Darker print is more natural.I do not know how old you are but there were 12 to 13 lb Grey Trout that were prevalent in the Bay.They would school up. It is good to see them making a comeback. In 5 or 10 years we may see schools of big Grey Trout again.
Thanks for watching, I’m 24 and spent most of my life fishing further up the bay on the Choptank River. We would occasionally get the small ones jigging for striper but I’d love to see those big ones make a comeback!
Thank you, we’re lucky to have such good fishing around this area. Still trying to figure out the pattern for those keeper sized flounder. Maybe I’ll run into you one of these days out here 🤙🏼
Thank you for subscribing! I would definitely make a trip out there. I suspect the flounder fishing will only get better over the next few months as well as having some decent rock fish by catches while jigging🤙🏼
Dark print looks great! New sub here, I was planning to camp at Kiptopeke last weekend and fish but the weather had me cancel. Awesome video and PB red! 🎣💪🔥
@@1stTide oh man if you want to reserve a spot for summer you want to do it months in advance. Spots fill out quick, a single tent only lot with 2 cars was $30 per night which isn’t bad at all
Thanks for tuning in! I got the fish bag from amazon, its by buffalo. They have a few different lengths to choose from. It has held up well over the years BUT after I got back from that trip the zipper came off the track... not covered by a warranty and I cannot get that thing back on. Just fyi👍🏽
Oh cool, Ive always wanted to fish up there for some big blues and striper! I have heard a few people refer to them as that down here too. Thank you for the support🤙🏼
Yeah we also call them weakfish down here in Maryland. In early 2000's I caught one in the mouth of the patuxent river that was 30 inches and right at 12 lbs.
@@bretshivers8352 If you search “yakgear fish stick” on Amazon it will come up. It measures up to 36” and it’s very durable. Having the big base to bump against and the counter of the board/width helps a ton getting a good measurement/ picture. Thanks for watching!
I use a similar setup Battle 2 4000 30 lb braid 30 lb leader I noticed with the leader my braid knots up when casting when I took off the leader it stopped
Kiptopeake is bad ass caught 75 flounder there yrs ago ran out of tags tagged so many most were all small tho lol still fun as heck tho certian times of the yr fishing gets crazy good there 4 sure & they catch nice tog there right up against the concrete ships we've caught grouper there too all small tho 9-12" bout every species of fish come through there an a lot we're caught on the pier
That is pretty cool! I’ve been wanting to get into tagging fish but I don’t know what programs I can apply to? I have heard of guides occasionally catching decent gag grouper out in the bay even catching small ones up here is amazing.
Thanks for the input! Kiptopeke was a blast. I was thinking darker print too. I agree I need to stop adjusting my drag so much lol. I’m gonna be going out to the CBBT soon for some sheepshead, I plan on leaving it pretty tight around the pilings. Thanks for watching👍🏼
Those battle 3's are okay for bait fishing but I think they are absolutely terrible for lure fishing. It's hard to explain but when cranking the handle even with an empty spool it takes way more effort than it should and due to that when lure fishing you just feel disconnected from your lure. Imo there are alot better reels in/around that price point for light tackle fishing. The diawa bg is just one example.
I do agree. I believe the penn internals are more durable/corrosion resistant but those diawas are way smoother in general. I have a bg mq 2500 on my light rod and it’s far superior. My wife’s got the bg 3000 and she absolutely loves it
@@1stTide thanks, really liked your video. seriously was that over a week ago I’m in the Buckroe area use to go out there years ago haven’t been there in a while. thanks for the name of the stuff you were using
I'm not thrilled with the length of time that you are holdiing the fish out of the water..full well knowing that you're going to return them to te water..don't use the fish as props for your videos..thank you!
Thank you for watching and I do agree. I try to be as quick as possible. Catch, quick appreciation of the fish and release. I definitely need to be mindful of how long I have them out in the future!
Love the darker print. ❤️ We are happy to find videos of our local waters. Great job! Thank you!
Thank you all for watching! We’re so lucky to be able to get out and enjoy this amazing area🤙🏼
Thank god you know how to tie good knots!!! Super excited to see this channel grow.
@@nicklapp4620 thanks brutha! & yessir Uni to Uni for leader to main line and improved clinch or no slip loop for leader to jig 🤙🏼

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it!
best fishing channel around

where did you get your board? how long a fish can you measure? i love how it folds up

I use a similar setup
Battle 2 4000
30 lb braid
30 lb leader
I noticed with the leader my braid knots up when casting when I took off the leader it stopped
Interesting... I have been getting more wind knots than normal lately. the spools look pretty even maybe thats the cause?
@@1stTide I broke off so I decided to leave the leaded off and my problem stopped

I think you need to try switching up colors here and there
Possibly, what colors do you recommend for flounder?
I always tend to catch the bigger flounder on a darker color for some reason, you should give it a try
I prefer the darker print. Nice video, love Kiptopeake. You seem to fuss with your drag an awful lot, and it almost cost you that big Red.

what pro cure do u use?
I like the shrimp, mullet, & inshore in my opinion I think just about any of the flavors would do the job👍🏼

Fishing date soon 😍😍
Of course
What kind of lub are you using 😂🙂
Pro cure inshore 👍🏼
