  • This is how to remove a master cylinder without removing the Brake Booster. If you have no pressure when you press the brake, chances are it's the master cylinder. Take your time and be patient. Unplug the battery to be safe, and don't get brake fluid on your hands or the paint. Flushing the air from the system can be done easily without VCDS (Vag-COM) with the standard procedure. If there are any questions just ask! Cheers!

The very crucial part of the video that is the replacement was not shown. Loosening nuts and bolts are easy.

Hey buddy. R u sure that metal valve thing under the brake Reservoir tank is the clutch master cylinder? I was told its at the firewall above the clutch pedal is the clutch master cylinder. My clutch pressure is gone too. The biting point feels like its moved beyond the firewall... i only get a tiny bit of clutch pedal pressure travel wen im like an inch away from the firewall

Great video! Quick question: your saying I don’t need the Vag-Com? I broke the tab on my reservoir and now getting it replaced. So got some advice on how I can do it without having the computer ? Thanks !

supposedly you can force bleed air in the ABS pump if you trigger ABS while driving at least 3 times if that is what you are asking. make sure to do this on a gravel or dirt road with no one around and be safe, snow would be even better as its more slick than gravel or dirt but unless you live way north or south that is seasonal or may never even happen where you live. Make sure your reservoir is topped off, bleed all the air you can the normal way, get at least 3 good activations of ABS, do a full system bleed again. Never tried this personally but that is what I found on the forums, just got an a4 from a buddy that has a completely failed rear right caliper and leaks fluid like a sieve sprayed out almost a whole bottle of cheap dot 4 while trying to top off the master. Had to drive that one home quick before I lost all brakes hope it isnt the line.

I cannot get the new MC back in. I have the bolts loose from the booster but cannot tilt it enough to get the new one in.

you need to disconnect the brake pedal from the booster, believe me I tried...once you do you can angle the booster enough to properly tilt booster and install the MC...Now how do you get the damn reservoir back on????
