I will be getting a klx300 for 2025 for sure but I do wonder about the bars. I am think of having the dealer put new ones for me. I am 5'11. What do you think ? BTW it should not be too hard to do something to get rid of that white on the side covers. Just a thought.
The bars were my favorite upgrade. They make the bike feel way better. I have another video talking about all the upgrades I did to the bike. You’re right about the white plastic piece I just didn’t have much of an imagination.
whats up being an old bike freak ive had a few off road bikes 1984 cr 250 , 1983 dr 400 , 70 ; and a 90 cc honda trail bike. whats important here is the fun factor . Try forgetting the lack of power and focus on the fun and things you can do with it. I just got rid of a 2014 gs1200 after owning it for8 years on account of i was fed up of wrestling with it in the woods all the while i wanted a smaller off road bike. Im anxious to get the bike and the dealer doesn't even know when it will arrive the majority of my friends think im stupid to buy another bike but im not having any fun on a fu....goldwing. Ride on dude keep the videos coming
Thanks for watching! Yeah I agree this bike has the highest fun factor because you can do so much with it and ride it “fast” but also it’s cheap so there’s peace of mind that you are not destroying a $12k euro dual sport.
I just got a 23'. The main complaint I have is sometimes it doesn't want to go into 1st. It seems to be getting better though. Its just past 100 miles. I've been riding for 25 years so maybe I'm being too critical.
Mine does that on occasion. I just let the clutch out a bit until it bites then pull it back in and it clicks into first just fine after that. I think the transmission just needs to be bumped a bit for it to pop into first easily sometimes.
@@chicochico1604 I’ve found out that I wasn’t really pulling the clutch in all the way (like to where it touches the handlebar). This is fine for normal shifting but try to pull the clutch alllll the way in when kicking into first. It worked for me.
I'm at 595 miles, it seems to be doing better now. Kind of annoying but love it anyway! Like a few of you stated, I let the clutch out a little and it goes right in. Just the nature of the beast.
@@outlandersystems552 honestly it’s doable when you see in person. There’s just no run up and too many logs scattered. It would definitely end badly in this instance.
Are u running OEM sprocket ratio yet?? Best bang for $ is sprocket, the 13t front is the easiest and doesnt require different chain. However, my 250 really responded well to an aluminum rear and MX chain. Together it shaved 2lbs off the crank, got back some hp lost to rear wheel. Gearing it down a bit allows the bike to hit all of 6th gear also around 80mph, you dont go that speed often on these anyway plus 1st is a woods crawler. Im torn on picking up another 250 cheap cuz I modded my prior one to the hilt, I know what worked the best and what was a waist of money. But it needed a loud pipe and tuner to get to OEM 300 power. I like the thought of getting the 300 and keeping it quiet for all the places I ride...where I shouldnt. Nobody gets upset when they dont know u are there, and ripping around town full throttle doesnt get u in trouble either. Also, I rolled my bars forward on mine, it raised them and kinda got rid of that dumb bend. Also added 1" risers, Im 6'1 though. Great vids, BTW. Im considering ditching my single track only KDX for the dual sport 300 so I can actually explore again. And yeah, KC Outsides Green 300 is the best looking one I seen.
Sprockets would be a good/easy upgrade. I still commute on mine and go 75-80mph on occasion but that might change eventually and if it does a 13T front and larger rear would probably be my first upgrade.
I always like white on a bike! I think it contrasts well with the other main color, whether that’s green or red. I have a Honda CRF 300. I always think the KLX looks at least as good as it!
I can agree with you on having some white for contrast. I would just like a little less. And I disagree with you on the comparison- your crf looks much cleaner. But everyone’s opinion is different which is why we have so many great bikes out there! Thanks for watching.
I don't really like the looks of the CRF or the KLX, hah. But I think the KLX is still much less ugly than my first dual sport, the DR650. Handlebars is one of the last remaining mods I plan to do for sure. Don't like the stock footpegs, either.
Well I definitely agree with you that they both look better than a DR650. For some reason the stock foot pegs haven’t bothered me that much even though everyone hates them. I’m a lighter rider though and maybe with stiff boots I don’t notice them as much.

Rim locks & drop your tire pressure.
Yeah I did end up doing that in some later videos. Along with knobbier tires.

Mine 150 miles and just started to have same issue.
I have a 23 as well that also doesn’t seem to like going back into 1st. That must be a thing with the bike.

Me @5:07 "JUMP THAT SHIT!"
It came across my mind. Maybe now with more experience and better tires…

Pre-jump over bump/log or wheelie into it…
😂 I laid mine down and the bars bent right out the gate. Couldn’t wait to get back on tho
When I replaced my bars I could tell that it was very slightly bent. They are not good but luckily the aftermarket options are cheap.
You can upgrade the ecu and gearing and that may help with the engine issue.

Thank you for noticing lol. I think most people are like wtf is this guy doing?
@@atlklx5168 after seeing that, I’m going to need some more meme edits in the future. Thank you 😆
You gotta get up to Pine Log WMA, bro.
I didn’t know that was legal for dirt bikes?

I'm actually fond of the old school looks of the Dr.
Should have brought a 12000.00 dollar bike maybe it would be more to your liking lol 😂
