2019 Tesla Model 3: Up close and personal with PPF installation

- It has been a while since posting up a video and even more so with this much detail.
I am not sure how many viewers bother reading the video text, but if you are reading this then I thank you for being a true subscriber (if you haven't please subscribe). I have been working on cars since I was 9 as my father was an American Muscle hobbyist. Summit Racing was the first magazine I used to be subscribed to. But my passion never lied in the specific things that I did, but instead in how well I did whatever I did. I challenged myself every time.
Being a one man shop, this challenge doesn't allow me to keep up with social media such as RUclips or Instagram as much as I would like. I am always focusing on making sure whatever project I am on gets done at 100% and that the client is beyond satisfied with the results. This video is one of the most detailed paint protection videos I have done and in 4K. I hope it is satisfying to watch as it was most satisfying to see the client's reaction when he picked up his new Tesla Model 3.
So I am up for challenges, interested in reaching the ends of the world. If you have a vehicle you are interested in protection, adding graphics or something out of the ordinary I am open to hearing about it. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe and check out my other videos.

awesome, thanks for showing all the details, love it! Can't wait to wrap mine :)
Masterfully done. 12/10 video overall.
Beautiful work!!!
Beautiful work
Wow, great job. That's our kids favorite color-"BLUE"! Great to see another video. Hope you had a very Happy Easter Weekend.
Thanks... My favorite color as well. Hope yours was great too!! Thank you for watching and please remember to subscribe and hit the like button.
Absolutely amazing! Great work
Rumpy Doo Doo thank you!!!
Nice work!
wow. very impressive custom cut.
so sick brotha!
The way you did the front bumper with only one cut near the sides of the fog lights is a thing of beauty. I have seen other shops make additional cuts to the ppf for the front bumper.
Thanks!!! Yea... typically done in multiple pcs
This video is just so hardcore...nice work
Nice work man!!!
Thank you!!
This is very cool
Looking great man! We clear bra'd about 30 or more since they came out last spring, always a joy to work on a Tesla Model 3.
Thank you!!! Yes, an amazing car to work on.

Clean install man!!
Thanks brother!!!!!
Sooo very beautiful ❤❤❤
Sir you are an artisan !
This seems to be a lot easier than the other ones where you have to match the holes to the sensors.
satisfying
I've been watching a ton of model 3 PPF videos on youtube. I gotta say that your technique and attention to detail is amazing. This is the best install I've seen anyone do. Looks absolutely amazing and the way you handle the cutting and hiding all the seams is impressive. Any tips for a guy like me who is about to try a DIY install on the front bumper with a precut kit (scotchgard pro)? What slip solution do you use? and tack?
cbutters Tech thank you. Please email me sales@bemarofilms.com
Very good
I would like to get to this level of installation! Great job man

Great video, why wrap instead of pre cut from computer?? Thank you
Love watching you work, can't imagine how long it takes to get this good.

@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms Hi Bemaro, i'm from indonesia, i believed PPF will be booming in here replacing nano couting.. i'm very interested to be able to install ppf properly, can i get a training from the expert :)
best regards
What solution are you using? Trying to do mine and messed up the fender with too much dust and bubbles :(
Really informative video. Thank you for sharing your skills. Can I ask what product did you use for compound polish & to decontaminate the paint before installing ppf? You did a very neat job.

How did you cut around T emblem on hood or did you wrap ppf over T?
Hello, Thank you for posting. At 3:39 minutes into the video there is a closeup of the very bottom portion of the painted car, behind the wheel. The model 3 comes with a tiny, barely visible indent line an inch under where that panel starts. Is the film meant to just span across that tiny gap? My Xpel authorized dealer installed two sheets that meet together there which is visible when looking at the car. He said if he used one sheet there'd be an air bubble which he said would be worse than the visible lines of the film meeting together. Thanks
Hello. Yes you're talking about where the rubberized coating starts? It depends. I have seen some very thick and aggressive rubberized coatings on these cars from the factory. So it really depends on your specific vehicle.
Where can I buy that vynil warp??
What brand of film are you using
what is it upset to stick in corners ?
Were the rocker panels done too? If so, may I ask if the PPF for the rear quarter panel and rockers was done in one piece or two?
2 pcs
Where can u buy ppf the big ones at ?
Where did you buy PPF from ?
Are you wrapping every edge into the body or how much trimming is involved? Noticed minor trimmings.
All edges are at least wrapped to the point where the edge of film is facing away and therefore not visible. Being able to wrap the edges depends on whether or not there is access to seal film. Although vehicles are the same make and model, they vary due to slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process.
So I attempted to clear wrap my bumper but got a lot of air bubbles even though I squeegeed many of them out during wet applying. Air air bubbles inevitable and will they disappear on it own?
That's great to hear. Always great to hear clients install ppf. The answer to air bubbles is a bit complicated. I avoid leaving any behind but I know shops that worry about bubbles later. Water filled bubbles may slowly evaporate depending on the size. Air filled bubbles will not go away on their own. Please reach out via email if you have any other questions. Sales@bemarofilms.com
How do you keep from scratching the paint when cutting? Has to be some.
Just the right amount of pressure. Too hard and youll cut the paint, too soft and you wont cut through the film and be forced to cut again. Takes alottttttttt of practice to get skilled like that. If you dont end up cutting the paint that is.
I never realized how time consuming this process is. Or how precise you have to be, one wrong slip of the blade and the paint is scratched. How much does a full wrap cost for the Model 3? Can the Tesla front license plate bracket that is taped on, still be installed over this wrap?
Please email me for pricing sales@bemarofilms.com
It is very time consuming and the precision that is required is pretty extreme but in reality only amateurs would cut into paint. Once you understand the concept, it's very easy to avoid cutting paint. Front license plate can still be installed as well.
full wrap is about $7000, I'm the manager of this shop
Could you explain how you’re able to apply the PPF to the bumper by yourself? Do you tack on one side then unroll?
Yes. Exactly.
Hi Bemaro, at @, you make a relief cut to be able to cover the paint next to where the air vent begins. Does that flap of PPF cover the entirety of the paint there? Thanks!
Yes it does. With proper technique it will sit there.
@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms Thank you! Any chance you could post a picture of the cut?
@@et465 if I do another vehicle, I will. But to be honest it looks like any other cut along the very edge of the paint. Maybe 1/16 inch gap from all the edges.
@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms You mean there's a 1/16" gap between the PPF and the body line where there's exposed paint??
@@et465 there is 1/16 inch gap on the very edge of the painted surface near vent. I dont end the film right at the edge to avoid lifting.
I took my Model 3 to a shop for a full custom wrap and was told with a 1-piece bumper wrap, it has to be stretched pretty thin, so the front bumper wrap would be mm's thinner then the rest of the car. They suggested I go with a 2-piece instead for maximum protection.
Is this true or do you think they were BSing because they didn't want to do a 1-piece since it was more difficult?
Thanks!
Technically the film does get thinner the more you stretch, but the way this bumper is done, you use the entire film surface to stretch gradually and not just stretch one area. So you're not thinning the material out except by maybe 2%. So if you want to be technical about it, yes technically you're still thinning only out, and pre-cut installs from that perspective might be better. But also know pre-cut pcs have to be stretched on the same way anyways so that it "hugs"the vehicle and reduce chances of it peeling. Email me of you have any other questions, excuse grammar or of it doesnt make sense. I can explain further if you would like through email. Sales@bemarofilms.com
Same question here. How do u do a 1 piece technically in 1:41? Can u share the way how u do that. Thanks
Looks great. Are you using Alco gel or some soap?. Thanx...
Using soap solution
Nice works! How did you tack the edges so quick and easy?
Most of them I let sit then go back to it. Some I use the alcohol tack solution.
@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms thank you for replying, one more question if you dont mind how do you deal with stretch marks(white lines) especially on dark color cars? thank you!
Great Video! ..what type of PPF did you use or recommend for high gloss & clarity?
SunTek PPF Ultra has in my opinion the best clarity and gloss

@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms how long does this PPF last?
Can you just use slip solution or do you need to use tac solution for ppf?
Technically you can use a slip solution only. But to speed up the process you will need a tac solution.
New to ppf here
Was wondering what squeegees do you recommend?
Red barron and 3m wet/dry black squeegee
How did you work around the emblem on the hood?
audan2009 I hand cut the pattern on a table first
Bemaro oh, nice! That must have been hard to get it all lined up. I’m doing mine this weekend and was planning on removing the emblem.
Do you use soapy water? Or what is that? Can it be done under the sun with 35°c?
Soapy water. Definitely recommend doing it in the shade.
@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms thank you, very helpfull
Badass ppf skills I’m decent but not quite on your level lol
Thank you!!! Always look to improve any way you can. That's what I have learned. If something is giving issues or causing headaches, look for a solution. It's been a long time coming.
@Bemaro do you have a website or business listed on Yelp? Looking for a quote for my car
Hello. Sorry for the wait. My website is www.bemarofilms.com
I’ve been installing ppf for about 4 years now and this video just made me want to quit because you make me look like a rookie who has never held a squeegee
Don't quit... keep it going and remember that there is ALWAYS room for improvement.
Dude, I’ll pay for your plane ticket. Come do my model 3!
Let's set it up. Email me sales@bemarofilms.com
Can you give an indication on how much the film alone cost for this type of project and how much you charge?
Ivan Karpenko $5500 for the full vehicle material and installation.
Bemaro OCDetailing quoted me 8k with paint correction for full vehicle. A bit out of my budge. $6-6k is not terrible I’m not sure if I will get full vehicle or just the high impact areas.
Ivan Karpenko ouch. I cant believe people are paying that much. For paint correction we focus on the things that matter such as shown on this video. The light scratches and light swirls that are on these cars will come back the moment the film has to be removed and workers are putting hands in car again. Focus on paint correction for swirl marks in the long run after the film is removed. Just FYI and for everyone else reading this, paint protection films hide swirls and light scratches. It isn't a solution to fix these imperfections but it is to say that you can worry about them after you have made use of your vehicle.
@@BemaroSpecialtyFilms so Ppf generally will hide swirls 🤔
I want to order a roll of ppf. Everywhere I look only precut kits. Can anyone send me a link to xpel roll, enough to cover my Model 3 and then some. Thanks!
You need to contact SunTek or Xpel. It depends on where you are located. I recommend doing a search on Google.

how much is the cost to do a full exterior wrap on a model 3?
Please email sales@bemarofilms.com for pricing
@@inc55 actually prices depend on location, area given to work on vehicle, date of travel, plans for my room + board, whether vehicle needs paint correction and lastly the level of protection inquiring about. Putting prices out publicly is an error businesses make constantly that causes loss. This is because regardless of all the factors that make up a project everyone expects the same price. I dont discuss customer information and I don't expect them to publicly post up the details of the job they're inquiring about.
Bemaro thank you for explaining
