HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 дек 2018
- In this tutorial I’ll be showing how to make faux red Tiger Eye, and how to make cabochons with it. I'll show you a few different versions with various color combinations and striation patterns, since no two stones are the same.
In part two of this tutorial, we will use the Red Tiger Eye sheet to make a beautiful lariat necklace. The link is in the description below.

Absolutely gorgeous.
Amazing likeness to the actual stones!!! I vote yes to the blue tiger eye.

Trés jolie votre réalisation
Blue tiger eye - yes please.
I would love to see the blue version of this.
Hi I just started to watching you😃 yes please show us how to do the blue one thank you stay safe
I would love to see a faux blue tiger’s eye, preferably with grey tones and no gold.
This was a wonderful tutorial (as are they all) that really sparked my imagination. I'd love to see a pair of earrings to match. I was thinking of a stone shape with a dangling arrow type bottom that would match the end of the leather on your lariat necklace. How to string? Hmmm, I’d like to keep the leather theme.
Sorry, rambling now. Thank you so much for continuing to put up such excellent tutorials on RUclips.
Love your idea. It would look stunning.
Beautuful
That donut looks real.
Quick question - for blending the separate colors, you mention 20 translucent, 12 bronze, etc. Do you mean 20 parts translucent, 12 parts bronze, etc.? Thanks so much for this tutorial. This is absolutely amazing and I'm going t try this over the weekend!
Yes. I do mean that.
The light shifting effect in cats eye stones is called chatoyance. Pronounced sha-toy-ance. Yes please do the blue cats eye.
I would also like the turorial on Falcon's Eye (Blue Tiger's Eye) :-)
Please do blue!!
Beautiful work, thank you for sharing. My hearing is not so good, so could you tell me what you sprayed onto the clay towards the end. I like the finish.
I put liquid clay on as a varnish.
These really are close to the original stones. Did you learn anything that could help you get closer to the original? Maybe translucent with inks? I was also wondering if the ice resin could have brought out more depth because of the mica particles in the blend and the translucent clay that was absorbed somehow in the cabochon with the black. I don't know enough yet.
The one with the black is the most stunning piece to my eye, although all were amazing.
I, too, would love to see the blue version. Thank you for all of thoughtfulness and work you put into this project and for looking forward to the lariat which is another favorite.
This is the closest I've come so far. If I come up with anything closer I'll do a tutorial.
Beautiful...looks so real. What colors should I use for the gold tiger eye?
I have a tutorial here on the gold tiger eye. www.etsy.com/au/listing/568394332/desert-jewel-polymer-clay-video-tutorial?ref=shop_home_active_46
please advise where i can purchase the rubber mold you used in your tutorial. the oval shapes are lovely. thanks.
I bought it here. polymerclay.com.au/Best-Flexible-Molds-Almond-Cabochons-More
Mixing each color with some mica powder would have make the effect of the stone.
Beautiful! I’d love to see the blue version! I’m curious, I’m just getting in to polymer clay and I’ve noticed that most tutorials, (not just yours,) recommend 40-60 minutes for baking time, while Premo packages list 15 minutes (and not to overbake) in the directions. Why is that?
15 minutes isn't long enough for the clay to be baked to a strong hard finish. I follow the temperature instructions, but not the amount of time to bake.
love these...where did you purchase your mold from.. thank you for sharing
I bought it here. polymerclay.com.au/Best-Flexible-Molds-Almond-Cabochons-More
polymerclay.com.au/Best-Flexible-Molds-Cabochons-More
Could you use an extruder instead of rolling into logs?
Yes. You can.
The shift is called chatoyancy.
I think a blue tiger eye would be amazing. Please please please do the blue! 😁
im new to polymer clay and a new subscriber, could someone please tell me what the numbers in the recipes mean. eg 20 translucent 12 bronze 1 cad red 8 black.... please and thanks
Here's a video that should explain everything. :D ruclips.net/video/z-J07Qnf_v8/видео.html&feature=emb_logo
@@JessamaTutorials that was very informative I appreciate the help. Love your tutorials very easy to follow and not to daunting for a beginner to give it a wack.
How do you decide to finish with liquid clay or varnish or uv resin?
It depends on the project and the finish you want.
Liquid clay doesn't work as well as resin on project that use ink as it tends to smear it if you're not careful.
Resin leaves a domed finish and sometimes that's not something you want.
Varnish leaves a flat finish and doesn't cover up marks like resin.
I AM JUST STARTING IN TO WORK WITH POLYMER CLAY,NOTHING FANCY JUST MAKING EARRINGS ETC ETC.
I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO REGULAR OVEN OR POLYMER BAKING OVEN (I AM A RESIDENT IN A NURSING HOME)
CAN I LET MY PIECES AIR DRY IN MY ROOM? MY ROOM GETS PRETTY WARM WITH MY HEAT ON.
(ABOUT 65 TO 70DEGREE) IS THAT REASONABLE TEMP TO AIR DRY I USE PREMO TYVM FOR UR HELP
Polymer clay doesn't air dry. It needs to be baked at the exact temperature on the package otherwise it's brittle.
How come I see this on the regular site before I see it on my subscription site?
I'm not sure, but I'm not in control of that.
When mixing the colours you said 20 of trans 4 of this 1of that but what do you mean by 20 ,or 4 or1 20 what
Here are some color mixing instructions: I like to roll out a sheet of each color and then take a circle cutter and cut out the parts. So for instance, 20 circles of translucent, 4 circles of black and 8 circles of bronze. Since the cutter is the same size for all the parts it gives an accurate color recipe.
Very Beautiful, but i had to turn off the Sound to watch, do not overlay your voice with music, please,
I'm not sure why it sounds like that because I didn't have any music in my video. I always have just me talking.
I watched it again and it was ok today, thanks for your answer.
