Hi! I love your videos! I don’t do sulfur or hot water treatment… I just do dilute ethanol with horticultural soap. So easy. Just spray everything once a week for a few weeks, in my experience it’s extremely effective. The alcohol evaporates but the residue easily washes away.
@@planttherapy1860 for mine, I dilute it with water according to the instructions on the label. Different sized plant will need different concentration😊
Last year I had flat mites, mealybugs, and root mealybugs on my hoyas. I did not play around and killed them with pesticides. I got rid of all of them. But this year I had another issue: Powdery mildew, which I brought into my house with a begonia tripartita. Yes, Powdery mildew can infect hoyas! It will not kill the plant, but the younger leaves will become ugly and fall off.
@Michael Zorn its funny because I just cleaned up a hoya that had a weird coating of white stuff on it. Just to be safe I'll spray it. Thanks for the tips 😀
I had problems with my hoys at one shelf where they tried to push new growth and it always died. Only big ugly stumps got left on them. I think I have/had flat mites from what is going on now online. I also follow MissOrchidGirl and she had parafin oil based solution for treating her orchids for red mites so I got thinking.. that might work. I sprayed my hoys with that oil based solution (focused on the growth points) AND it worked! All of them are now pushing new growth and it seems they aren't going to die. I think neem oil could or does work in similar way?
Thank you for the tips!! That’s right!! Paraffin oil is the ingredient I have in the mealy bugs solution. It works for me😀 Neem oil doesn’t work when the infestation has grown. It’s good for prevention, but not strong enough to reduce the infestation in my experience.

Thank you for sharing your tips, Damaris!😀 could you share the water/ ethanol / horticultural soap ratio? Would love to try!
Great video as allways! It's great to learn from people who actually grow home plants 💚
Thank you, Rodrigo!🌱🙋🏻♀️
Very helpful! Thank you
You're welcome! 🌱💚
Thank you for answering my question, Fonnie! Great video as always 💓😊
Thank you for your question, Abbie 🤗
Awesome video! Thanks for all the info ☺️
Glad you liked it, Valeria🌸🌱
Hi Fonnie! Thanks for answering my question! Loved the video! ❤❤
Thank you for writing the questions to me on IG, Matt!🤗🌸
Sulfur treatment is a) easy and b) such a game changer fkr the non growing Hoya
Got mine on Amazon but is super annoying to get off leaves
I wonder how difficult it is to remove the residue 🤔 can you just shower it off? Or you actually need to physically rub it off?😲
Fantastic video as usual. Thank you so much fonnie 😊
Thank you, Menina🌸🌱
Hi great video! Do you do a dry period for your plants? If so how long?
I don’t do dry period:) prefer to keep my plants in lechuza pon with constant moist substrate (given that I provided sufficient light and warmth) 😊
Thanks for the video! I have a question about your oil solution for mealy bugs. What exactly do you use?
It’s Paraffin oil 😀
@@tfyfonnie just straight paraffin?

So what do you do for that?
@@planttherapy1860 I separated the begonias and sprayed all my plants with fungicide.
Oh no…!! I never had powdery mildew, but good to know that Fungicide works😀 thank you for the tips, Michael!

@@Osminoqtos thanks for the tips
Do you always water from the top or do you just fill up the reservoar with some hoyas?
Hi Lisa, I always water from the top 😊
