  • U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer is pushing to make it easier for small businesses to get federal aid during the pandemic. Visiting the Canal Towne Emporium, on Monday (July 6, 2020), the Senate minority leader called for Congress to pass the Prioritized Paycheck Protection Program Act or P4, prioritizing the current, recently extended Paycheck Protection Program for small businesses with 100 employees or less. The bill also would expand PPP loans to sole proprietorships and self-employed individuals. And nonprofits and churches would be newly eligible for the relief aid.
