The battle between a girl's good and evil sides. Here, the evil side is boasting of her power, saying that the good side doesn't deserve the throne (control), and that no rules apply to her. The "korusu" chant is "Kill" in Japanese.
One of my very favorites from QOTMS. Dany is fully possessed by this point in the performance (that sneer!) and the character in the story has totally given herself over to the evil side. And Pau encouraging her to kill (korosu) ramps up the emotion. Meanwhile, Ale's bassline really grounds this song and leads it forward. I was thrilled to hear it in person during the Mayday tour.
@@fernandorobles6065 There's two voices. Pau is singing the low part in the first half of that chorus before Ale joins in to harmonize in a falsetto. There are several decent videos of the Mayday tour where you get a shot of the full band so you can see it and hear it.
@@fernandorobles6065 What the Prof said. Like I said, my jaw dropped!! Ale uses her falsetto in several songs. Pau has mentioned that Ale's falsetto is beautiful. Can't wait for her to use her voice more. Such an asset to the band. They ALL are.
20 years damn bro long time yeah they’re amazing and I can’t wait for them to come to Canada November 5 I think they’re in Saskatoon in the stadium that they’re gonna be playing in is literally five blocks away from me!!!
It's great to hear them discussing this album. Pau said she had about 5 songs to work up into this tale of obsession, madness and murder. She brought the story to her sisters to sell them on the idea. Ale said something like "there wasn't much of a story, it was just blood and murder." Pau said what do you expect I was in middle school going through an emo phase. Lol.😅 Holy shit middle school! That's when you realize what extraordinary talent they have, all three of them. (They have a series of a couple vlogs in which they talk about every song and its amazing the detail and thought they put into each song.)
This is the title track from the Queen of the Murder Scene album. It's a concept album that begins with Dust to Dust, a prologue at the funeral of the Queen. The album goes from infatuation to obsession to murder on to fully embracing her dark side to eventual suicide. The final song is the last thoughts of the Queen as she dies and ties back into the prologue. Pau sings both the beginning (Dust to Dust) and the last song (The End) while playing drums. This Lunario concert was the first presentation of the entire album just a little before Ale turned 14. There are a few places where they were struggling just a little bit during some of the more energetic portions because this is in Mexico City (CDMX) and sits at around 7300 ft (2225 meters) above sea level. They have played in Mexico City several times since then and know what to expect now.
That show should go down in the RocknRoll HOF for best performance all time, wish we would of got 10 more albums like the Queen of murder scene , call it greedy but i didnt want that era to end, on with the new tho, thanks for doing an older song from the warning
Got to see Queensryche perform the full Operation: Mindcrime album live twice back in the day. I'd go see The Warning live under any circumstance, really, but if they played all of QotMS?! YES, PLEASE!!
@@greenfalcon11 yea rush was doing the moving pictures album tour in new orleans, best sounding concert i ever been to, iron maiden late 80's in nola too was one bad to the bone concert for me, two killer bands for sure live
Saw them live at The Canal Club in Richmond two weeks ago. Dany was playing Lzzy’s guitar for this song. I was 3 meters away from her. Awesome song live!!!
QOTMS, one of The Warning's hard rock songs, almost metal, Dany's solo is exquisite, firm and only what the song asks for without unnecessary extra luxuries and Dany lives the songs played by a phenomenon and Ale based on bass wow
The Lunario concert where they debuted the whole QOTMS album was like the gold standard for their performances for quite a few years. They were all dressed to the nines, and had the big graphics screen that Pau did the triggers for, (in addition to drumming, singing, and keeping track of Ableton on her laptop)😮 Dany REALLY had the attitude turned up for all these songs, and you can watch the whole series and not find a bad one in the bunch! They were already making good use of the backing tracks, with the sound effects, etc. And Dany's 'Gilmouresque' solos were perfect for the situation. (She does another one in 'The End' with Pau singing lead)😉 🤘😎🤘
This album and the professionally videoed version of this concert might go onto becoming The Warning's Holy Grail since it was their last indie album. Still that's not the main reason for this to happen. It's the combination that this album is pure genius. A full on conceptual album that tells a story. Maybe someday there will be an actual stage play made from this album. This title cut performance is so special as we get to see the visual example of how Dany becomes the character of the songs she performs. She doesn't just sing them. She becomes them. Her performances are so authentic.
To date, my favorite TW song. I even have the handwritten lyrics by Dany as a Patreon reward. Everything is perfect about this song, the grit, the power, the drum fills, the crunchy bass, the breakdowns with the korosu, korosu… and of course, the magnificent guitar solo!
They need to do more concept albums. I think QOTMS is a modern classic. It’s a better concept album, IMO, than some efforts by long established bands. No matter how much better they get as a band this album will always be one of my favorites of theirs.
Great reaction! You two are always fun to watch! I love this song. For some reason many reactors seem to gloss over Dany's solo in this song but it's soooo good! Brilliant!! To make the bass playing even more impressive, she was 13 years old during this performance 😳.
