- Chevy Cruze oil leak, smells like burnt oil. My 2013 Chev Cruze has developed a leak. It's an oil leak and although it's small the smell in the cabin is very annoying.
Let's take a look and see what we can see.
Recently I removed the turbo oil feed line to inspect it. Looks like the old oil seals were perished.
Let's install a new line.

Glad it was a simple fix Stephan 🙂👍 Take care 🔧🔩
Yes. Pretty straight forward. Thanks Zane !!
The turbo oil feed line should be changed out every 60k miles or 100k km per regular maintenance . If they clog ,which they do ,say hello to a new turbo
Yes. Thanks for your feed back
Good find with a Nice easy fix !!
Yes!! Thanks man !
Thanks for the helpful video. I also have the oil smell coming into cabin. I’m definitely going to check that feed line. My 2014 has 200k on it and also change oil religiously but never knew about that turbo supply line. Thanks again!👍🏼
You are welcome !!!!
The ticking can be fixed by tightening the chain tensioner under the valve cover. Use some sort of thread lock that isn’t permanent.
Thanks for the tip !
Car is coming along !
Good work
Thanks Ed !!
I did the same thing I changed the turbo oil inlet and replacement didn’t have same size torx so tightened the best I could. Eventually leak got so bad looked like the engine was on fire. The opposite side with the two o rings the bolt hole stripped out. Had to fix with a helicoil. Other places to cause same problem are the oil cooler seals. Job is a pain to do.
Thanks for sharing, these cars are notorious for leaks. Always something
Just replaced my old v1 line with the single Oring and no jacket. But now its leaking from the banjo bolt, its the exact same part you got from NAPA too. Its a dorman and i hot for 25 from amazon. But now i need a new one again, 2 weeks in too
With new Bangos and tight it should not leak. Might be dirt or something. Loosen it and retighten.
Turbos are maintenance nightmares sometimes. Everything has to be just right. I figured that was where it was from. I learned a looopong time ago. New seals are always a good idea. Even the washers on an oil pan especially a nylon washer. I bet your family loves your abilitie to fix their cars hahahaaha
Nah ... They don't care 😂
@@pstreetgarage7304 start charging them 75$ an hour... I bet they will hahahaaha
@@Whitecranekungfu The turbo line was 86 taxes in. I replaced it outside in the cold. I told my son he owed me 86 dollars 💰 for the part. He thought I was price gouging 🤣😆
Sure get a lot of good videos out of this car PSG 😊
Ya it's the project car that keeps on giving lol. Thank Jerry !
Very nice alll fixes should be that easy........😀
Ya this was a little too easy. But I'll take it
Nice job!
Thank you Sir ! I appreciate it 👍
@@pstreetgarage7304 You're doing just fine. What's the word on your C4?
@@ROXSTARCorvette4371 C4 is good. In the garage and out of the ❄️ snow
@@pstreetgarage7304 I for one am looking forward to seeing some videos come warmer weather.
Help! I replaced everything from the engine to stop the burnt oil entering the cabin, as well this piece. It’s still smelling bad. It happens a lot when I brake from 70 mph to a very low mph
I don’t want to change my cruze! I love it 🥺
That's a new one for me !?!? Are you sure it's Burt oil smell ? Maybe smell from the brakes ?
@
P Street Garage I have similar issue smoke is coming from engine because the oil cooler is leaking oil into catalyst
my question is: the oil can cause a fire o just is annoy it? i mean the fix could wait or it is urgent?
I believe oil cooler should be fixed !
@@pstreetgarage7304 do think that it could provocate fire? im very stress it for that reason.
@@Sabs761010 I don't think it's a fire hazard but if it's bad you can lose you oil and seize the engine. If it's very small keep a close eye on your oil level until you get the seals replacrd
@@pstreetgarage7304 thanks a lot and Greetings from Monterrey Mexico.
@@Sabs761010 Wow I love Mexico👍👍
Just did this to my 2011 cruz. Easy Peasy. Problem solved.
Awesome !
Is the new line still prone to clogs or is it better in that aspect as well
The new line has a small jacket around it to supposedly prevent the heat from cooking the oil.
Like an insulated blanket. Otherwise the same.
Degrease under the hood so you can see what is going on. It looks oily under the hood.
It's undercoating. I live in Canada
What is the name of the piece??? I am having this same problem
I believe it's called turbo oil line. Or turbo feed line
my friend my car have smoke same place and smells brunt oil but dont same problem with you
Have a look all around. There are many spots where oil can leak from
Eight minutes two bolts and you didn't show the installation lol
Sorry. I thought I did. 2 banjo connections. Some come as a bolt head. Some as an Allan head
how did you find it out?
They are prone to leaking apparently and also prone to clogging up. I had it out before. I guess the seals are a one time use
oh! awesome
@@jader8214 Thanks for watching !!! I hope it helped 👍
