HeroQuest’s Greatness that Changed My Life

The 1989 cult classic Heroquest is beloved by many a fantasy fan, and I definitely had my fair share of miniatures awesomeness growing up. This game just blew me away when I was young for how simple it was, and how immersive gameplay ended up being. Is HeroQuest worth getting again in 2020 with Hasbro’s reprint?
HeroQuest is an early attempt at being an accessible dungeons and dragons styled game, with one player controlling Zargon, the game master who doubles as the sorcerer trying to conquer the land. The rest of the players play as the 4 fantasy heroes, from the barbarian to the wizard, attempting to defeat Zargon through 14 quests over a campaign. It’s simple, accessible, and has amazing minis, but the gameplay is sorely rough around the edges.
