My views on Jade's solo is ... anxiety. I don't say that in a negative way. Its more of an anticipation. I haven't heard any snippets or talk about it and I just want at least a preview of a song, even if its not a debut single. Jade has so much to offer, and from what we got from that last tour, her voice is getting rich and deep, but also sweet and that goes so well with her stage presence. My prediction for her solo music is like a mix of Tinashe and maybe Diana Ross and Bruno Mars because of her love for Motown and funky, urban pop with bits of R&B.

My views on Jesy's solo is... bittersweet. I knew of Jesy's struggles and sympathized, even now. I agree with you that she should've had that break right after she left and not released music, especially a song like Boyz. It left a bitter taste in my mouth, especially as a black girl. And that live with Nicki was iffy. On one hand, she should've changed the subject when it got to Nicki's rant, but on the other, I understand how hard it is to disagree with a person in power. Nicki is an A-lister, with tons of power and longevity in the industry. Jesy probably didn't want to start off her career on a bad foot with her. Nonetheless, Jesy should've taken a 2 year break after she left, spend time with family, friends, and intense therapy. Bad Thing was the most Jesy. That should've been her debut and I do wish she continues in that direction as well as show all sides of her voice with new and healthier technique. I wish her the best.

Please keep in mind that debuting with Boyz probably was not entirely her choice. She probably submitted multiple ideas to Polydor and they (including black consultants in the teams) chose and greenlighted Boyz conditionally and adding Nicki furthered it bureaucratically. And you are correct about Nicki but also Nick held leverage on post production and finances; Jesy can’t carelessly jump in without affecting those dancers and actors in the video.

My views of Perrie's solo is... refreshing. While her debut single isn't my favorite, her vocals was stunning and its growing on me. I can't wait to hear more of her voice, not just the belting, but her head voice and low register and of course her tone. I'm impatiently waiting for her ballads. I don't have much to say, but I am following it.

I love Little Mix as a whole, favorite album was LM5 but all of their albums have my heart. Their growth, vocally and sonically was amazing. I became a mixer later, so them going solo wasn't heartbreaking but it was bittersweet because I became an official mixer around 2020 and I wish got more of them and I stan with the fact that they should've been 1D famous and successful, particularly in the US (I really wished I could've gone to their concert, even if it was the final one!)

I hate the comparison between Perrie and Leigh Anne as well. I understand it because we want them to succeed and we see them as our top favorites, so when others have different views, particularly on how they're not their favorites or as successful, we get defensive and give our opinions on why they're not. We don't know every single reason why they're not liked or received well. I will say that race and colorism does come into it because of the world we live in. Perrie will have it easier because she's white and fits the beauty standard which is mostly Eurocentric, then there's her background as the most popular member of Little Mix, but that came from being the best vocalist, which she deserves. I don't think she will have a Beyonce success, but more so a mix of Adele and Kelly and as she gets older, Celine. Her power is her voice. Leigh Anne will have it easy, particularly in the US because she's a light skinned, mixed black woman and her preference for R&B and Afrobeats pretty much dominates the US sound market. Leigh Anne is also versatile, and if she takes on Ariana's route mixing Pop, R&B, and Trap, she could have that type of successful as well. And when she gets older, she could pull a Rihanna with her love of fashion and experience in it's business.

I definitely agree that Forget About Us seems to follow Shoutout to my Ex although aspects of the music video (like the in the villa scenes) don’t seem to follow it.

Yeah. I think a good example of a girl group Matthew effect might be the Pussycat Dolls. Nicole dominated in an out of the group. (Although she faltered in a number of places too.) Jessica released some music be did not get too far. The rest of them, not so much with large successes.
