    For this show, this is the episode where Atoy Co made that controversial remark about Sonny Jaworski being an “ordinary player”. The Fortune Cookie also talks about the time he and a Crispa teammate once thought about joining Toyota, his Crispa glory days, and his friendship with Philip Cezar.

    Repost ko lang. Regarding Jawo: “He was named Most Valuable Player in 1978. Jaworski's MVP performance may arguably be considered as his best single season, averaging 20 points, 12 assists and close to nine rebounds per game. This was done despite the presence of hulking imports with no height limit - imports he played alongside and against with.” Si Jawo 6x first mythical team and 2x second mythical team. Nung 1985 nagging member din si Jawo ng all defensive team, kasama nya dun si Abe. Si Atoy, naging all defensive team member ba? Lol.

      I disagree sir. Here is my point, people tend to forget that when PBA started in 1975, Big J was already 29 years old. Hindi nakita ng PBA yung 4-5 years of prime ni Jawo sa MICAA. Triple double ang average niya noon. Yung MVP season nya sa PBA almost triple double po yung average nya with 20+ ppg. He had average shooting but exceptional passing skills. I agree naman sa basketball IQ but to say na average basketball skills medyo under statement yun. Sa NBA only Oscar Robertson was able to do that before, then comes the Lebron James and the Russell Westbrooks, all have execeptional offensive skills.

    Madaling ma misunderstood si Atoy Co dahil mas articulate siya sa other players at mabiro siya. But his remarks should probably be appreciated with a grain of salt and spirit of fun associated with reminiscing the good old days. He is really very passionate about the game. At mas matindi talaga ang kantyawan noong panahon ng Toyota die-hards at Cripanatics.

    Have been a Crispa Redmanizer fun in my teenage years. Enjoyed watching their games. Admired JUN PAPA’s 3 pointers shots. Was also a fun of DAnny Florencio, his agility, so with Abarrientos, ADORNADO was a favorite too. Of course Atoy Co. Fav coach was also Mr Baby Dalupan, loved how he picked players during matches. Another fav from Mariwasa, the very tall Jimmy Mariano. Won’t forget these “ fantastic “ players.

All around sya assist, rebound etc. Si Jawo buhay ang team dahil na never say die nya and for me walang katapat ang nag iisang BIG "J" THE GREATEST PINOY PLAYER.

    Robert Jaworski , for all basket ball enthusiast, past and present is a living legend. Philippines has the best basket ball team in Asia way back in the 50’s during the time of Carlos Loyzaga who is also a legend who pioneered this game, competed internationally with the Philippine team and made this sport very popular through out the country and Robert Jaworski is considered his successor, no other name is bigger than Robert Jaworski from the time he entered this sport and up to the present.

    • @jhunbriones6965
      @jhunbriones6965 2 года назад +2

      Robert Jaworski is a living legend best known as the bulldozer … he is well known for playing the roughest games in MICAA and PBA caught on live tv kicking the referees together with Ramon Fernandez several times when the Toyota team thought the referees made a bad call. Does that justify kicking those tiny referees compared to how tall and huge Robert Jaworski’s body was? So yes he is is a living legend and one assigned to intimidate the opposing team whoever that team may be. In short Robert Jaworski is the tirador of TOYOTA from MICAA upto his PBA days. He is only famous for his clutch shots and oppossing players trying to block Jaworski’s lay-up often ends up being hurt purposely by Robert Jaworski. THAT IS THE LIVING LEGEND ROBERT JAWORSKI MOST FAMOUS FOR. Writing to you from the beautiful city of Sydney Australia.

    Yung tanong ni Noel ay nung 1975 ang kamuntik na naggrand slam ang Toyota sana. Pero sa 3rd conference na dun na-0-2 ang Crispa pero sila ang nagchampion. Si Cyrus Mann ang import ng Crispa. That season naging import ng Toyota si Byron "Snake" Jones. Si William "Bogs" Adornado ang unang PBA MVP na naglaro pa noon sa Crispa bago sya nagka knee injury that almost ended his basketball career. Si Gil Cortez ng Toyota ang unang PBA Rookie of the Year. Si Joy Dionisio ang unang naka shoot o nakapuntos na isang lay-up sa inaugural game.

    Mr. Co, to say that Sonny Jaworski js just an ordinary player and simply respected, Im sorry, I beg to disagree. Maybe what you meant is how were you remembered by the basketball fans in general. You mentioned the looping shot of Francis Arnaiz, elegant shot of Mon Fernandez, and your signature fade away shot, teardrop shot of Mac Cardona can be added to the list, but if a player who never had a signature move doesnt make him less than those who does. Same goes in the NBA , when you see Abduljabar you think of hook shot, but how about Lebron, Jordan, Kobe, Curry? Any signature move? The reason is just like Jaworski, these great players simply do everything in court. Name it they score, they rebound, they steal, and they assist. Johnny Abarientos was once known as asia s best point guard, any signature move? One can always debate about Jaworski s greatness especially you but try to realize, he received is mvp award at age 38, perhaps the oldest to have that feat. It was almost the downside of his career when everybody doubted if he still has it. But after receiving the mvp he made everyone a believer. Im glad you mentioned about his karate chop, you only made me realized that you had a dose of his medicine. To close this comment, I will say , Legends never die...they just fade away!

    walang trademark ang isang all around player kasi mahalaga sa kanya masiyahan ang mga manonood , marami pang magagaling na kasabayan mo na walang trade mark katulad ni Cleofas o delos santos , mariano , jun papa , ang magagaling na manlalaro sa larangan ng basket ball ay hindi sino sinisiraan ang kasama sa pag lalaro , ang tawag doon ay disiplina o pag galang sa kasamahan ...' bayaan mo na lang kami ang mag sabi na magaling ka , kaming fans ...

    Jaworski is NOT an average player. His longevity tells it all. His three point shots, barelling drive, no look,crisp, behind the back passes, his no none sense play and leadership has brought him to where he is now. To the hearts of every basketball fan.
