Here’s a tip.. before putting them in the microwave, wrap your sliders in a damp paper towel instead of dry. That will sort of steam the buns and make them nice and soft.
That won't help, those buns are very dense bread (and that would make them more rubbery), not light and airy like the white castle buns are made.

It's pretty depressing how companies are advertising burgers as "100% Beef!". As if that's something positive. What the fuck were they BEFORE they advertised 100% Beef????

When i went to the department of health to procure my food handlers license the class was informed that legally an item can be called beef with only 70% beef. Filler can be anything from bread to soy to horse. 1% of rat is also allowed as it is impossible for the FDA to unsure 0% when companies produce such large quantities.
If it doesn't say 100% beef it is not all beef.
Companies advertising 100% beef have a legal obligation to make sure its an all beef product. If it just say beef they no legal obligation to give us 100% beef.
Profit is the only thing that matters this greedy corporate capitalist society we live in.

Funny thing is I can buy the frozen White Castle burgers here, but there is not a White Castle restaurant no where around here, but what we do have is Crystals which taste identical to me. I have bought the frozen ones to carry into work a few times. Not great, but not bad either like you said. I nuke them frozen while in the plastic and it steams the crap out of the buns which I kinda like. There are no Food Lions around here either.

What I do to get the best experience with the WC sliders, is thaw them first. That already makes a huge difference. But then I pressure cook the thawed sliders for 3-4 minutes. They come out outstanding. Very close to fresh made.

I'm from St. Louis, so I am PRO White castle! I live i Texas now, so I have to eat frozen White Castles now. But you will never beat the restaurant White Castles, So good. but from microwaving heres what I have learned, 1) YES best if thawed, just takes about a hour in or out of the Frig. 2) Before microwaving separate the 2 burgers from each other, make a space. 3) Always open at one end, helps with the steamy effect. 4) Frozen 30 seconds, the flip over upside down for 30 seconds., Thawed 40 seconds straight. after the microwave turns off, 10 seconds of NOT opening the microwave. TA DA!

I bought some White Castles in the frozen aisle at my Walmart here in Canada which they obviously do not have a brick-and-mortar presence. After the initial bite, I was not that impressed. The positive was how the onions are complementary to the burger's overall taste which imo tasted different from say, caramelized onions or fresh onions like others do to their burger. It must be the dehydrated onions that they use?

I went to a White Castle for the first time when I was in Indianapolis about 10 years ago. I was disappointed to find that it tasted more or less exactly like the frozen ones.

I don't know what they rub the meat down with but Krystals has a good deal of flavor while White Castle has a very generic, plain meat taste to it. Nothing wrong with meat but when it has nothing on it to add flavor it's going to lose out every time to a superior rub/spices.

I work at Food Lion in the frozen and dairy departments, so this was actually really interesting to me lol
We do not have any White Castle restaurants here in Canada (so far as I am aware), but my local Wal-Mart started selling these frozen cheeseburgers about a year ago. They routinely sell-out of stock, so they must be popular despite the lack of brand recognition.
I quite like them, though they really need mustard (and some pickle relish). The price is rather high for the small number of burgers in the box, however.

In my part of Ohio, we have a chain called Hamburger Station. They serve sliders in a more traditional method; fresh grilled, topped with dill pickles, loads of onions and a splash of mustard. Very basic, much better flavor than White Castle, Krystal or most any other slider out there.

HA! I've watched a lot of your videos, but this one was over the top!!! Loved it.
I remember White Castle in NYC back in the 60's and they were very different than they are today. Back in the day they were much flatter and kinda greasy. The buns weren't near as fluffy as they are today. It may be nostalgia but they were much better back then. There are none where I live now but on a recent trip to Michigan to visit my son I discovered there was one down the way a bit. I found the buns too fluffy and the greasy nature completely gone. My local supermarket started selling the frozen kind I can tell you that you should wet the paper towel before wrapping. Micro thawed for a minute, add a bit of your own cheese. Micro for 30 secs more. When they come out squish them a bit, squint your eyes and pretend you are 6 years old again.
The White Castle burgers are almost as good as in the restaurant when they are thawed. White Castle has always been about the journey for me though. It was always a bunch of friends crammed into the car after a night of partying or going to the headshop in NJ to pick up a new bong and then going to munch out on the way back.

I have learnt no matter what is the suggested time in the Microwave do not heat anything that has a bun no longer than 90 seconds. The bread will turn into a rubbery feeling when you try to eat it. That is why White Castle probably suggest you thaw first so the heating time is less. All the frozen stuff with buns at the Dollar Tree taste better at 90 seconds.
