In this video, it is not clear that what types of sand grids are used for removing the residues. In professional method we use 4 different sanding grids to remove hardest to fine residues. Then we process 2 different stages of buff polishing.
Professional headlight restoration process gives best results with respect to age & condition of the headlight.
We accept that headlight restoration process doesn't vanish the scratches/cracks but with professional grade materials, we can bring the look to 80-90% as new.

The toothpaste thing is such a windup. Still can't believe people think it's a good idea. Professional restoration is the only way 👍🏼
Head light glasses get lot of micro cracks and it catches fine dust in it. This problem is called ageing. This is mainly due to bigger temperature difference between inside and ambient. It gets accelarated because of altering with higher wattage. The only option is change head light fittings. No other solution.

Currently OE doesn't make separate-able fiber units in headlights. Its are of completely molded units. In old age cars we could see glass covers are removal in headlights.
But, we can still replace the fiber glass(in scrap yards) alone with proper technician & heating method.
