Liam just released the best Brit Rock/Pop album since the Beatle's self-destructed... "As You Were" is stunning. Noel & Liam need to let go of the past and be brilliant together. Just because the Beatles were afraid to re-unite doesn't mean it's a thing.
He’s absolutely bang on about how much harder it is to write a joyous song than a sad one. This explains the genius of The Beatles and ABBA. ABBA were particularly brilliant in combing the two qualities within a single song. ‘Dancing Queen’ is on the surface impossibly joyful, but underneath is this sense of melancholy that your golden youth is a passing thing.

I'm willing to bet everything I own that Oasis will reform one day. The "bitter rivalry" between LG and NG suits them at the minute because it helps sell records. When it stops suiting them, that's when Oasis will be back.
I saw many 60's bands later in their careers but when it's the bands of my era it is about more than the music. Oasis would never really be the same if they reformed. They'd play the music perfectly but all the attitude of their youth would be gone. It's true of all rock n roll bands and I realise I never really saw The Who or The Rolling Stones just the same guys playing their music from years earlier for cash.

What Noel may not realize is that the Hall of Fame doesn't invite the band, it invites the individual members. So when Journey was inducted, anyone who was ever in the band was invited. The same for Blondie, Cheap Trick, KISS, etc. Noel may say he is not reforming Oasis to perform if inducted, but does he want Bonehead and McCarroll to be the only ones there to accept awards?
