Trains at Neukloster with Br 246+Dostos and S-Bahn Hamburg

Neukloster is a district of Buxtehude with 1,800 inhabitants and a stop on the Niederelbebahn. For the extension of the Hamburg S-Bahn to Stade in 2007, the two platforms were rebuilt to a height of 76cm and a length of 140m. Since the S-Bahn trains have an entry height of 1m, there is a step of roughly 25cm. Previously the platforms were approximately at track level. There is a large P+R parking lot on the northern side of the station. Covered bike racks are available on both sides. From the opening of the S-Bahn in 2007 until December 2023, there was a direct connection to Hamburg city center through the S3. Since the reorganization of the S-Bahn network in December 2023, Neukloster has been served by the new S5, which does not run through the city tunnel from Hamburg main station, but via the Verbindungsbahn.
