to sir phillip with love, the letters kinda give "with a comma after dearest" vibes iykyk. also i love gregory in his book hes really unhinged. i havent read hyacinths yet but she also seems kinda unhinged just in personality. but when gregory just broke into lucys room i was like " yeah breaking and entering lets go!" in a very fun way
Eloise's book is simultaneously my favourite one and also the most infuriating one. I appreciate the fact that Sir Philip is an absolute awkward idiot who just goes to tend to his plants any time he can't handle a situation over being just another scoundrel rake, raking up the place and gathering STDs. Which at times is absolutely hilarious. This book is definitely the funniest one of the bunch. The confrontation with the brothers literally invented comedy. Imagining that giant man (who apparently used to wrestle) just letting himself get dunked on by the 3 brothers (while Colin whines about missing Pen and being hungry) is really fuckin funny. And in other times this can get a bit infuriating because these books don't really like to focus on overtime development of characters gradually changing their behaviour. Which would really just improve this as a ROMANTIC story. I also wish they just had MORE time to get to know eachother before marrying eachother. (which I'm assuming is something the show will do, because i expect them to start writing to eachother during season 4) Phillip's socially awkward, can't string his feelings together in a sentence ass paired with Eloise's confrontational, literally talks circles around him ass creates a very interesting dynamic where i think it really gives both characters room to grown and match eachother's pace. And I really envisioning the show taking the really good parts of their story and expanding upon them. I get the feeling that the show, to match this story more with show Eloise's personality, might have her become something like a governess of the Crane estate. That's an idea that that show played around a bit with Kate, who Eloise connected with. That's also one of the jobs women could actually have at the time and something Eloise might want to pursue, rather than going there in hope of matching with Philip. It would also make sense with him wanting someone to take care of his children. I feel like that scenario will just make more sense of some things while letting others play exactly the same way. It also leaves them on a starting ground where it's a bit less confusing to watch Philip be emotionally stunted about liking Eloise and it will make him seem less like he is ONLY in this for convenience. Because if his children needing a caretaker is the setup, that being an actual JOB rather than them GETTING MARRIED being treated as a business transaction, gives room for the actual romance to feel more organic. Think. The Sound of Music or The Nanny.

He's so misogynistic and only wanted a house keeper and nanny who he could f at night (got a bonus since Eloise is pretty). He definitely doesn't deserve her or his children's love.
I really hope they make all 8 seasons (and a Violet and Edmund prequel series) It seems like they will considering how popular the show is.. I'm most interested in how they adapt the stories to suit the show and the characters they've created, especially Eloise
there's hope for a prequel, maybe even earlier, since there's the queen charlotte spin-off (with a young violet already casted who is perfect). i really love the parents and hopefully mama bridgerton gets a second chance at love in s3 part 2

Honestly the way Netflix is I seriously doubt we’ll get to see all 8 stories. What I think is going to happen is season 5 will air and then Netflix will cancel it. Also I really hope the show reworks Sir Phillip because Eloise is such a strong character she deserves more than Phillip yelling at her to never complain that she’s not happy 😒
