I live in Louisville (close to downtown) and I know how terrible our roads and drivers can be! Glad you were able to pass thru the city! Kentucky is a hidden gem tbh
A hidden gem that people from CA have found.
I travel for work. I drive all over North America. I used to think Louisville drivers were bad too.
It's sad that they aren't even close to the bottom of the list.
@@SMaamri78Sadly. Californians need to stay in California.
@@travr6 I'm about to start CDL school, quite worried about bad driving and tight roads.
Where would you say is the worst? I've heard up north in NY and NJ is pretty bad.
@MagicCookieGaming If you are driving over the road it doesn't really matter because you will go everywhere.
Texas by far has the worst drivers in America. Too many Mexicans in Texas who still drive like they are in Mexico. Especially the further you go down south.
In big cities, it's the people on their cell phones and road rage.
In the country the roads are smaller but people are used to big vehicles with all the tractor and combines. They give you space.
Happy to hear you pronouncing Louisville correctly! One of my sons lives near Mall St. Matthews. Dad used to deliver cream or milk somewhere downtown, back in the 50s when it was hauled in 10 gallon cans. He had to load and unload by himself...He drove a 6 cyl. GMC tractor with a 35 foot trailer.
Safe travels, Dave. Thank you for trucking.
Hey Dave, Louisville is where I’ve been all my life. It was super cool seeing you drive down all these streets I know so well. I agree with you, those streets are very tight. I feel like they should be 25 on some of them too. Can’t wait to se you come back to Louisville!
Thanks Dave for your service we all love you
This is my city! Welcome! We've got a lot of tight spaces downtown, even cars have a lot of trouble let alone a truck. The homeless population is by far something you gotta watch out for as they'll hitch a ride anywhere they can. You managed the downtown area well, the cars (from personal experience) are very impatient when it comes to semis so well done haha. I 65 south is confusing when you have to get off on Chestnut and shit. Navigating downtown is even worse.
Good video! Been watching you for so long and been waiting to see the day you come here. Keep it up man!
Started watching your trucking content and really like your content keep up the great work and cant wait for the next video
What's up Dave, good to see you back on the saddle, be safe and God bless you!🙏👍
Glad you made it out of there ok Dave. I had fun. Stay safe.
thanks for another ride along Dave
Keep up the good work Dave
Sitting here shaking my head, don’t know how you guys can do that job, I’m quite sure truckers don’t get the amount of respect you deserve.😊
Cool to see you perusing around my hometown!
Boy, those lights are sure testing your patience. Your having a great day. Keep talking positive 👍👍👍
Another good video, thanks. I have no criticism of the way you backed in, but I've found it's easier for me in a situation like that if I turn left just at the end of my set up so I start off with a little angle in it
Love your energy!
Just found your channel bc of this video & you made a subscriber out of me. Born & raised in Louisville but have lived in Upstate NY for 5 years & then Birmingham, AL for 2 & Tampa, FL for 1 but always came back. Such a great area honestly. Not too big but not too small. Crazy story though at 11:11(crazy coincidence right?) in your video my dad saw a guy who was waiting for a bus, just like the one that’s sitting there step off the curb to look the opposite way and who was immediately decapitated by a larger trucks mirrors. He used to talk about it every time we’d pass that spot when I was younger. So it’s just super weird you’d be driving a semi right past the spot and there’s a bus sitting right at that same stop. I’ve always wondered who that guy was & how his family must have felt bc that’s just a crazy accident. But yeah sorry for the slightly gruesome story I just had to share bc there’s a bus sitting at the stop & your in a big semi. Hopefully you can come back to Louisville and spend a couple of days as I highly recommend it!
Notification gang 😎 Be safe Dave!
You are such a Hoot to watch. Your constant commentary is hilarious and I get the feeling you'd be talking like that even if you weren't videoing it !
I think that commentary is why he’s so popular on here! It’s what attracted me to staying with the channel.
Dave welcome to Louisville is all I gotta say stay safe while your here and lock your truck up real good. Louisville has a real bad drug problem
I'm starting orientation tomorrow for us transloco. I've been local for the past 2 years but decided to go otr. I'm nervous but excited at the same time. Hope to see you out there some day. I've been watching you since you had the motorcycle channel. Be careful out there buddy.
Have you started otr yet? I been debating on going from local to otr the past few months also.
🎉🎉🎉 great job Dave😮😮😮 have some patience with the😊
Hey Dave, I laughed so hard when you said were lost so you called the company and said HEY!!, well not quit like that I am a professional truck drive and at the end you said well wham Bam thank ya Mame! and I am sure ya all did... LOL anyhow my friend keep up the great videos.
Keep being the amazing person you are dave I be so excited when you upload a video every time I be listening to this song and it's one of my favorites song and I just thought of you when I was listening to it listen to chris janson the name of the song called good vibs and you always give us good vibes so when you get a chance listen to it and I know you'll love the song to I listen to it everyday on road i love it.
I was across the river in Jefferson,IN could see Louisville city, I was at Mister "P" getting my cdl, just pass my tested today :)
Glad you didn’t have to deal with the can opener bridge down near the college few tight areas for trucks
Good tracking dave
Great video……the first thing I noticed was the gates that close and lock. Meaning no parking…
lol we run freight out of there all the time. it sucks getting down there man. swing extra wide and make sure tot take up that extra space to make the turns down there
Stay safe truck drivies dave
When the trees are cut out, a good indicator it is a truck route.
I'm curious Dave I don't know if you've mentioned it recently but where is turn cam. We miss the turn cam when you're backing. Thanks for the video Dave!
7:31 - Hospital curve. This is where everyone slows down, because if you go to fast, you'll get in a wreak! Tight curve here.
Put you on stage give you a guitar. And play this by the end you will get a standing ovation. 4:38. The way you sang this was everything. I need in my life I’m actually crying tears of happiness
Thank you for pronouncing my city right! Loo-a-vull!
You have to drive here in Joburg in South Africa😂You would enjoy every single moment of it
I know all of Louisville. I drove a cab for 16 years. I just live across the bridge in Indiana
Comment and question, I like how you keep it real dude. Good driving, you nailed that spot.
People from the area pronounce it somewhat funny, like Lou-a-val. I can't spell it. I think if you went about 6 or 7 blocks north to around 9'th at and Main st. is the Louisville Slugger plant. There is a 9'th st exit off of I-264, but I think you went the best route. Maybe the next time in town you'll see Churchill Downs ( Twin Spires). Do you drive certain regions of the country, or wherever you lay your hat is your home? Stay safe. Thanks!
I live on the Sunny Side ☀️ of Louisville for over 55 years. There's been nothing good in The Vill since the 1980s. GO CARDS 80 & 86
Welcome to my hometown, sorry the city sucks for trucking. At least it wasn’t raining
I like going to places that are about to close. They want to get done and go home so they haul butt and get you loaded or unloaded nice and quick.
Awsome video🤗
Hey man I started watching your shows bout a week ago, and I’m the type of guy I had to go back & start from the beginning! I’m on the one where you pulled over in Wyoming 2 years ago 😂… don’t know how long it’s gonna be till I catch you, give me a shout out and when I hear it I’ll let cha know..
If you wanna have some real fun hop on 65 south out of Louisville. Not as bad as north but I drive a semi through there everyday and idk how my truck isn’t destroyed from the road
You're in my hometown. Where you are is a pretty bad area, always lock your doors and keep your head on a swivel. As for the loud mustang, it seems ok with our PD and leaders for cars to run straight pipes, its extremely obnoxious, Waddy is a great little town, I fish not too far from there, beautiful country
awesome videos
I grew up in Hopkinsville and live 12 miles outside of it now. We have family in Louisville and it isn’t my favorite place to drive, to big of a town for me. Give me the country and I’m happy. I know exactly where you was while filming this entire video. My husbands niece got married at the Brown Theater. Make sure and stop at Beaver Dam next time. Stay safe.
yo same except im still here
Hey dave I live in the city you was in on the way to louisville it's starts with a S be safe and god bless the exit was 117
Hello Dave should try put back up camera back behind trailer
I hate going through cities to many tight spots and back in docks and turn on them streets
I have a stretched Rig and it’s worse to back up
I remember them days Dave just take your ⏰we're professionals for A reason
God bless you mate
It’s always unnerving whenever you’re the only truck in an area haha.
first month OTR by myself with PAM Transport and I get lost in downton Louisville
"Right down up in Louisville" You can take the boy out of the South, but you can't take the South outta the boy! ;)
“Trucking blizzog” 😂😂😂
I live just across the river in Jeffersonville, Indiana
14:28 i hate when traffic lights do that. you wait all that time for you to go and it changes from green to yellow fast.
I hate the ones that just randomly turn yellow then red when there are no other cars at said intersection. lol
@@PhilMcIntyler There's a reason why they do that, and sometimes it has to do with your headlights and reflections due to the photocells that some of them use to detect cars.
Often times if you flash your headlights on a stale red at night, it'll change. You have to have good, well directed lights for it to work well though. I put LEDs in mine to not only serve this purpose but also just to straight up see better (and yeah, I have them properly angled so they're not blinding anyone).
@@happinessiskey2858 angle means jack, it still hurts peoples eyes and is still a danger, anything above 4000k should be a $400 ticket. F U
@@happinessiskey2858 Also some traffic lights at intersections are on timers. You're right about how some lights at intersections randomly change when no car is at the light waiting for it to go green.
@@happinessiskey2858 I’m not aware of any light based vehicle detectors in use at traffic signals (other than emergency/transit preemption). Cameras sure, but not sure if flashing lights would actually affect them.
Hey next time your there you can park at Clarksville Indiana at the derby dinner play house between the hotel
Oh Dave! Nothing on the panhandler huh? Lol!
They got a CFI terminal in London Kentucky have you been down this way yet
The outtro clip.....is that Oregon over by the Dalles river?
Sure was Oregon on 84 next to the River.
Congrats you said loo a vul right! Welcome to the ville, home of great bourbon, horse racing, papa johns, KFC, pizza hut, taco bell headquarters, Louisville Slugger, the brown hotel home of the hot brown sandwich. We make a lot of ford trucks, and move the world through sdf worldport home of the ups air fleet. I hope your time here was at least somewhat enjoyable
It’s not bad. I had to go on a few dozen side streets there. Just keep your cool and it’ll be good. And I’ve been on 9th street its always f*cked up 😂
Man im surprised they havent hauled you over to the southwest and northwest, bro you would love it over this way man. Forest backroads in the mountains straight lonely desert roads. Man, it dont seem like much but if you headed over this way this place is mint 👌
The current company is, AFAIK, a regional carrier in the mid Atlantic, Midwest and southeast areas only.
He’s generally home on weekends now.
I’m regional now, I can’t go out west since I’m home every weekend. Would be hard to get me over there and back in a week.
My company does OTR also but I’m pretty happy having two days off a week now. Much better work/home balance.
@@RidingWithDave even if sometimes it’s more like a day and half off or so but certainly much better than weeks away!
I delivered to Louisville Tuesday
You should look up the can opener in Louisville LMAO
That loves in waddy gets full really early
When you said arriving at a truckstop at FOUR I cringed. Thinking 50/50 shot on whether it’s full or not lol
Hi Dave, juist a quick advisory... driving YES, singing...NNNNOOOOOOOOOO. Keep on drivin' buddy! Regards...Come back Colin. 😂

But right now I live in grants pass Oregon and right now grants pass Oregon is currently under a severe thunderstorm watch until 6-8-2023 in the evening when the watch is allowed 2 expire

What's up
I’m sorry you had to experience the driving in our city 🙄😭
very nice video . wich camera you use ?
Hero 10
Sunday morning
imagine a steering wheel holder being called a 'professional driver'
Louisville is where I was born, but I was raised 30 miles south of here!
Me to lol, are you a cards fan or a cats fan
@@MrTravi94 Cats.
Hey Dave! Thank you very much for the vids!!!
Got a question for you; Would you rather deliver to downtown-cities (like this Louisville delivery) or the more rural locations (like the Hiwassee [sp?] location you posted about like a month ago)?
Truckers genuinely don’t mind either.. aslong as the address is visible and the directions are clear and precise! What usually makes some places annoying to deliver to is the building has the incorrect company name or no satellite image no signs no nothing.. wrong address all kinds of stuff.. we love seeing the city hate the traffic.. love rural areas hate the local roads because they are narrow. Lol love hate relationship between trucks and roads
Always rural for me. I would rather deliver to a rural area since it’s “usually” easier to get there, I enjoy it more and a lot of times they have more space and are less busy than an inner city. It depends though been to many crappy rural places, but overall rural any day of the week.
@@RidingWithDave 🧐 same but that’s interesting! You been down to kissime Florida? I think you’d like it! It’s hot down there right now though.
Wassup Dave
hi from a Louisvillian
You don't really show that many videos of you going into truck stops or getting fuel huh? Those can be interesting too. Either way, great videos.
Getting fuel not much but quite a few have me going to truck stops to end my day.
I use to call that bat King Kongs bat
Dave, I live outside of Louisville
Is there a difference between content and rambling? Asking for a friend!!
I grew up down there and you want to park in that parking spot well that part of town you’ve been dead by morning
What kind of mountain is that you got for your Garmin brother Dave
Garmin OTR 810
les go
You make me laugh just by safe mkay
Louisville is so ghetto as someone from louisville. Downtown is so ghetto i love the outskirts like middle town or hurstborn
I was literally there two days ago lol😂
Those horses
howdy!
What is the Check Engine about?
Just be safe in Kentucky and Louisville. I noticed your truck has an engine light on just be safe there.
It’s a Volvo it comes with check engine light on out of factory
Sensors are very sensitive
Yeah pretty much every truck I’ve had has a check engine light that goes on and off. Absolutely normal out here haha
Same mines been on for 60,000 Miles now shop just can't get rid of it so we gave up lol
Volvo pretty much turns on those check engine lights from the factory. Every Volvo I’ve ever driven (old and new) has had that light on lol.
Jason Aldean there ya go
Is the engine light on?
What happened to ryan, bobby, jake? I cant find anything on them.
Welcome to the horrible commonwealth of Kentucky but it’s nice to see my home state again
Besides Louisville, Kentucky is one of my absolute favorite states to truck in and through.
@@RidingWithDave oh my gosh you commented on this. I enjoy all your content and yes Kentucky is very beautiful but ran by idiots
America traffic lights are so bad 😂
