I discovered loc brushing year 3 and haven't look backed since. I hate wearing bonnets because I get headaches from them so silk pillow cases and loc brushing work for me. I also like the look it gives me....I dont know of it's my imagination but for me it makes my locs look fuller.

I’ll look into this further as brushing locs has never really crossed my mind - I thought it would just add to my fuzz/frizz.
The lint thing is so necessary for my daughters sisterlocks - absolute nightmare!!!

You are welcome ! I think a good article to start with is the one on Dr. Locs website =) I too could see it potentially causing frizz if it is done too much or too roughly.

How often do you recommend brushing locs? Should the hair be wet or dry?

I don’t feel qualified to answer that question for everyone since everyone’s hair is different, and I’m not a loctician or cosmetologist. I will say I have thick 4c hair and I brush mine about once a month. That’s what’s been working for me.

I still have baby locs so what would you suggest for them? I do use a toothbrush for edges without edge control

Hi Tiffany. Dr. Locs suggested not brushing baby locs, and since she's a loctician, I would definitely back that recommendation.
