Stark Varg First Ride in the Dunes - Full Ride

  • Here is the full first ride of the Stark Varg in the dunes. Rode with an 8 paddle tire and stayed in 40-45 hp for the majority of the ride. The throttle response is way better around that setting. We ended up riding for about 40 minutes and got down to 34% battery. The sand was really soft in some areas so the bike had to work extra hard. I've only clipped a few sections of the ride where we were just hanging out but this is the full ride. As you watch you can see the different types of sand we ran into to get an idea of how the bike was working. Still the best bike I've ever ridden.
    More footage will be coming soon as I process the videos. Now that I'm home on the Varg...no oil change, no air filter check, no maintenance needed. On the KTM...all of that is on the list.

      Such a great place. It's definitely my favorite. Especially when you're the only ones out there. Thanks for watching!

    I got mine out in the Idaho dunes yesterday. Didn’t mount a paddle, just ran the pirelli.
    She overheats and pulls power pretty quickly being wide open for 1-2 min in the sand.
    Was able to kill it in 11 miles for my new record haha 🙌🏻 I do have mousses in as well. Interested to try again later this year with a paddle and see if range increases.

      That's a crazy record! We typically got about an hour riding even at 80hp the whole time. Love this thing.

      This ride I was leading for the 11 year old in the odyssey. The guys bike rides are definitely faster and crazier.

    They need to do what Mercedes does and add a speaker that pumps out engine noise or something 😂 The electric whine just sounds so awful. I feel like a gorilla saying this but man enjoying the sound of an engine is definitely a key aspect of riding.

      It does take a while to get used to. Once I got used to it I kinda liked it. Hearing the paddle slapping into the ground and how it responded to different types of sand.

    How was the battery life in the dunes compared to a tank of gas in a 450? Was hoping to get mine before the end of the season but that's not going to happen. have to wait until fall.

    • @JKTester
      @JKTester  4 месяца назад

      My 450 has a desert tank and can go for several hours easily. My friend that has a stock yz 450 can get several hours as well. So really there's no comparison. The stark really only gets about an hour of goo's riding in the dunes.

    What a day. Not a sole out there. I’m unsurprised at the bike working in the dunes. I like when you hit the soft patch. Those are a pain. At least you didn’t go over the bars! Is that bike pretty durable? Well built?

    • @JKTester
      @JKTester  5 месяцев назад

      I didn't go over the bars on this trio but my buddy did on the stark. I'm putting that video together now. The build is amazing. Really good quality materials and strong frame. Even if you break all of the plastics it's about $300 bucks and 5 bolts to replace them all. This was the week before Easter.

    How are you going to charge that out in glamis with out using a GAS generator . What’s the point just ride a gas dirt bike.

    • @JKTester
      @JKTester  5 месяцев назад +2

      Love this question. I charged it with a mix of solar and a generator. I didn't buy it to save the environment. I bought it because there's nothing else out there making 80 hp that can propel you up the face of a dune while still accelerating. I still rode my 450 and all of the other gas toys. The whole point of it is its a beast that you never have to do maintenance on...no changing pistons, air filters, oil...nothing. Just charging and riding.

    No wheelies, no jumps no fun. Why so boring riding? For that kind of riding you should have gotten yourself a Sur Ron. And saved your money. Man your riding in the dunes, go play, have som fun. Stop with this granny riding, and challenge yourself. And you might wanna crank up the power.
