I'm rolling at how different their thought processes are HAHSHSHHSH like if there's a scenario like for example *they saw a hotdog in the table*
Peniel would be like: oh a hotdog
Ashley: oh a hotdog, do you guys want it? *few hours later* hmm I should have not asked them if they wanted the hotdog, no one knows where it's from, we aren't even supposed to eat at that time, i should've not asked them next time when we see a random hotdog in a table I'll ask diane if it's okay to talk about it
Harry: oh a hotdog, why is it there? Is it left there on purpose, is this a challenge, should we get it, should we eat it or leave it alone? Is it even a true hotdog? Why is it called hotdog? Who gave the idea of an hotdog? What if the hotdog your thinking about is different from the hotdog I had in mind? *insert hotdog existential crisis*

The guys and girls being just friends discussion reminds me of something I've read before that
For men, their idea of friendship came from their friendships with other men which is= hang-out activities, general convo, rarely involves involving emotional support with each other since our society it's not typical for men to be emotional, showing emotions is vulnerability and a sign of weakness(which is a very problematic thinking btw). On the other hand, they see romantic female partners as = someone they can share emotional needs, be vulnerable etc.
For women, in both friendships and romantic relationships they share feelings and emotions. Unlike for men, women are not socialized to fear being emotional, women's friendship with another women = heavily based on emotional support so that's how they form the idea of friendship, regardless of gender
So when Ashley said they could be friends but not best friends in which you really share your vulnerabilities with, I kinda understood why she thought that way bec it would be pretty challenging for some people, esp men to differentiate friendship and partner if they're very close bec it would be a dissociation from their notion of friendships and are more closely related to partners characteristic
So yea the inclination of thinking that men and women can't be friends is a product of socialized concepts of friendships that is heavily shaped by patriarchial society which is for another discussion avzhsvsh .

Omg I’m so glad I found that comment! I’ve never thought of it this way and it makes so much sense now. I’ve always been wondering how some of my girl-friends have so many guy-friends and now I understand that these girls are not so emotional and feeling as I am. They don’t tend to talk about their emotions and feelings is what I meant (sorry English is not my mother tongue). In contradiction, what I am looking for in friendships and any relationship in general is, firstly, emotional bond so it’s been hard for me to make close friendships with guys lol.

If someone mentions tree, by default we are not all thinking about the exact same tree. One might think of palm trees, another migjt imagine a lemon tree and someone else might think of a cartoon drawing of a tree.

why do I relate to harry sm😭 everytime he tries to explain something, there's always that someone (or more) who's confused and doesn't get what I'm trying to convey. I thought it was a language barrier given that my friends and I don't have the same mother tongue. but this whole episode proved me wrong. it's ok harry, I get it, I know what you're trying to say, I understand you 100%😭✊

This episode was very similar to the old format and i really really enjoyed going back to their random insights and perspectives of just plain daily life! It was always fun to listen to BM leading these what if conversations and in this trio Harry has that role.
So glad that Diane could join the conversation and when all of them agreed they wouldn't hit reset..yessss super relatable 🤣

I fucking love Harry's mind, lol. Also, the question about if humans only recognize their names as sounds like dogs. I mean language is just a bunch of sounds but the difference between dogs and humans is we assign different/deeper meanings to those sounds.

My story/input related to the 1st submission:
1. My sister and I were in Mexico visiting family. Before going to our family’s town, we stayed in the city were the airport is just to sight see. At some point, my sister noticed a guy who caught her eye. He was working in a produce shop we passed. I agree that he was a stunningly beautiful human being. He was almost like glowing. Idk how to explain it, but my sister and I were in AWE. Like he looked like he would be an actor. We continued waking around & we kept seeing him everywhere. We went to eat at a restaurant & he was also there working! After we ate, we continued touring around. We crossed paths again, but this time he noticed us and made eye contact with my sister and smiled. We saw him up close this time. His smile and eye felt so familiar. A week later, we had already been at our family’s town. There was a holiday festival happening one town over. Mind you, Our home town and the neighboring towns are small ones. Not touristic places at all. While at the festival, we saw the same guy! My sister and I were like “what are the chances?!”. It was crowded, but we kept seeing him. I don’t think he ever saw us though Bc when we saw him it was from a distance.
After we came back home to the states, I was looking through all of our photos and videos from the trip. The guy is in every video and a lot of the photos we took while in the city where we first saw him. In footage taken even from moments before his beauty hypnotized us LOL
We’ve been to Mexico again since, but not to the city. We go straight to our family’s town. I want to go back to the city some day just to see if we could see him again. It looked like he had to be a local since he worked like at every shop and restaurant LOL
My sister regrets not having said anything to him. She says he could have been her soulmate 🙄😂😂😂
But I have always think about people I’ve met who I had a connection with but never saw them again.

the quiet microwave feature exists! on my microwave, you have to hold the "8" button for like 3 seconds and then it turns off the beeps. Very useful feature hahaha
LOL Harry, dogs 'understand' their owner's tone of voice. This is why you can use words that scold them if they did something wrong but if your tone is affectionate, they think you're praising them. Ashley, color blind people memorize the placement of traffic lights ( i know someone who's color blind who does this so he can drive).
