work, you have a gift for the piano and it’s fantastic to watch you play.
Great job kiddo! Don't ever stop. Stride is incredibly difficult and only a few want to try and a difficult tune as well! I expect to see you out playing for the world soon. Thanks !!!😊
Yes! His skill is extraordinary, but also his passion and enthusiasm, his presence both at the keys and on camera. This kid is the total package. Such a joy... Can't help but smile from ear to ear!
Dear Leander, I'm at a loss for words....it was great 🤩....., your hands mastered the piano keys, well done . Your family is probably very proud of you 👍 ❣️
Leander - watching at a slower speed (0.25x) I see that sometimes in your left hand you play some of the lower notes with 2 fingers (3rd and 4th, or 4th and 5th) and sometimes 3 fingers (3rd, 4th and 5th). That's an interesting technic -- probably a good idea to spare your left hand and fingers a little. For the most part your wrists are well-flexed (not rigid) and there is a good transfer of weight coming from the arms through your wrists into your fingers. Your fingers in both hands have a good strong arch and are playing mostly on the ends -- not many arched-back last knuckles (0:10 - 0:20 - RH index finger last knuckle is broken/arched backwards -- but I think it's because you're pulling off of a sharp grace note). You are re-grouping (closing) your hands so they are not playing overly-extended -- you have a very good, natural, intuitive technic. Fortunately most Baldwins such as the one you are playing have a relatively-light action which is also helpful for you. You may likely find some typical grand pianos will have a heavier action that may be somewhat more problematic for you, and require you to work up to and adapt your technic. Please do be mindful of how your fingers, hands and wrists are doing, and definitely STOP!! and take a break, or play some gentler pieces for a few days if you start having pain that doesn't go away ... !! You may have to be careful not to let us (your viewers) and your own ambition, eagerness, and just plain having fun push you too hard for too long (parents, adults -- please be understanding of the need for balance if needed). If you need to step back a bit and-re-group -- say so, and we'll all understand ! (we'll be here when you come back ...).
I am sorry but he has a great talent but all his playing is very low quality, it would not stand any preliminary round at any international piano competition for kids. If you know so much about piano playing, please rather tell the parents to get the boy a better teacher, in terms of serious learning.
@@Nunofurdambiznez This boy needs a huge amount of advice, unwanted or wanted - does not matter, as long as it is a true honest advice. At the moment, his playing is way behind what his talent deserves. A little longer like that, and he will have no chance to become a good concert pianist. Chopin and Rachmaninoff were awful for his age and degree of talent. This boy needs to have a college professor to teach him. He is in a very dangerous situation at the moment. Very primitive sound, no control of sound, no singing of the piano. It is not his fault, it is all taught.
@@MishaSkripach I agree with you about his current quality of playing. Apparently he has had no teacher at all. He is playing from sheer raw natural ability -- perhaps totally unguided (although I see evidence of other musical instruments in the room). Taking that into consideration makes room for a few allowances. However, to reach his full potential, he will need to study with a teacher who will be able to guide his ability without squelching it. Not an easy task, and not one for just any teacher. It may also be that he does not have a well-formed goal towards becoming a concert pianist at this time. Thank you, though for offering your well-intended insights. It was so good of you -- considering your highly advanced artistry and developed skills -- to take notice and offer your thoughts here - 🙂
Wow you are amazing you look young and your playing style and dynamics are really good you might be a prodigy keep going and polishing your other pieces good luck!
Camile Howard and Pete Johnson would have been pleased with this performance. Historically, boogie -woogie music came into being from this piano type. 🎹
@@michaelkline884 Of course he is, but his precision and technique will improve if he has an instrument with faster action. He is destined to become a master of the piano, and is already doing amazing things, as we can all see. I'm a pianist of 50+ years, and i know that these old beat-up spinet pianos have slow, s***y action, and don't allow the player to develop optimum hand technique, especially if the player is playing fast-tempo passages, as nearly all of Leander's pieces are. I know what I'm talking about here.
Nice performance. I wonder if this Johny Hodges has anything to do with Frederick Hodges. He’s an amazing pianist and certainly worth checking out. This piece makes me thing of the Liberace Boogie at points. That piece is simple throughout and then suddenly you’re playing at an impossible tempo that pretty much only Liberace can play at. O should really learn some Boogie piece. I like the style but only know the bass line. They’re great for improving over though. Once again, great performance. Needs a tad of ironing out but I certainly couldn’t play it so fluently as of now

@@Leander-piano AWESOME! -- but take your time -- don't rush it 🙂 They're about the same difficulty in some ways as other things you've already played.
