    That 6 second shot was totally worth the time you put into it. When you take extra effort to do something special it says a lot about how much you care about your product. I was impressed.

    The Target is just an example of some West Texas Humor. There is a similar Prada Store in Marfa.
    You're blowing through the best part of Texas, in my opinion. Alpine, Marathon, Marfa, Ft. Davis, Terlingua, Big Bend NP are some of the most interesting and beautiful places in the state. The weather out there this time of year is great, also.
    Happy Camping

    Awesome video, as usual. You do go to great lengths to produce excellent videos. You have the "Best" sound level audio editing of anyone I watch. So many channels have their volume levels all over the place. One second you have to turn up the volume to hear conversations and the next it's so loud you're scrambling to turn it down. Thanks for sharing. Be safe, enjoy the journey.

    Hi Eric, I found your channel about a month ago and must say despite all of the rude comments you speak of I think you do an excellent job with all aspects of your channel. It gives me great pleasure to see your art of filming and editing put together to produce some excellent viewing of some places I would probably not get to see and some I might.
    You give me hope that someday I can escape the cold and snow of Northern Indiana winters and start chasing 70 when my wife retires UofND.
    Keep up the great work. If you get back to Northern Indiana some time look me up and we can have a cup of coffee and a conversation. Maybe we can squeeze you in our driveway for a short stay.
    Stay safe and happy,

    I'm wondering how you got the very distant shot of your RV driving across the bridge. You must have put a lot of effort to setup the camera position for that shot. Nice!

    • @nomadicfanatic
      @nomadicfanatic  7 лет назад +100

      I posted a video over on Patreon talking about the shot. Yes, I left my Canon camera back at the campsite, drove back out to the highway, drove over the bridge, made a u turn, drove back towards the campsite again, came back to get the camera, and then I "really" left the campsite. Often times, I may be putting a little too much effort into a 6 second shot.... But it's fun to do.

    OMG, LOL for sure. I REALLY laughed out loud for a couple of minutes over that Target. That was sooo funny. So glad you filmed it. I loved Ft. Davis. Did you see the fort? You were only 3 miles from Ft. Davis State Park - another cool place to visit, and about 30 miles from the McDonald Observatory. I went there, but got there after it closed. I really want to go back and visit Ft. Davis again. It doesn't look like it, being a very small town, but there's a lot to do nearby. On Highway 90, you may have passed right by the Prada Store, lol, and not even know it. Google Prada Marfa. It's right on Highway 90, west of Marfa, just west of the tiny town of Valentine, Texas. It was built as a piece of art. It's a tiny store front, and behind the glass are real Prada shoes and handbags. Unfortunately, after it was built with the shoes on display, it got robbed. I guess they broke the glass. So now there are still shoes in the window, but only one foot of each shoe, not a pair. It's really cool. Do take a minute to Google it. There's so much nearby, although you don't really know it just going down the road. Do think about coming back. Eric, you are an awesome videographer. I was doing some amateur photography, but never had time to learn videography. Your bridge shot was amazing, as well as the time lapse from your dashboard. Very cool.

    I suppose you could send a revision request to Google to update their info.
    Wow about all of those rattlesnake varieties. As a hiker & camper, I've had numerous encounters with them, some where I've almost got bit.
    I don't know what your plans are, but if you keep heading west on I-10, it is the annual international gem & mineral fest in Tucson.
    Happy Trails!

    The bridge shot was great! I haven't been down that road. I've been all over Texas, but it's quite a sizable state. Laredo is preferably my least favorite location. Stayed in Cross Plains to visit a friend. Bought my guitar in Abilene. Just passed through Amarillo a couple days ago, left Santa Rosa, NM heading to Joplin, MO. Left Joplin at sunset and arrived in Chicago at Dawn. Catching Zs in a warehouse parking lot.

What I remember the most as far as the eye could see it was white sand beautiful white sand and it had shells seashells of all sorts. Probably was in my early teens.
