  • The earliest known performances of "All in All" date to Toad the Wet Sprocket's fall 1989 tour opening for the B52's that began in Maine and finished in Texas. The song was played regularly throughout 1990 before disappearing from live Toad shows. The band resurrected the song for their fall 1997 tour after its inclusion in the B-sides album In Light Syrup. Toad played "All in All" as well during a few of their 2003 shows before it disappeared entirely from their live sets. This performance was recorded in California in early May 1990 at the end of Toad's second national tour. Visit www.comebackdow... for additional Toad/Glen history!

      100%. Elevated the young band to a new level right off the bat. So many great ideas in every measure, throughout the Toad canon

    Toad Fan since Pale thanks to 120 mins. I've seen them more times than I can count. Saw them 8 years ago or so and paid for the fan meet/greet and soundcheck. Todd and Glen talked to the crowd and asked for requests. I shouted "All in All" and Todd heard me and said "let's do it". Glen was very reluctant to do it, saying that he cannot hit the notes. Todd looked over and said "tune down" and Glen agreed. He said "you can record it but just for you". I recorded it and they played "All in All" in a soundcheck. I think it was in Ohio. I"ll have to find my video of it. It wasn't perfect but to see them do it again live was spectacular. I wish they would play more of the older era of Toad. I'd love to hear them play Pale tunes and Bread and Circus. Both records are darker and slow, maybe not totally live mojo but I know that die hard fans of Toad would LOVE to hear them reach back that far. We have literally grown up with the band and they are like,,, a warm blanket or the feeling of coming home. Something so comforting about this band. Glen is such an underrated songwriter and lyricist.

      Hey Kevin, Scott here, I just stumbled upon your comment LOL just sitting here thinking of Earl, he turned me onto Toad, and I remember we went and saw them...we got in early during the sound check and I think it was fort Lauderdale or Miami...... they played when we recovered. And that was awesome! Miss you bro! much love! Come to think of it, I believe it was the Button South! Now that's a blast from the past ✌️

    Excellent Toad song...always a favorite of mine. Outstanding co-lead vocals by both Todd & Glen here.

      @@TJH1971 yea right? There's back up... But this is the only one where they truly share the vocals.... Which makes it fun to sing cause you gotta mix glens range with Todd low intensity while singing along (terribly of course). Hey now!

    Much as I love the version of this on In Light Syrup, kinda wish they would've given it the full production magic and put it on Fear.

    • @taylorh4480
      @taylorh4480 11 месяцев назад

      that was the "fear" sessions version. and "All I Want" went on the album in its place so I think they made the right call

    • @audibletapehiss3764
      @audibletapehiss3764 11 месяцев назад

      @@taylorh4480 That was definitely the right call, but even though that version is from the fear sessions, it's not fully produced, so it was an easy call.

    Glen looks so much more natural with a guitar. He looks painfully forced without one.
