    To add, I’d suggest riding in a group. I was doing solo riding my first year and now that I’ve found some new riding mates it’s a breath of fresh air to draft, socialize and geek out on everything bike related.

    If you feel discomfort, numbness or pain on longer rides, get a professional bike fit - it is pricey but it is worth it.

    As a newb that likes to ride several hours at a time, i find a snack to help get back is a good idea.

    About the gear on bikes . I bought a new bike . Trek emonda alr5 . Expensive enough lol. But it has reliable Shimano 105. Group set.
    Just think Ultegra crank arms breaking.goes to show the best isn't allways good .

      Here's a thought 🤔. I'm carrying a few extra pounds muscle . No many posts on how to lose muscle lol. Losing fat is not bad if your active and easy on beer over 50 lol🍺
