Carly's scanner and free version of the app with standard OBD features are compatible with cars that have an OBD2 port. To see if Carly's advanced features - like coding or manufacturer-level diagnostics - should work with your car, check out their website. To access these additional features, you'll need to get their yearly license.
Carly is a bit of a rip off. Nowhere on its website does it CLEARLY state that it's a subscription service charged annually. When you go to checkout the checkout button is the first thing you see. You have to actually scroll down and only then do you see it saying that its a subscription service billed annually. Luckily i saw this but they know exactly what they're doing here. Also at the time of writing this it costs an extra £40-£60 to add all brands to the device. The annual charge is over £100 which is extremely expensive!
The product looks good, but the business model is horrible
I just bought the full version. also not knowing the subscription part. I feel like im scammed :P.
@@Bimbii yeah it's shady sales tactics. Much like manscaped. Most people don't look properly before buying and sign up to something they didn't intend to. I went with Carista in the end. Can subscribe as and when I need the scanner
@@BimbiiYep. total scam of a company. Cancel your card etc. Make sure to cancel the sub and keep all emails, screens in case they just take it anyway ( based on other reviews they have. )

I’m glad I’ve done that little research before purchasing it. Subscription was nowhere to be mentioned. For someone like myself who will only use it once a year it’s definitely a no no. Hopefully I can find a hassle free similar device that will do the same job while I’m paying just for the tool and not any shady subscription fees. Thanks 🙏

I bought a Carly to use on my Golf in the days when this was pretty much the only IOS option…. It wasn’t great. I could change things but found it difficult to reverse the change. The back up was hit and miss…. Mostly miss.
Thankfully OBDeleven bought out their new version of their VAG group specific wizardry which was IOS ready…. The OBDeleven is a better option for VW/Audi.
The Carly appears to work best with BMW only
I think Carly will always have me paranoid about my car with those many issues showing up!😅

I bought one for £80 for my Audi and had to pay the same again for the subscription. The coding part, which is why I really bought it, did not work properly. I ended up sending it back and got a full refund for everything. In my experience it was a waste of money.
Same apart from they wouldn't give me a refund. Cancelled subscription. Avoid
@@leeburford2385 mine didn’t work from day 1. I’ve got an old OBD11 reader I bought for £14 that does just as much fault diagnosis and clearing wise. Loads of people promote these Carly ones.

I bought a Carly and a subscription, after a couple of uses, I wish I hadn't. The potential to damage the cars' ECU irreversibly is massive.

Hi Can carly reset maf sensor adaptions on bmw and code injectors ?
I have the full version carly for Renault (have a brand new horsetruck), and it's horribly usless. Deleting codes show up after clearing, without even starting the engine. I had 120+ faults when the car had only 800km... and cannot code anything, no dpf regen etc. I' have heard it's better for BMW and looks so by this video 😂
Nah is shit also for bmw it show me 160 faults and pdf regeneration fault then i was to a real expert of diagnostic and he said the car is perfect like new just some error about the lights (because i changed the welcome door light )

It is subscription based & they tie you in knots with the purchase so their "satisfaction guarantee" is worthless

If you cancel the subscription, does the coding you do revert back to normal and do those changes stay?
Of course the coding will stay - they can't do anything over the air.

If you have a BMW bimmercode is another good option that supports coding and you can choose any adapter you like from their list (some are not that expensive and work just fine like the vgate vlinker mc+, which is what I got). The only gripe I have with bimmercode is that it only does coding - they have a separate app for faults and live data and such and it's not cheap either, which is kind of "meh" on their part IMO.
VW Group owners - just get OBDEleven, don't bother with Carly at all.

Hello! I see that your car (the audi a4 with multitronic gearbox) is getting off real quick after you stop to 0 km/h , i have a multitronic but my car it takes a bit of power to get off and if i dont accelerate just take my foot off the break my car bearly moves.... is a transmision problem or something wrong with engine?

Carly scammed me, cancelling the subscription doesn’t matter, they’ll still charge you a year later and refuse to refund. I found an OBDII reader from Aliexpress was better value for money at $30 compared to a few hundred now. Big regrets. Carly blows. 😢
Warning! Don't buy Carly! You cannot cancel the subscription. This is not a serious company.
Carly is a ripoff! Do not buy. They will charge you an unspecified "annual fee" of $175 then claim that they cannot refund it because you didn’t submit the cancellation one month before your "subscription" ended. What subscription? Oh, they bury that in the terms and conditions and don’t even tell you how much it is going to be. To find out, they direct you to a link that has no amounts and just puts you into a loop. Don't let them steal your money! Run away! Their customer service sucks.
