my Mexican wife does the same. it is adorable!
she did get frustrated sometimes in our earlier years when she had a hard time telling me something and she would throw things at me. but over the years i have picked up some Spanish so we communicate in our own language now. and all is well.

It's OK to not speak English perfectly because your songs make me want to learn Spanish!

But she can speak very well. ✨

But it's the end of the world if someone that does not speak her language mispronounces her name? Everyone should get over themselves. She sounds like a lovely person and we should let it go at that.

Nobody is perfect, you have to admire their effort to speak a language that is not theirs, it is easy for you to say that it is not perfect when your mother tongue is English, I already want to see you learning Spanish and see the infinity of conjugations that There are all the synonyms for one thing, the grammatical rules and without saying that in each Latin American country there are many variants of Spanish.

I grew up listening to Simon Diaz!... I feel in the same way, now I enjoy listening to more Spanish music than English music, it make me feel connected with my Latin American heritage.

She's an amazing singer / songwriter, and her English is plenty good enough for this interview. I don't envy her at all - one of the biggest lessons I learned from my Spanish classes was the realization of how horrible a language English is to attempt to learn as an adult.
