- Sigma Sport Bicycle Computer - How to Set Wheel Size
I'm making this video just so I won't have to find or read the manual again!
Sigma Sport Manual Link: www.sigmasport....
My web site bike tire size calculator:
www.berkshiresp...
I don't really understand this, but here are the wheel size settings I use (which are for MPH):
16x1.75x2 = 0790
20x1.75x2 = 0988
24x1.75x2 = 1184
24x1 3/8 A = 1210
26x3/4 = 1214
26x1 = 1225
26x1.5 = 1258
26x1.6 = 1274
26x1.75x2 = 1286
26x1 3/8x1 1/2 = 1296
26x1.9 = 1298
700x18C = 1306
26x1 3/8 = 1307
26x2.00 = 1313
700x20C = 1313
26x2.125 = 1325
700x23C = 1325
700x25C = 1333
700x28C = 1335
27x1 1/4 Fifty = 1350
700x32C = 1350
27x1 1/4 = 1366
28x1 3/8x1 5/8 = 1370
700x35C = 1370
28x1.5 = 1381
700x40C = 1381
28x1 1/2 = 1407
28x1.75 = 1409
The manual also has wheel size settings for KPH (and what I don't get is why these would be different):
16x1.75x2 = 1272
20x1.75x2 = 1590
24x1.75x2 = 1907
24x1 3/8 A = 1948
26x3/4 = 1954
26x1 = 1973
26x1.5 = 2026
26x1.6 = 2051
26x1.75x2 = 2070
26x1 3/8x1 1/2 = 2086
26x1.9 = 2089
700x18C = 2102
26x1 3/8 = 2105
26x2.00 = 2114
700x20C = 2114
26x2.125 = 2133
700x23C = 2133
700x25C = 2146
700x28C = 2149
27x1 1/4 Fifty = 2174
700x32C = 2174
27x1 1/4 = 2199
28x1 3/8x1 5/8 = 2205
700x35C = 2205
28x1.5 = 2224
700x40C = 2224
28x1 1/2 = 2265
28x1.75 = 2268 - Хобби
Thank you! Husband is still using this computer. Handed it to me and told me to figure out how to adjust the wheel size. Ready to ride!
He doesn’t sound too bright!😂
Thanks to your posting, I was able puzzle out the correct information for my Tires. Here is the formula for odd sized tires:
For KPH: Enter the circumference of the tire connected to the computer in Millimeters. (i.e. roll the tire on the ground, and measure the distance of one complete revolution.
For MPH: Multiply the millimeters from above by 0.6124 (the conversion from kilometers to miles).
Thanks again!
I’m only 13 and my old bike was useless and my dad has been letting me ride his bike, he has one of these and he gave me a new battery. I will be testing this tomorrow with my friends! Thanks!
After several years (read 10 years) picking up the bike again, with this computer on it. Ofcourse the battery is empty and had to start from scratch. Thanks for this, now i can go and bike with lots of pleasure.
You are awesome. Thanks for taking the time to explain my stupid sigma to me. I couldn't figure out why I had no speed. And I never would have figured out the damn wheel size.
This was great! I lost my manual and couldn't find anything on the Sigma site. Needed to change from km to mi, which you showed, but you also reminded me to adjust my wheel size for new tires. Thanks!
Click on the description of this video to see all the wheel sizes.
Thank you for posting this manual.
Thanks for the video. I think the type is the BC 1200. I have set the wheel size of a graph on the Schwalbe website, 2200 (622-37). It seems pretty accurate when compared to GPS speed, but there are more precise ways to calculate it.
Thank you thank you thank you! I've been so frustrated having this being incorrectly calibrated, and finally the readings are accurate.
just got a bike with this bicycle computer. Thank you so much!
I just dug out my old Sigma sport as my newer fancy wireless Polar unit is no longer supported, and found this very useful video. To clarify the wheel settings, it uses mm for kph, and 1/1000 mile for mph. Most now use mm whatever the input, pretty sloppy of the programmer to use a measurement for which there is no ruler lol. So measure circumference in mm and divide by 1.6.
The clock can also be set in clock mode, by pressing the same set button.
I don't have this exact model, but the video was still helpful in figuring things out. (no manual) Thanks.
Thanks, I reset my odometer to zero the start of every riding season. The sigma sport is on my mountain bike, have a sigma wireless for my road bike but still have the manual for that one.

Thanks for this very helpful, was getting discrepancy between bike mounted computer and GPS watch, now much better.
for most accurate wheel size
*Measure overall height of the tire in inches;
*Multiply by 25.4 to convert to mm.
*Multiply by 3.14 to get the circumference of the wheel.
*Divide by 1.61 for MPH
Sometimes you press SET button to apply the config. and the odometer "resets" all the data. You have to try this sequence many times....
I'm sorry, I don't have this unit anymore and don't have a way to try to figure that out for you. :-(
To get the most accurate calibration do a wheel roll out. With the valve stem perpendicular to the ground, mark the pavement at the valve stem. With the riders weight on the bike, roll the wheel one tire revolution in a straight line and mark the ground when the valve stem is perpendicular to the ground again. Measure the distance in inch or millimeters (depending on your measuring type).
This is the most accurate wheel calibration number.
Hope this helps
U the best. Save me a lot of headaches
Yes, it's the circumference of your wheel with tire on it. And it depends on how inflated you have it. Search for: "berkshire sports wheel size calculator" on Google. The first link should bring you to my web site. Up in the upper left menu - I have Bike Tire Size Calculator that might help you out. You could use linear interpolation to get the right size.I have something that does that part way down the page.
nice review and quality considering the time of the publishing
Thank you so much, super helpful.
This is maddening; Everyone seems to say wheel size, but isn't the tire the actual thing that matters? Even the instructions from Sigma say wheel, but show you how the measure the wheel with the tire on, and including the tire. My tire size falls in between two settings (26x2.10); but my wheel size does have a setting. Which should I use, and if the tire, go bigger or smaller to match?
Thanks.
The late great Sheldon Brown gives the setting for a 700 x 23c wheel to be 2097 but the Sigma manual that came with the computer says it is 2133.
gracias! me ha ayudado mucho! , un modelo antiguo que todavía me funciona genial!
Thanks for posting this, is really helpful.
Put the BC1200 on "clock"
Press the 's' button on the back of the computer. Use top button to change hours or minutes. Use bottom button to change numbers.
Clock is 24 hour
Press "s" button on rear when done
Invaluable! Thank you for making this!
Description has been updated with all the wheel sizes from manual. Your wheel size isn't listed. I think you want the circumference of the wheel, maybe in millimeters? You want to measure wheel that will have the magnet. I'd get on the bike, and measure the distance of one revolution of the wheel and see what you come up with. Should be 700-800 kind of range (in mm) I'm guessing.
Tks the wheel size chart saved me!!!
Thanks for posting. As for the wheel size code and miles versus kilometers, I think that doesn't make any difference. I assume the computer converts that independent of the wheel size.
I just go buy my tire size. I list some common tire sizes at the end of the video, around 3:11 into it. I believe you're supposed to measure the distance of one revolution of your tire in mm. If I remember my high school algebra right, you would take the diameter (or 2xradius) of the wheel (including tire, probably with you sitting on it to depress the tire) and multiply by 3.14
Brilliant dude. Just brilliant.
I'm confused.you say 1333 for 700x25c but a chart on google says 2105? I have an old sigmc bc800 and need to set it with no instructions
Check out this link I found (seems to show 1333 is correct for MPH): www.livetoplaysports.com/news-press/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/LTP-SIGMA-SleepMode_Poster-Nov-2013.pdf
Legend! Thanks!
How do you turn off the device ? Great video !
cool thank you i just also been told to set it to 26 x 2.215
thank you again ;)
Thank you for this video. Please can you tell me how to set the time?
Thanks, very helpful!
I'd take a picture of that and tell your friends you really went that fast! :-)
Thanks for the vid!! but again a product that is more difficult than it needs to be..that set button could be a little more higher than it is
thanks for posting this video
Without the wheel size chart, this video is of limited use.
The manual for this bike computer can be downloaded if you google the following :
Manual BASELINE BC 800 int - Sigma Sport
Save the manual on your computer.
what model is your sigma thing bc i have the same one and i loat me manual and i wanted to see if it is on sigma sports website
Does width have anything to do with it? I have 700x23c wheels, so will it be the same as this (1342)?
Thanks mate sorted mine out!!
Does the screen light up (and stay lit up until you toggle it off) for reading it at night?
@texasRGV it looks like 2213 works as well, wasn't much different from 2070
what is the wheelsize 2???? please someone to tell me
thanks for sharing. this was really helpful

Simply thanks dude
hi, I have a bicycle with 700x25c, but how I get 1333 wheel size? and this 1333 is what??? mm or what? I thought it's 700*25=17 500 but that's too much :D
i have echowell ecr4 wired speedometer. it works fine, but doesn't measure rpm anymore. Everything else works except rpm function. I did reset few times, but no use. Do you maybe know what is problem?
Really helpful thank you very much.
[iminent led][/led] Thanks, it was usefull!
Thank you very very much man :X !
@texasRGV no...is 2133.....
Hia Brad.
I lost my manual some time ago and now having changed the batterie I don't have it properly set anymore, can you tell me what the setting for 26x2.20 is please? Thanks
please help me! I have 42 - 622 (700 x 40c - 28 x 1 5/8) tires! Which is the corect value? 2230mm?
Thanks!
Thanks! that is fantastic.
I THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!!
Hi from Greece, can anyone help me.. i have a 26" 2.10 tyre and Kmh unit. please what Wheel Size must set at my Bicycle Computer. 2091 or 1991 or something else??? Thanks!
i want to buy a good but 100 or under bike computer what should i get
What should I put for a 26 in tire
Thanks for help !
You're welcome!
For 29x2.1 it's 2288
niFe i
what should i put for a 20 in tire?
the numbers in the book it clearly states are the circumference not diameter so measure your diameter then convert to circumference on the internet with a converter and use the closest number in millimeters circumference and input that into the gauge. for instance 700X32 c equals 2166 millimeters circumference and is only off POINT342 millimeters and that is due to inflation or tread depth and or wear.. so your numbers are wrong. you must measure to be exact diameter DO NOT use the indicated wrong size estimates based on stock tire numbers they are wrong instead you must measure. over and out.. this is for mph or kph because that's internal based on setting the circumferences are the same.
The exact circumference in millimeters mine measured 2166.342 mm so I used the numbers 2166. And point 342 millimeters will wear off your tires in little time if you ride a lot and is miniscule for calculating mph from circumference inside the unit itself. but also can be due to inflation pressure and atmospherical conditions. I believe this was a near 27.25" measured diameter even though both my 700CX32 tires and 27.5" tires measured both exactly at 27.25" inflated tire diameter near exact diameter but very exactly 2166mm circumference.
Thank you
Thanks
to set clock, hold S button down on the clock screen
What...please explain.
he measures speed ?
So, what code to enter for 26x2.10?
he is setting in MPH NOT KPH. the wheel size with be very different for KPH
what is it for 26x 1.95
Code for 23x622?
26x2.1 = 2095mm, with Calibration is near 2070
i dont understand. 700x20??!?!?!? how do i know whats mine?
what about 2,25x23 i dont understand that ??? ;/
I don't know what circumference that would be and if it would go that low, but, go to the RUclips user SigmaSportUSA and ask them. They've been very good about answering my questions.
Sigma Sport пойдет для пацана ростом 158 см 13 лет?
26" 2.125 rim is 2070
On my web site berkshiresports org I have a wheel size calculator.
too bad they disable comments now on the model i have....
@Fujin95 1973...
2,146
700x25 should be 2146
Brad Herder would 2146 be the size for kmh?
Hello. I have one of these bitches. When on Wheel size, i have 700x25. So correct value is 2.146? Manual says 2146, no dot anywhere =s
me too
sorry in KPH please
26x2.1 = 2095mm !!!
Ugh... unfortunately, I don't have this computer anymore.... so can't tell you how to set the time. Sorry.
pls try to speak portuguese lol, i would like to ask you several question about bicycle computer.
Probably about 2130.
Brad Herder 1333 isn’t accurate?
Incredible. Instead of typing in the mm circumference of the different tyres, you type in the (kilometres to mile conversion ratio) multiplied by (the tyre circumference in mm). All manuals and other videos say you do not need to do this, even when you have set the computer to mph. Will have to see if your setting is sensible.
@texasRGV it looks like 2133 works as well, wasn't much different from 2070
Thanks! great explanation....
hello! please help me out here. i have 26''x2.25 wheel size , ertro 57-559. what is the corect value for my sigma bc 509 to insert?
Try my little tool here: www.berkshiresports.org/index.php?ID=bikecomputertiresizecalculator
2115 by that tool. You can get it really accurate using the measured mile method at the very bottom of that page. Set it to 2115, then go ride a measured mile, then adjust it.
TopShots Brad is 2155 standard for an 28inch roadbikerim?
you must measure exact diameter or circumference with string or tape for most accurate, do not go by stamped tire sizes they are false and for reference for tubes and wheels only. for example I measured the exact circumference with a string and then tape measured that in millimeters must get extra large tape roll. plus I measured diameter exact with tape measure and tire inflated and worn. then converted diameter to exact circumference in millimeters mine measured 2166.342 mm so I used the numbers 2166.
Thanks pal
