- Kodak Aerochrome was a false-color infrared film. If you shot it through a yellow or orange filter, you'd get the famous Aerochrome look where the foliage is red. Originally made during WWII, Aerochrome was used for aerial surveillance, mapmaking, and other uses like plant health monitoring. Aerochrome was discontinued in 2009, and nowadays, it's one of the rarest, most sought-after, and most expensive films.
So, can we recreate the Aerochrome look on the cheap? In this video, I hue-shift Lomochrome Turquoise and get some fun results!

Great stuff, the colors came out really nice. I do a lot of infrared trichromes to make my color infrared photos, but this set up for both shooting and editing actually seem to be way easier, less gear too. I will say that with the lomo films, you don't get that subtle infrared glow that you get with infrared trichomes or aerochrome, but I feel for most people this is a great way to scratch that itch of achieving the color infrared look.
I mean, it is a poor man's (non-)solution. I'd rather have some actual infrared sensitivity 😅 but for the look alone I'm pretty happy! Now I'm wondering what's Lomo Purple like...
Cool! Aerochrome is something i wanna try out
I can't justify the cost yet... 😶
What the heck man I just tried this on a roll of turquoise I shot a while ago. It works so good!
Hahaha ikr! Please share some of the results!
I go even cheaper than this, I use photoshop to emulate Lomo Turquoise on my digital images 😆
And I sometimes use RNI Aero on my phone 😂 but this way at least one part of the process is analog. I wonder what's Lomo Purple gonna look like (I still have the other two films from the pack 😁)
