Great review. Love my SX4. Bought mine when they first came out I believe in fall 2017. Didn’t even get the chance to shoot it as it wasn’t available in Washington state (ordered from gun dealer in Michigan) and we were headed to North Dakota for a week of upland hunting. Went from a Beretta Urika AL391. This has a much lighter feel. Love the ergonomics and right out of the box this was an awesome gun. Partners loved it as well. Enough so that when the 20 gauge version came out he bought a nice camo version. To date I’ve shot several thousand rounds at the trap/skeet fields and hunting. I did note an issue shooting Remington Clay and Field. Almost every box had at least one shell that the brass was torn from the hull while ejecting. Contacted Remington and once that case was gone I switched to Federals. No issues since so I assume it was related to the fast ejection or shell quality. This shotgun has made my hunting so much better. While I liked my beretta I came to truly dislike the safety button at the front of the trigger guard. Maybe it’s ok in the duck blind but when your hunting behind flushers you need to be quick off the safety and to the trigger. The trigger guard on the Beretta wasn’t sufficiently large enough to get a gloved hand into it safely. Spring is here and now I’m looking at adding a 20 gauge SX4 to my hunt. I like my older Remington 1100 mag but after shooting my buddies SX4 they are so similar in both gauges that I just feel I gotta have one. Thanks for all the tips.

Was at Reed's in Minnesota last week. Was there playing golf and drove through the town and noticed it so I had to stop in and check out the Store. What a great place and the people there were fantastic. I purchased a Remington 870 Express Trap from them prior to Remington going out of Business. I have 3 Super-X shotguns, the Model 1 in Skeet, the Model 2 in Synthetic for Waterfowl and the Model 3 in Slug gun, all are fantastic, next is the Model 4 in 20 ga.. Oh. good video..
I'm a big sage grouse & chucker hunter & I've been using my same browning shotgun my dad got me in the 90s, I've been looking for a new shotgun & the Remington I was looking into was like $1900 I think this one takes the cake.
Rumor has it the SX4 has the speed load function that the Browning Maxus 2 has (and Silver used to have until they took it away). Really love that feature. Does this gun have that? Where you load a shell underneath and it chambers by itself.
Steve! Man I appreciate the video, after watching many of your videos I decided on the SX4 Upland! Such an awesome gun. One question I have for you is with this gun I have no points for attaching a sling. Just seeing if you had any advice on what I can do. Thanks!

I recently purchased an sx4 and I was wondering if there was a particular steel shot that you found patterned the best? And maybe a choke recommendation?
Have you ever heard of a shotgun manufacture that’s based out of Alberta Canada, but they get them made in turkey called Revolution Armoury? I picked up the Swift in 12 gauge last year and I’m loving it! they are super affordable and well-made, you should probably check them out!

Hey bro, I was watching when you mentioned if we wanted a full tutorial on how to clean the shotgun im definitely all up for it. Perhaps you did but if you didn’t please man. I’m new to guns and living in the state of California makes it difficult to maneuver through actually getting one and I’ve wanted a reliable, easy semi-auto shotgun and this seems to fit my standards. Anyway thanks for the review and good job for the really easy yet simple Analysis.
Great channel !!! Before I buy this gun online being I can’t find one in any store around me hopefully I can get an answer from someone. I will be using this gun as a dual-purpose gun for dove hunting and deer dog hunting. Is this a good finish on this gun to hold up in the weather and how many shells does it hold because I’ve seen mixed answers to both questions. Question 1. How well will the coating/ finish on this gun hold up in the weather? Question 2. Is this a good dual-purpose gun for dove and deer dog hunting. Question 3. How many shot shells does this gun hold. I use 2 3/4 for doves and I live in South Georgis and its only 3 shot max for doves so I can plug the gun for that no problem but when I’m deer hunting, I use 3" buckshot or sometimes use 2 3/4. Thanks.
I just purchased the same shotgun the way the stock meets the receiver is kind of unacceptable. They could have done a better job on that overall so far. I love it. Great video! Thank you!
the reason gun makers make the wood a little bigger you feel that lump over time that wood will shrink its better to feel a lump in the wood than later for the receiver to be sticking out past the wood
I just purchased this exact gun after searching vigorously for 2 months. I think this is a beautiful shotgun and very reliable after reading the reviews. I can't wait to kill some clays with it ! I think it’s a great looking gun, I want one! But I already own an SX4 black/black synthetic. I don’t want multiple shotguns. I do kinda wanna pimp out my SX4
It's over a pound heavier than the Benelli ultralight. Prolly not a big deal if you push a field for pheasants, load up, drive to the next field... But long walks in the grasslands or chasing chuks in the cheatgrass, or spending a day walking through Alpine timber in search of grouse, that extra 1+ lbs of gun can get heavy.

Hello Steve, I recently purchased the SX4 3 1/2" model. Have gone through 375 rounds through it so far, majority of them 7.5 target loads 1200 fps at the skeet range. However, I experience jamming for more than 10 times. The loads wouldn't cycle. Of course I had cleaned the gun prior to going to the range (visit 1, 125 rounds, visit 2 275 rounds) it was on my 2nd visit that I had this malfunction. Besides cleaning the shotgun better, what else would you recommend I do to ensure not having this problem again?
#1 Make sure the shotgun has been cleaned well. I just put out a video on how to do that. #2 Make sure you are using 1 1/8 oz ammo. Light target loads can have some issues in 3.5" guns. Let me know how it goes.
@@TargetFocusedLife Thank you for the reply! Yes, the loads were 1 1/8 oz 7.5 1200 fps. First time I had no malfunction. Probably I didn't clean well the after that, going to be clean the piston better. I will definitely get back to you on that! Thanks!
I have a lot of experience with the SX4. I have the 20ga compact Affinity 3 for my son (9) and he loves to shoot it. He actually prefers it over the SX4 compact 20ga because it is lighter and shorter LOP. However, the Infinity 3 has more recoil so we threw a Falcon Strike on it and now he loves it even more. I had three kids out shooting yesterday ages 6, 8, 9 and they all shot the Affinity better. Now I know you are not a kid but thats the most experience I have with the Affinity. I know for sure the SX4 will have less recoil. Hope that helps some.
Franchi should be compared to a Benelli or a Retay or many of the Brownings are inertia driven. This shotgun should be compared to the Remington or a Fabarm or a gas driven. If you're into gas driven, give Fabarm a look, their L4S Hunter series is very good.
I have certainly suggested it before, but everyone's situation is different! This is a great gun that shines with light recoil, and manageable weight. Its also an absolute work horse. If these are important, then yes, It would be a good option.
The rifle arrived today and I dialed in the scope just a couple hours ago ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL . I haven’t shot with a scope in probably 25 years. Then I brought it down - shot once. Then brought it over to the left. From there zeroed it in to dead center. This all was from 25 yards out. Follow instructions carefully when mounting the scope. So far I'm very happy with the purchase.
