    Really like this quote I heard. Protein is a goal, Carbs are a limit, and Fat is a lever.

      Triple Hippie LoL Me too! Yaaasssss!!!! I use my hand blender and mash up my avocado with cream cheese and a lil heavy cream. Makes a really nice substitute to mayo (I hate mayo). Season it up with black pepper, cayenne, sea salt, and onion powder. Toss in some chopped onion and chopped homemade pickles. Yum!!!

    I stay super low carb (10-15 carbs), but I feel like I can never get enough fat, and way too much protein 😭.

      My problem too, I have a great voice in head that makes avoiding carbs easy. I'm always left scratching my head at the end of the day how to get more fat without just drinking oil or spooning butter...

    The problems I'm having is keeping my protein intake lower than my fat intake =/ and once I start eating more fat, I go over my calories for the day lol.. its a struggle.

    • @mrana2424
      @mrana2424 4 года назад +4

      This is the problem I came into...they keep saying get lost of your calories from fat yet they (keto advocates) typically don’t provide a way to make sure the fat to protein ratio is high enough.

    So I wanted to say THANK YOU! OMG your videos are fun and very engaging. You two are great at keeping it short and staying on track (for the most part)! I was 100% sure this was going to be the lifestyle change for me, however, was really intimidated by a lot of the other youtube channels out there. For me your videos are so real, you both understand the struggles of day to day life and are willing to share that with others! So again, thanks! Also...I got that refrence! LMAO!

    Faaaaat-bulous information yet again from the KC crew of two!
    Thanks so much, guys!
    I will definitely be joining the #20under20 challenge!
    I let myself get off track and some holiday baked goods won over my will power but that sluggish, bloated feeling I get post carb indulgence kicked me back into gear!
    Let's do this!
    Thanks again for another great video!
    (PS...I save every drop of extra fatty, bacony goodness in a special ceramic cup in the fridge. And just as you suggested, I scoop out a tablespoon each time I fry eggs or prepare veggies. Bacon (fat) makes everything bettah!)

    • @KetoConnect

    If you're doing oil pulling make sure you spit it in the trash not the sink. Coconut oil solidifies, it will clog your pipes. In case you didn't know...

      They are talking about "Pulling" which is the practice of swishing oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes to help "pull" the toxins and bacteria out. It's an ancient practice and has been touted as having all sorts of wonderful benefits, including the healing of cavities.

    • @andreabortolotto8996

      If it doesn't clog your pipes, it is going to make the area around your wastewater treatment plant SMELLY and upset a treatment plant operator. Use Dawn and hot water to degrease a dish!

    I just found your channel and i love it! My experience with oil pulling is that it really does work. Im a daily heavy cannabis consumer. My body is loaded with thc. I had a job interview (that I am now working at) that did the oral drug test. I smoked til 2 am and had my test 8 hours later. Thc is fat, oil, and alcohol soluble. So I did my pull twice along with brushing my teeth twice and I came up undetected. Not to mention I was able to pull pieces of food from space between my teeth I didn't know I had. As far as passing an oral drug test and getting stuff out your teeth, I say it's great!

    I love chicken thighs but lately I am partial to chicken wings.I crisp them in a dry skillet and after they are done I saute my veggies in the drippings.Also,you guys need to make a pizza recipe.Lately I have been taking a cup of mozzarella spread out in a pan and over hi heat I brown the bottom.Then I add a small amount of low sugar tomato sauce,green pepper and onion and voila pizza cravings actually curbed.But I have a feeling that mixing in some almond flour will make it even better.

Pictures and videos do help. In terms of noticing how your body has changed. Look at Matt's arms in this video. Compare them to your newest video, you can tell he has more muscle. I grew up on lard as most people in my age group did. When Crisco came out they were behind the constant adds that lard was not good for you. The public believed them. One of the biggest lies put out by the food manufacturers. Now people are dying of heart attacks like never before because of their awful lie. The generation under me grew up on crisco and margarine thats why the heart attack is the #1 killer right now.

    Lol, we've been on under 20g carb since Jan 01...most days under 18g.
    We use "carb manager" app that helped significantly on weight loss.
    We plan our meals meticulously using this app and cook books found on Amazon. I'm down from 215lbs to 185lbs. Wife down from 134lbs to 129lbs.
    We basically have same food, her bit less than I. She does snack and have breakfast, which I don't.
    NO EXERCISE AT ALL for us, just eat and lose for now. We have bought new elliptical machine to start working out.
    That was done so that we don't lose track of weight loss due to muscle weight gain.
    My goal, 165lbs. Her goal 125lbs. Getting close!

    Cook bacon and then eggs was the way I grew up. Football game days were Ground Beef and then eggs cooked in the same pan. Think about this, I played football in the 60's I'm still alive today.

    If you opt for a leaner meat just dump some butter on it or cook it in bacon grease. Bacon fat and butter are always delicious and can always be added to anything no matter how lean it is. It's like a crate your own macro at that point, up the protein or lower the fat or vice versa!

    • @KetoConnect
      @KetoConnect  7 лет назад

      Zingsterazn exactly! Everything is a create your own macro if you add butter/bacon.

    I'm on board with 20 under 20, but only in spirit. I don't actually count macros because keto is going well for me and I'm losing weight without counting macros. If I plateau then I'll start counting. I'm too lazy to start fucking with spreadsheets and food scales and things like that. I pay a lot more attention to the inflammatory and cortisol-inducing effects of what I'm eating than the actual macros and I've found that very beneficial. Also good to pay attention to micronutrients like vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, and even to incorporate some funky far East voodoo like ashwaganda and curcumin to help keep testosterone up (to combat visceral fat) and inflammation down.

    • @KetoConnect
      @KetoConnect  7 лет назад +1

      Andrew Brookes I listen to Abel James podcast and he is always recommending ashwaganda. Have you taken it and noticed benefits? It's something I've been wanting to try. Listening to your body is the most important thing of course! And not counting macros is totally fine, it's more of just a group effort at getting the year started right.

    • @andrewbrookes7025
      @andrewbrookes7025 7 лет назад +2

      Taking ashwagandha is like on of a million things I started doing at once as part of an all-of-the-above strategy to get rid of depression and excess fat. Like going on Keto, it was a two birds one stone thing because reducing inflammation and lowering cortisol helps both weight loss and brain health. But I didn't isolate the ashwagandha as a factor because I started taking a bunch of other things around the same time so I'm not sure it actually works or if it's everything else I'm doing that is working. But there is a lot of evidence out there about the benefits and if you think your stress levels are too high, cortisol is too high, or inflammation is too high, it would probably be worthwhile.

    First off let me say I love you guys and have been watching your videos the whole three weeks I was on Keto. I would so appreciate your thoughts on this. I did this diet for 22 days and had to quit yesterday. I did lose 17 lbs. I'm 5 /2 and was 184 lbs. I have arthritis and Fibromyalgia with bad knees. I know inflammation is my problem. Please know I'm not here to trash this diet. I know everyone has strong feelings when it comes to this diet. I didn't do well on Keto. Im thinking 17 lbs is to much weight to lose so fast. I felt like I was dying a week into it. I had no energy and it got worse everyday. I couldn't get up a flight of stairs and any kind of working out was out of the question. That being said I have been bloated for years ,seems whatever I eat or drink my stomach is crazy bloated. Not on Keto. My mother 105 lbs all her life same problem. Is this sugar or carbs that does this ? Keto took my bloating away. Thank You for any info and you guys are the coolest.
