Apparently the actors were encouraged to drink while on set to give the whole relaxed beach vibe 😂 that's why you can tell how much fun they're all having
I just think they say that cause the directors couldn’t stop em lol
I think that they’ve said that during their staying here they got a lot of alcohol😂
Here and summer means mezé and tsípuro
🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 ☀️☀️☀️
Wish we all had a positive work environment like that. 😭
@@whitenoisereacts That’s fair XD
Also explains some of the singing lmao
Meryl Streep ripping Pierce Brosnan's shirt open wasn't scripted. She just felt like doing it.
That's such a Meryl thing to do 😂😂
I think anybody would feel like doing that if they were kissing Pierce Brosnan...
“If they don’t find out I’d be so pissed”
*sweats nervously”
I get the frustration with not getting an answer to who the father is, but at the same time, we just got to know and love the three characters and it would've been a pretty sad ending to see two heartbroken men finding out they aren't the father.
I freakin LOVE ABBA so this movie has a special place in my heart. Half of these actors are Oscar winning or broadway stars so the fact that they are just having the best time in Greece singing some catchy tunes is just so much fun to me!
I actually LOVED that because they all loved her and felt like her father and she loved them like a daughter, so it didn't matter. . I completely agree with the rest
I saw a comment once and I think it’s right - Donna wanted it to be Sam, Bill is likely her real father, and Harry would’ve made the best one.
Apparently in the stage version of the musical it is revealed that Bill is the biological father.
I mean, the point of it is, it doesn't matter. If the characters don't feel they need to know then I don't feel I need to know. Family is more than blood and they decided they were family :)
You're absolutely right: this movie is not some great cinematic masterpiece, but that's not the point. The point is seeing a bunch of celebrities singing Abba songs and having fun in Greece!
As for who the dad is: my personal bet would be on Bill, purely based on vibes. But! If I had to choose one of them to be my dad, it'd be Harry.
I think it takes you on a fun ride, anybody would love to be transported there lol
Mrs Weasley sure is different when she's in Greece. This movie is such a laugh
That's what happens when you go on holiday without the kids 😂
@@shi4084 KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
AHAHAHAHA IKR I THOUGHT THE SAME😂😂
@@danielgreen1557 huh? Rosie is English and played by Julie Walters who is Mrs Weasley
I love Julie Walters in this movie! And I’m always just a little disappointed when people don’t recognize that she’s also Mrs. Weasley!
Yes yes yes! This movie brought ABBA to a whole new generation, and as a Swede who grew up with the music it makes me so happy! Watching this in theaters with my mother is a memory I will always cherish! Iconic and campy!
Håller med dig fullständigt

Yes! This movie made me an ABBA fan! I was never big into 70s music so I didn't give them much of a chance. I knew about Dancing Queen but felt kinda meh about it (turns out it's just not my favorite song by them, I love their other tunes a lot more)
My family watched Mamma Mia for the first time a few months ago (loved it of course), but my kids and I have loved ABBA long before that. Their music is so timeless.
It's never confirmed in the movies but most people believe Bill is the father as he looks the most like Sophie, his aunt took care of Donna and gave her the hotel, and Sophie is named after his aunt
All these years of being a Harry Potter fan and seeing this movie in theaters (plus rewatches) and I never realized that lol.
Another thing are the genes.
Brown eyes come from a dominat gene and blue eyes from a recessive, which makes Bill the most likely father.
But like people say, the whole point is that is doesnt matter
Yeah I always reckoned it was Bill.
He looks nothing like her to me. To me she looks like sam. Just blonde like her mom.
It’s confirmed in the deleted scene where Sophie sings “The Name of the Game”
For me this is the best definition of a relaxing movie. It exists only to make you happy and have fun. It doesn't need a great complicated plot or complex characters, it doesn't try to be a masterpiece, neither is afraid of being something embarrassing and corny. It's completely made to satisfy our """guilty""" pleasures and make us feel good. And i think this is amazing ❤️
It's just SO FEEL GOOD!!
Yeah this is one of my favorite "background movies". It's great to put on while you're cleaning or working
Also, some of that choreography is pretty great, to be honest - I love the Voulez Vous scene so much!
This whole movie just screams "trios". The White Noise Reacts trio, the main character's trio, the mum's trio, the dad-trio :D
OMG YES kkkkkk
YES!
The thing with Sophie and Sky is it's not a perfect relationship but they do love each other. And it might seem like a small thing to get upset over but in a relationship you should be able to tell your partner things that matter to you and Sophie didn't do that. Sky didn't want a big wedding and felt like Sophie finding her dad was the only reason she wanted one.
I would be livid if I was Sky, honestly. Like, I don't want this shit, you know I don't want this shit, I'm doing all this shit to make your picture perfect and then you're lying about a giant part of it? Not on.
idk if you noticed and just didn't put it in the reaction but Skye (the fiancé) is the same actor who plays Howard Stark in the first Captain America and Donnas friend Rosie is Molly Weasley!
THATS WHERE I KNEW SKYE FROM
I don't get why you have issues with Sky LOL. He's not perfect of course, but he was right in this situation imo. Sophie insisted on having a big wedding which looked like a plot to find her real father, not a way to celebrate the marriage. It was especially frustrating for Sky because Sophie thought she isn't "complete" not knowing who her father is, which is total BS. I understand that growing up without parent/parents leaves a toll on a person and you feel like you would know yourself better if you know your parents BUT it's not only your parental DNA that shapes you growing up. You are YOU. An unique individual. Sky loved Sophie for who SHE was and he tried to make her see that.
I am always so surprised when young people don’t know ABBA. They are the second most selling group in history only bested by the Beatles! Being swedish like them I cannot understate how big they were, at one point they contributed more to swedish export than Volvo did!
Well I know the Beatles instead…lol
10:34, to answer your question: yes! With friends, with strangers we meet -- everyone becomes besties in the bathroom
I grew up watching this as a kid and didn't think Sophie and Sky were that young, but now that I'm older, I'm realizing how young 20 really is to be getting married! Which I feel like explains a lot about their relationship, since the both of them are still growing into that emotional maturity lol
This was also originally a stage musical too. The sequel is a better narrative of how Donna met each of them and ended up on the island. Still no answer though unless you do the math
But the sequel is not at all as remarkable as the first
This should be fun lol. My grandma listened to ABBA so much when I was a kid that I ended up liking them too. Then we saw this movie in theaters when it came out.
Fun fact, one of the original ABBA members had a cameo. The guy playing piano during Dancing Queen is a band member.
One of Bs in ABBA :D
Mamma mia: here we go again is an even crazier film so I really recommend just to follow up on this film to react to and to have commentary on it
The only thing I was surprised about was the younger versions of the guys did not look as extreme as he memory's of them.that being said all great
YOU DIDN'T WATCH THE CREDIT SCENE!!! It's so funny, and you can't miss it!!! It's one of the best parts of the movie
was looking for this comment! definitely a treat, the guys in those suits lol :P and you just can't go wrong with Waterloo!
When I was little, my aunt introduced this to me and my cousins. She had us watch it every weekend for weeks until we had memorized most of the words. Then, she surprised us all with tickets to the live show. This movie always makes me feel nostalgic and warm inside 😊
So cool!
almost everyone in this was drunk while filming which i fucking love
I love so many moments from this movie, but Donna's face automatically switching when she realized something was wrong with Sophie and her main goal was to make sure she was alright🥺
I grew up listening to ABBA with my dad, so this movie has a special place in my heart! Also I always find it so weird seeing Mrs. Weasley in this. It's the only thing I've ever seen her in besides HP.
Julie Walters is also in the movie Billy Elliot. If you're interested in seeing other movies with her in it...
I think the commonly accepted theory is that Bill is the bio dad (it's hinted at very strongly in the stage show).
As a European who grew up with Abba due to my parents, this movie makes me so god damn nostalgic and watching it always brings back so many childhood memories
The fact that most of this film was done in front of a green screen and not in Greece is mindblowing
Guys, there ABSOLUTELY is EVERY kind of drama just before the wedding takes place, and both the bride and the groom are pretty often filled with worry and doubts. It's called getting cold feet. Happens to every couple.
i grew up watching this movie and loving it. it's not meant to be taken very seriously, it's definitely a feel-good movie where you can notice how the cast was having a blast. also, as a potterhead, i am ashamed to admit that it took me AGES to recognize julie walters (who plays aunt rosie in this) who is molly weasley in the harry potter films. dominic cooper, who plays sky in this, also portrayed young howard stark in the mcu.
I never realized that either!
I honestly think this movie is perfect for what it is! It's a really self-aware musical where the focus is ultimately on the mother/daughter-relationship, something I love to see (which is also why I think it's perfect that we don't get to know who the father is). It's my go-to feel-good movie!
The sequel is amazing because you can apreciate Donna's story when se met all three of them. And You see what happens years later from This movie :) if You react to the 2nd i'd be awesome
I'm from Denmark (Scandinavia) and I have loved ABBA (from my neighbor country: Sweden) since the 70's. I hade posters up with them and vinyls with them. I discovered them in the: Eurovision 1974. I just heard they have make some new songs. ABBA was the reason I saw this... and great actors.
I love just the crickets when the movie ended....classic response of 'what did we just watch'
It may not be a masterpiece, but damn it's a fun, feel-good movie.
It’s a fun musical, it’s not supposed to make sense, ya just roll with it. 😂
You guys gotta do the sequel now!! These movies are my guilty pleasure lol
Oh guys, I feel like you went into this taking it way too seriously. Whereas Les Mis is my all-time favourite musical, Mamma Mia is about as different from that one as it gets: silly, fun and just a good time.
Btw I hope you saw the credits stuff! When this movie was in theatres here in Norway, the lights in the movie theatre weren’t turned on until after these scenes, just to let the audience know there was more :D And seeing Pierce, Stellan and Colin in those outfits was definitely worth the wait.
Naw…I mean we went into it, knowing it was gonna be that…but stil lol
@@whitenoisereacts 🙊
Yes that's literally what happens in girls bathrooms lol
It's such a fun, feel good movie. I remember watching it with my mom and we along with the theater were singing along and dancing in our seats haha and yes, girls do pep talk each other and compliment each other in the bathroom 😂 I believe it's Bill Anderson because of all the connections like Sophia being the name of his grandmother, and Donna getting the hotel from her as well. Always a pleasure to see you all reacting and laughing together! 😊
literally watched this for the first time the other week with my girlfriend who loves abba, just in time for this reaction 😊
So like when Mamma mia released here in India, it became such a huge hit, that the film was in cinema for 3 months and packed every show. My parents even got the movie music CD and played that thing on repeat. They were already ABBA fans, and I became even bigger one.
This is based off of a musical by the same name and it includes only ABBA music. Two of the members (the guys who wrote all their songs) were very involved in the making of the movie, particularly the music side of things. Both of them made cameos in the movie: Benny Andersson, who is playing piano during Dancing Queen and Björn Ulvaeus, who is dressed as a Greek god during the closing credits (Waterloo). Rita Wilson also made a cameo dressed as a Greek goddess during the closing credits. She, along with her husband Tom Hanks (who you might know), is an executive producer of the movie.
If you haven't watched it I recommed the second movie. It's a mix of present day and flashbacks from when Donna met all of them. It never reveals who the father is but according to screenwriter Catherine Johnson and director Phyllida Lloyd, the father is Bill (Stellan Skarsgård). Which makes sense cuz not only does she look the most like him, she was named after his aunt Sofia who lived on the island (she even appears in the second movie). Kinda cool because Bill is supposed to be Swedish like the actor and ABBA.
I personally like how they never knew who the biological father was though. It seems strange because that's literally what the movie was about but in the end it didn't matter.
And I gotta ask, what was your problem with Sky? He was being perfectly reasonable. Sophie lied to him about something very important and he felt like the wedding was more about her finding her dad then about them, which it kinda was. They loved each other but neither of them really wanted to get married at that point.
I get it's not your type of movie but it's one of my favourites because I grew up with ABBA music and it just always puts me in a good mood.
The best thing to known is that the whole cast is drunk while filming this
Tbh, I belong to the minority who thinks the sequel is waaaaaay better.
It feels deeper and more realistic.
The second movie is definitely better. The story line is so wholesome and heartwarming yet so real at the same time.
The fact that I've been an individual fan of your channels for months and am only finding this now makes me so sad 😭😭❤️❤️
Somebody on TikTok did the math and noticed some subtle things and according to their theory, Sam is the dad. But the musical’s director once said bill is the most likely suspect.
She looks like sam, just blonde like her mom. She's an artist like him too. That and the math suggests Sam is the dad. I believe it.
This was fun the second time just to see the confusion and the laughter. It's not anything ground breaking but some of the songs are cool and it really makes me want to go to Greece. Such a gorgeous location :)
This is my comfort movie man
OMG I LITERALLY PREDICTED THIS WOULD COME AFTER LES MIS AND I DIDNT LOOK AT PATREON
OH MY GOD YES… this is my favourite movie and the vid came out just in time for my break at work!
Love this movie because of the joy and the music 💞 was fun watching y’all guess things 👏🏻
I know that technically this movie isn't good but I always leave this movie in a good mood. It also is nostalgic for me since I was obsessed with it in middle school.
FINALLLYYYYYY Oh my goodness I CANNOT believe you guys watched this.
I grew with this movie. When I was... like 4 or 5, my dad would go to work and my mum would stay home with me and my little sister and we would always ask her to put on "Mamma Mia". I have so many happy memories with this movie and all of these songs. As I got older, the storyline began to make more sense to me and my sister and we enjoyed the movie even more.
Edit: Also while watching this, I actually got flashbacks and me and my sister singing "I do I do I do I do I do" for way longer than it was supposed to bel
If I grow up to be as badass as Tanya then I'll consider that my lifes achievement.
Hello you three 💜💜💜
Another amazing, funny, great and truly enjoyable reaction - as always. I'm never getting tired of saying that.
It's not friday yet but I want to wish you a great relaxing weekend anyway! Bless you guys for being such wonderful human beings 🙏🏼💕
Thanks!!
10:34 Yes, actually, this is one of the most realistic portrayals of what goes on in the girl's bathroom when a group of friends go in together 😂
What is this movie? A loosely stitched together plot meant to be a vehicle for ABBA songs and a whole lot of fun
Yup. Feelgood sing a long musical. Story? Who cares 🤷🏼♀️
I hope you watched the credits because there's more singing lol. And there's a sequel to this which I think it's better than this one. You guys should watch that one aswell.
best part is that they were drunk A LOT whilst making this 😂😂😂
I BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS ONE
There IS a real life Mamma Mia story -- Sean Astin aka Samwise Gamgee!
I love part 2 especially because it gets into the relationships of Donna and the guys
Mama Mia isn't my favorite musical, but I can sit through it and enjoy myself. My aunt loves Abba, so she knows all the songs in this show. I've watch this movie a couple times with her and even brought her to see a live performance. It's fun if you don't think too hard about it.
Also they were basically drunk the whole time, cause the caterer were greece, so constant ouzo and the heat not helping and shooting at night XD
I am so glad you watched it, it's such a comfort movie, about family, music, fun and dreams, it's so special
This was essentially my reaction when I saw it for the first time (the stage show, actually, before they made it into a movie). It was a fun enough show with all the songs and dancing, but we got to the end and didn't find out who the dad was, and the moral of the story was essentially "marriage ruins everything, let's not get married so we can be happy" (that was much more pronounced in the show- they toned it down for the movie, I think)... everyone around us jumped to their feet in applause and my mom and I were just sitting there looking at each other and kind of halfheartedly clapping.
Did you recognize the actress who played Rosie…she played Mrs. Weasley.
No we didn’t
the people of the island laughing and singing in the back are quite literally the greek chorus, quite genius if you ask me
this movie is so chaotic but i love it anyway. how can one not?
Hoping y’all will do the second one, it’s so good😍
Ur reactions are always my favourite this is my best comfort channel
i love the combination of you three! 🧡
I love these movies but the theater version still has a place in my heart
this movie is literally my favourite comfort movie
It's based on the stage Musical, and they hired the men knowing no one of them could sing, the sequel is actually amazing and most can actually sing in that one ;P
Wrong they lied and said they could sing
i love you guys for make this reaction is one of my favorite musical movie
I love the diversity of your reaction videos!
watching all my favs recently i’m loving it :)
Dominic Cooper, who plays the boyfriend, is Howard Stark in the MCU TV series - What If? and Agent Carter.
The sequel movie has flashbacks to all of the three guys as young men, all played by young actors,
I needed this one today😂
Love this movie 😊❤
I grew up with ABBA 😊❤
Another great musical with 70s music is "HAIR" 😊
literally my favourite movie in the world because no matter which mood your in, it just is a perfect watch.
Did they noted that the smaller Donna's friend is Molly Weasley?
If they did, they didn't keep it in the edited reaction but it might be on the full reaction on Patreon
i feel like this is one of those things where its stupid and silly to watch on screen but its an epic experience to see on stage
Can't wait for yall to see part 2😝
omg i love when u all get together but its also uncanny or somethin 😻💖
Please watch both of the Big fat Greek weddings
This is my childhood movie almost so... now I understand why my friends tell me that I sound high all the time, this is the answer
make sure you watch the sequel as well i hope DUH THE WHOLE MUSICAL IS ABBA MUSIC and abba is awesome thats all i have to say also the sequel is all abba music as well
I am so happy that all my fav. reaction fav. people know each other.
Loved this film it will always be my fave
When I saw the musical at a local production they announced at the beginning that the audience could be as rowdy as we wanted while dancing and singing along. I couldn't whistle and shout as much as I wanted because I ended up sitting next to my bishop.
This movie shaped my childhood, I love this movie more than anything
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I mean...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the reaction!!!!
Another classic with a complete ABBA soundtrack- Muriel's Wedding!!!!!!!!!
"That was... something." Lol
You guys should totally watch Mamma Mia 2! I’d love to see that reaction!
I personally love the second movie more (because of the flashback scenes) you gotta watch it
/sings/ my my, how can I resist ya 🤭
You should react to "RENT" and "Across the universe" (The beatles songs)
across the universe is so good! i've never met anyone who knows it...
