as a wedding dj, I can assure you that he probably thought you were some shit dj and that your set was gonna be ass. people don’t realize how much a shit Dj can ruin a dance floor and a whole night, so he was probably just worried you’d tank the vibe of the wedding
i’m also assuming that it’s his equipment, which I would never let any stranger use my stuff, especially at a wedding with a bunch of drunk people. regardless of whether or not they were a dj
The story makes me think that the DJ was actually really terrible, Cody stepped in as an unplanned favor, and then felt so bad about it that they created this backstory and sent the original DJ the link. “No no! You did really good! It meant nothing!”
