      Here in Kolding (6000) we have a castle named Koldinghus , with a dungeon😳 they sometimes change exhibitions, which you can also see.
      there is a nice restaurant too, but I think it is a bit expensive to eat there🙈
      there is also a nice little souvenir shop🥰

    Nice to see your take on this place. I grew up in Hornslet 2 miles from Rosenholm. One of my school mates lived in the old gardener’s house by the castle. The old gardens, the areas around the moat, the forest and all the other places were our playgrounds. Sometimes we fished for carp in the moat and really caught some monsters with pre-chewed franskbrød as bait. I particularly remember the 600 (or so) years old baroness Carin Rosenkrantz who chased us around telling us all the things not to do. Back then we had matches, pocket knives, chestnuts, bent nails and all sorts of other stuff in our pockets. This was the 80’s. Imagine kids having this today! 😮

    Yes. The DR Christmas calendar of 1986, Jul På Slottet was indeed filmed there in 1985 and it was one of the most expensive Christmas calendar productions ever made by DR. It was a classic fairy-tale story with some memorable songs for us who grew up with the Christmas calendars. Some of the costumes can actually be seen this Christmas 2022 at Frederiksborg Slot at a special exhibition with clothes, dolls and props from various DR Christmas calendars.

    Dragsholm Slot is another danish castle famous for its white lady. I think thats also related to a story about a woman found in a wall where her father locked her up because she had an affair with the stablehand.

    To my knowledge, King Christian 4th made a visit to England and the English Court, and this may be why playwright, William Shakespeare was asked or thought about, to write a play from a Danish Legend: Amled. I doubt that Christian would have understood much or recognized it as such? 🙄

    • @kasperkjrsgaard1447
      @kasperkjrsgaard1447 Год назад

      The story about Hamlet is most likely connected to Saxo Grammaticus’ book Gesta Danorum where the story about Prince Amleth is written. It was written and published before Shakespeare began writing his novels.

      Have you heard yet that the Danes jokingly refer to the coming tunnel under the Baltic Sea to Germany as "Der Untergang" = "The Underpath" / "The Downfall" ( = D undergang, both meanings ) - a pun on the title of the famous German movie "Der Untergang" about Adolf Hitler's last days in his bunker in Berlin in 1945.
