I appreciate that you tell us what you are checking in the cockpit, and also in the environment around the aeroplane. I now know that if I wanted to have a look at a Jabiru in the flesh I could do it at Latrobe Valley aero club. A very enjoyable flight; thank you for taking us along with you.

      I have owned a Jabiru J-120 C for the last 3 1/2 years.
      Don't believe the bullshit.
      They are a great aircraft.
      Do the factory maintenance course.
The factory is really helpful, always available to answer questions and give advise.
I am a very happy owner.

@@charlesbrewer6552 what are the jabiru engines like now

    • @charlesbrewer6552

@@spannaspinna Mine has been just fine.
Mine is a late "Gen 2" engine from 2013.
It was made just after the problems with through bolts. It has hydraulic lifters with "flat" followers.
The "problems" were adressed with my generation motor.
The through bolts were enlarged and the profile changed. It has been a trouble free reliable motor.
Of course Jabiru have since supplied gen 3 (roller lifters) and Gen 4 motors.
The through bolt problems apparently were caused by "harmonics" after changing to hydaulic lifters in the early Gen 2 engines. I expect most of these engines have been up-graded to the new specs by now.
I did the Jabiru factory maintenece course (5 days) and found it to be excellent.
During that course we stripped a full time (2000 hour) trade in motor and measured it up.
All measurements were within original specifications. Crankshaft, bore/piston, valve guides, ect.
      Very impressive.
I have found the Jabiru factory very helpful when I have had questions and they have provided very helful advise when needed.
As a new "maintainer" sometimes you come across questions outside your experience.
Help has been just a phone call away.
      Excellent service.
I am building a Zenith 750 STOL and will have no hesitation in putting in a Jabiru motor.
