  • Ever wanted to know how to properly wrap a trunk of a sedan in one piece? Paint Protection Film has its own unique challenges when striving for the perfect installation. Here I demonstrate how to wrap a trunk on a Tesla Model 3 with XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF. Techniques used for this trunk wrap can be used for many other sedan trunks out there.
Make sure you have the trunk properly cleaned, and if needed you can disassemble the lights so you can properly wrap the PPF.
The initial stretch and tack is the MOST IMPORTANT. Make sure when you stretch the film, you do so along the sharp body line of the trunk. It allows the film to hug and wrap along the top and bottom of the trunk. Do not over stretch the film as you will create unwanted tension which can lead to a failed installation.

Can we get close up video/pics of this after fully installed? I’ve tried this method previously and always got glue lines. After seeing you stretch and lift multiple times if worries me that there are glue lines post installation that won’t ever come out. I’m not doubting your ability but just really want to know how the end result is.

I’m wondering what temperature his slip solution is.. I find for myself when I do high stretch installs if I get hot water and mix my slip solution, I can lift up multiple times without any adhesive disturbances

Hi. First. Thank you for all the tips and tricks. 2nd- I'm buying Xpel in bulk. Can you tell me how much material I would need to wrap the entire Model 3? How much do you use to do 1 whole Model 3?

Your videos are pretty good with explanations, but I have a question about the use of the word "tension" when mentioning fingers. It seems to me the finger is caused by excess material, which is not tension. Can you please elaborate?

Pretty much like the same way as vinyl wrap but much easier as it doesn’t stick till you squeegee it.
