Personally speaking I like the play more than the short story. Small changes but better ones. It was based on something that actually happened - two brothers were sent to a farm because they couldn't stay at home, and were treated so badly that the eldest one died. Introduced a lot of new child safety laws in England.

I had read this one previously (one of the few I guessed correctly) and forgot everything except the skis. I decided to read the play and it was interesting! They added a new character which was cool
