      If driven carefully, I can get 280 miles in winter, and around 300 in summer in my i4. I think that's good for a 2100kg car. The model 3 is around 1850kg. The only thing I look at is the average miles/kWh for the last trip. I did a 100 mile round trip last weekend, with 4 people in the car, and averaged 3.6 miles/kWh. Multiply that by 80kW in the battery, and you get 288 miles. Way better than a Polestar, and not quite as good as a model 3. But pretty good, seeing as the i4 isn't a dedicated EV body. It's designed to take EV, Petrol & Diesel. So, for a compromised car, it's a very good EV indeed.

      Have you driven a Tesla and compared the electronics and for that matter the efficiency of a Tesla? I've owned BMWs for years but the i4 is just a 4 series with an electric low-range rear-wheel drive car. Compare the voice response of a Tesla which is almost instantaneous to BMWs which literally takes seconds for the most basic of commands. $54k will buy you a car that will cost upwards of $75k to get the same functionality. The Tesla is a much faster car, especially thr 0-60 times

    strange electric sounds would get probably more annoying than exhausts that drones, especially on long trips. A $53k BMW is an entry-level car, tack on options that are standard on a Tesla, it's not too hard to get $$47k BMW to over 60 and it's still just a rear-wheel drive cal.

    • @craighermle7727
      @craighermle7727 Год назад

      I disagree totally. If you talking about a 1st gen model 3, I'd agree on the build quality. I have the ICE equivalent of an I4, a 23 430 GC. The BMW is grossly overpriced. There's on comparison at all. the I4s 35 and 40 are rear wheel drive only. Look at BMW's ange estimates .estimates 2 are well under 300 and one brakes 300 at 301. Add to the BMW what comes standard on every Tesla and the "entry-level BMW breaks $60k USD pretty quickly. BMW dual rotor cars only become available with the i4 M50 The dual motor BMW i4 M50 STARTS at $68k USD equipping the M50 with the same "options" that come standard with the Teslas, and the BMW ballons to over $75k. And for $75k USD the range drops to weill under 271. BMW makes simple things complex and its driver interface is a primary example. Why BMW feels compelled to show ridiculous graphics nstead of investing in, oh, I don't know, lets start with a responsive voice command system , is beyond me. I take that back; the computer game graphics don't require much tech investment. The BMW voice interface is painfully slow.. I just drove a Tesla Y for well over 300 miles and there is no comparison. when you compare price points. Tesla is vastly superior. technologically. BTW, I know a BMW salesman that has an i4 35 and if you drive it like a car, the range estimates are way overstated. IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, DRIVE THE I4 AT NIGHT AND TURN DOWN A POORLY LIT STREET. BMW HAS ELIMINATED CORORING HEADLIGHTS. I SHOULDN'T SAY THAT; IT'S NOW A $1,000 OPTION. YOU'LL PROBABLY WANT THE 'OPTON. don't forget to add the BMW dash recorder option either

As a sedan/hatchback it is the perfect mix between form and function. The Tesla software is still a step ahead. I wish it had front storage and better software integration. BMW is still stuck in the past.
