I'm a Man Utd supporter but one who loved and admired Forest in the late 70's. I went to the 1980 European Cup Final in Madrid to cheer them on to victory against Hamburg. Larry Lloyd will always be one of the immortals of that superb team then.
Well said I think every football fan loved Nottingham Forest in that era Football as it should be
@@redhillred1980 Thanks for that comment, much appreciated. Forest were great then, hope they don't get relegated this season?.
@@exactsame Totally agree with you, thanks.

Hi Thomas, I'm Man United supporter too from Indonesia. Yes, at the end football is beautiful game with great players and one of them is Larry Lloyd. It's not only Nottingham Forest who lost him but every football lovers. May he rest in peace and his legacy will be beautiful memories to all football lovers around the world...
Burns and Lloyd were the best center backs in Europe at the time. Watching them compliment one another on the pitch, you just knew nothing would get past them. RIP Larry.
Larry and Kenny Burns, what a great defensive pair. RIP big guy
RIP He was a big champion for Nottingham Forest.

Rest in peace big man.
Always a miracle man.
👌
R.I.P LARRY YOU PLAYED FOR 2 OF THE BEST TEAMS LIVERPOOL AND NOTTINGHAM FOREST
My favourite player. He signed initially on loan from Coventry City. Then permanently. Larry and Kenny Burns were a fiersome centre back partnership.
Enjoyed watching him at Liverpool, another legend.
RIP Larry. Will always be a big part of Nottm Forest history and loved by the fans.
Any player signed by both Shankly and Clough must have been able to play. A great, tough player and a nice man. Thanks for the memories big man.

I saw Larry play many times for Bristol Rovers where he was a standout defender that was a huge loss when he left them .
RIP Larry ❤️
Shilton, Anderson, Burns, Lloyd, Clark. Fantastic defence that was the foundation of our success during that all too brief era.
Great memories, Rip. Larry love to your family, Legend
RIP Larry Lloyd Legend ✊
Rip Laurence Valentine Lloyd, you will be missed
Not many players leave Liverpool and achieve what Larry Lloyd did , a Great at Liverpool but an absolute Legend at Forest , RIP ynwa
Its always sad to see people leave us, so my thoughts are with his family and friends. As I am from Liverpool, he did a very good job for them and for Notts Forest.
Nottingham... never Notts
@@redhillred1980 Let me Educate You ... Your club IS NOT in the city boundaries of The City of Nottingham, "hence Forest" ... forests are outside Cities. The word "Notts" is a shortening of the City of Nottingham and the County of Nottinghamshire ... Your Club is in The County of Nottinghamshire. The only and original club to represent The City of Nottingham is "Notts County F.C." One last point ... your ground is called "The City Ground" Yet it is NOT in The City of Nottingham ? What a Contradiction!.
@@merseydave1 thanks for that... now listen and if needed write this down. Originally we played at the recreation ground in the city. The name forest comes from playing at the forest racecourse, nothing to do with trees, and lastly we are Nottingham Forest not Notts Forest... now repeat that back to me so I know you understand?
@@redhillred1980 The Reality is, you are on the "Other Side of The River Trent Outside of The City of Nottingham in Nottinghamshire = Notts ... FACT!.
Notts County F.C. are in The City of Nottingham (notts forest are NOT) as I explained in my first response to you, the term "Notts" refers to The City of Nottingham and The County of Nottinghamshire ... many football supporters refer to your club as Notts Forest So Get Over It !.
RIP what a fantastic career and life
Very very few players can claim to have a Champions of England medal with One club - Larry had 2 with different clubs ! He also had a Champions of Europe medal - 2 of those.....and 2 League Cup WInner's medals ! A great Central Defender whom no-one enjoyed playing against. A true legend for Forest for sure. RIP Larry
I remember seeing him in the local supermarket and asked him for his autograph, 3 times, so my mates could have one each, he dust obliged.
Not mentioned..
Wigan Athletic player,manager..won
Division 4-Now league 2..great legion ed..
RIP.

Larry Lloyd is such a great name as well.Sounds like the name of the kind of fella you could trust.
RIP
A Great Footballer 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
54 yr old Villa Fan, condolences to the Forest family like most of my age have plenty of admiration for that great Forest Team and the Achievements of Clough and please don`t forget Peter Taylor, i think he is sometimes the forgotten man. When God gave out Charisma i think Clough & Taylor were near the front of the queue😂. There Interviews were must see TV. My Dad would wake me up to watch Match of the Day which would often feature that Great Forest team. Rest in Peace Larry Lloyd. And RIP another player recently departed. who would have played with Lloyd, Stan Bowles. To this day i don`t think a transfer has intrigued me as Stan Bowles transfer from QPR to Forest.
Rip larry ynwa😢
