I Had a Paramotor Abnormal

  • A few years ago I made what seemed like an innocent mistake, which was actually a very foolish mistake that turned my fun after work flight into more of an adventure than I wanted. This flight was somewhere around my 5th flight by myself after paramotor training. So I was definitely a newbie to paramotoring, but I should've known better. Lesson learned.
I decided to do this video in the style of Kyle O, complete with post voiceovers. If you don't know Kyle O, his channel is tons of fun, check it out here: / @kyleoglee .

Very calm and collected, nicely and safely done. Well done

That looked like quite the mess! Great job working through it.....can you imagine this happening with only a few flights under your belt? Surely it would have ended very bad without your experience to keep you calm.

Nicely done! In this situation when I've been unable to untangle the brake line I've been able to reach up above the pulley (on both sides) and been able to pull down enough on the brake line to steer and flare. It helps to be wearing gloves.

Been there! 100% altitude is your friend (as long as the glider is flying OK). Great vid, Chris! Thanks for the tips.

I had a brake line wrap on my 13th flight during training. I had just blown 4 launch attempts, was pretty tired and didn't go through all my checks. It wasn't too noticeable at first, but when I tried to turn left my toggle wouldn't move at all. I handled it well and got it out but it was definitely a little scary.
